Fantastic service, Naomi was really friendly and efficient. The food as always was great. We had a very enjoyable time

The food was delicious. Staff were very friendly and professional .It was our first time, but we will definitely come back.

Service was very good - attentive staff and nice atmosphere. Welcomed us warmly and addressed our issue with the steak. I ordered a T bone steak, that was supposed to be medium rare but it was almost well done. Mentioned it to the waitress, and she brought me a new one 12 mins later. This time it was raw on the inside. I ate the edges of it as I was quite hungry having had to wait for the new one to be brought out. Having paid £41 for that cut, I wanted my steak done right, even tho, I just really wanted to finish my food and leave, but I asked them to put it on the grill for a little longer as it was medium rare that i requested. It eventually came back medium rare. But it spoiled the dining experience a bit with the to and from from the kitchen. I didn’t ask for it, but the manager kindly knocked off 20% from the bill for the inconvenience.

Wow, what an amazing night at Miller and Carter! Everything was spot on from start to finish. I had the 50-day aged ribeye steak and it was honestly the best steak I’ve ever had — even better than ones I’ve had at some super expensive places! Our waitress, Charde, was a total star. She knew the menu inside out, was super friendly and bubbly, and just made the whole evening even better. You could tell she really cared about making sure we had a great time. Even though the place was packed, the atmosphere was brilliant and our food came out really quickly. Honestly couldn’t fault a thing. Five stars all round — can’t wait to go back!

Excellent restaurant. We were in a rush as due to attend an afternoon wedding and Abi our server and Bradley the grill chef made sure we were served our food really quickly and were able to make the wedding on time. Thank you. Also the food was lovely.

The staff was absolutely superb there was a waitress called Lily who was extra friendly very patient and organised our food to perfection and we had an awkward order she handling 100% five stars to Lily And of course the steak and wine 💯

The whole night was a disaster. It was my 70th birthday today and my sister booked us in to miller & carter Bedford at 7:45pm.. We got there and was escorted to our seats and after 10 mins or so we ordered drinks and then our food. We had a strawberry and lime cider and a glass of prosecco and then we both decided on the prawn cocktail starter, I chose the seabass and she chose the lamb for our main course and we decided to share the lobster tail as neither of us had tried it before.. We were going to decide on dessert after the mains. Our starters came out quite quickly but the prawns were hard and rubbery and hardly any sauce but we decided not to say anything as we just wanted a nice time. We then sat around for almost 40 mins waiting for our main courses and after asking a waitress to check she said she was sorry we had waited and that they were going to be plating it up immediately. From the look on the waitresses face it was obvious that they had just missed our order! When the waitress brought it out, she said that the potatoes weren't ready so she would bring them when they were done, I was annoyed that we had waited so long and they bring an incomplete meal. For us though the the peice de resistance was they brought this lobster tail out that was burnt, hard as rock and very obviously inedible and at the same time my seabass was overcooked, the broccoli burnt yet not cooked and no potatoes. My sister's lamb was hard and very overcooked, the broccoli the same as mine, also no potatoes and the red wine jue was salty, lumpy and I doubt very much that it had any red wine in it. It was at this point that I asked for the manager. I politely told her just how awful the food was, that we couldn't eat it and how disappointed I was and all she said was she'd adjust the bill but no proper apology. They absolutely ruined my birthday and I was disgusted by the lack of care and attention. It gets one star for the drinks but they couldn't really mess that up could they? The meal would have cost in excess of £100 for two people but you can get better food and service in other places for that price!

After being a customer who loved it, the burnt broccoli, fat instead of meat, half the listed items not served on the plate its put me off miller and carter. Shame because I loved dining here but completely put off for life. Pictures sent in email as file won't upload on here unfortunately

Was looking forward to this as we were given vouchers for dinner. Arrived at 7pm prompt the server came to the table after 15 mins and took our order hadn’t offered us drinks before. Took order left our starter came out at 7.30 delivered by a manager who realised we still had no drink and went and got it straight away. 10 mins later server came and said had we ordered another bottle we said no and she left. We then then had our lettuce dressing dish my husband had finished his but I was still eating mine another server then brought our dressed in black then brought out the mains and dropped them on table in front of us. We finished our meal and wine then asked our server for the bill she then took the vouchers off £100 worth and didn’t come back for 20 mins we knew we only owed her 20 p and she came back said she’d lost our table bill as it had been cleared. We left food was amazing and well cooked service was terrible from Nai let’s hope no one else has the same Saturday night experience!

Food was great, and an excellent price from the lunch menu for 2 or 3 courses which is why we chose to book. Service was good, our waitress was friendly and the food waits were reasonable in between courses.

We travel for 40 mins to get here, it’s central for a family meet and never disappoints. Greeting was professional and the waitress was happy from the first meeting. Good timings on ordering and delivery of food. All meals were of the high standard we have always experienced at the Miller & Carter. I tried something new, the dirty burger, I don’t tend to have burgers but this was very good, the fillet tails clinched it! We didn’t have starters, but did have desserts. Tiramisu was very nice, not too over powering on the coffee, the brownie was very rich and just the right portion size. Would recommend the Bedford branch of Miller & Carter, the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. The prices are higher than most restaurants, but we know what we are getting and feel it is worth it.

Still one of my favourite places to go for a great night out. Food is amazing. Service as always impeccable. Just love it! Elise our server was so knowledgeable and friendly and our grill chef Morgan couldn't have cooked our food any better! Loved it. 10 stars !!!

Booked at the wrong miller and carter for valentines meal but they saved the day and gave us a table. Elise served us she was so kind and attentive and as always food was incredible and up to standard as usual !

Amazing restaurant and great food experience

I booked a table over a month ago to ensure I could treat my partner on valentines day. It was busy (as expected) and we waited by the bar until a table was free which was long (maybe 10 minutes or so). The service was excellent from start to finish and the food was as good, if not better, than expected. We had a fantastic evening together and both loved the food. We will be coming back in the near future. The only thing I could say that would have made it even better, is there wasn't anywhere to sit by the bar when we got there and had to stand at the bar with a drink until there was a space. Its not a big deal at all and it was understandably extra busy for valentines day

Booked our table well in advance at Bedford miller and carter, we arrived on time and had to wait 20mins for a table, after this we then sat down to eat, we gave our drinks, starter and main course order and patiently waited, our starters arrived before our drinks? Not acceptable. After that we waited around 30mins for a lettuce wedge to come out then another 20 mins later the steak arrives, chips were stale and steak barely warm, seemed like it was put on the side and forgotten about, it was a busy night so we didn’t cause a fuss and the wait time were very long, but was still very disappointed. Once our plates were taken we then waited for another 20 mins for someone to give us a dessert menu then another 30 mins to bring out 2 brownies and ice cream? Very long wait times, food was sub par at best which is a shame because miller and carter is our favourite restaurant and we try to visit every month, we won’t be going to the Bedford branch again we will be going to Milton Keynes, much better there. Spent £124 on a below average dining experience, not acceptable.

Had a fantastic cote de boufe share board. Cooked perfectly, the staff were super friendly and very attentive. All the food was so flavoursome.

Not the normal level of service last night, nearly 2 Hours for food to arrive, told because they were busy, 2 couples next to us arrived after us and got their food before us! Food was not as good as usual, drinks took far too long to come out too. Will be a long time until we feel like returning. Disappointing as was with friends from out of town who were less than impressed.

1st time in this particular m&c. Smaller than the other 2 local ones. Waitress was attentive and knowledgeable. We had a lovely meal as always .

We had dinner with the family for my brother. The food was delicious, and our server Elise was attentive and quick to help when we needed anything. We would definitely come again!

We were warmly greeted on arrival, and shown to our table. When we requested a different table (due to mobility issues) the staff quickly arranged for our preferred table to be made available. The serving staff were warm, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu options. The food and wine was exceptionally good. We requested a rare and blue fillet both of which were cooked to perfection, as were the accompaniments. My steak could have rested for a little longer but that was a small issue and it didn't impact the flavour or softness of the meat. I passed on my compliments to the chef. A thoroughly enjoyable evening, thanks so much! 🤩

Was in the area and thought it good to try here as I have visited other Miller & Carters around the UK and know they always have quality food. This place did not disappoint. The staff are so attentive and the food is consistently high quality. They do a fixed menu which is great value and the wedges of lettuce are an absolute treat. The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sea bass was delicious. I had potato doulphinue and it is the best I have tasted. Creamy and the flavoursome. I will definitely be back 🤗

Ate here on Saturday and while the food was pretty good at best, the way the place was run and the wait times were ridiculous. We had our table booked and areived on time, yet waited over 90 minutes for our food to arrive, nobody came up to apologise for any delay etc. Our waitress was lovely and clearly overstretched. It seems the manager was the issue, piling people in without thought for the pressure it was clearly putting on the kitchen and waiting staff. Many other tables were clearly fed up too. I told the manager, and instead of acknowledging the issue he just took two more people in to a table (passed a crowd of other annoyed guests) Unfortunately it just isn't worth it for the cost and quality of food in my opinion, but perhaps others will have more luck on a different day.

Absolutely terrible service. Waitresses are doing their best and are lovely but management of the place is a disaster. Waited 1.5 hours for food. Manager totally ignored us when we complained at the end. £100 for 2 people... not worth it! Can't fathom why this place is busy.

Great location in Bedford with pleanty of parking nearby. Food and drinks are spot on, but no atmosphere in there really.

I've ordered a medium rare ribeye. The fat cap was not seared, and what I got was a partially medium and partially rare steak. The price I paid was not for eating the product of an apprentice.

Moved to the area over a year and althought I heard about this restaurant I completely underestimated it and didn't give it much thought. It was my son's birthday last Saturday and we initially were going to go to London for a meal but due to circumstances changed our minds and decided to stay local. When we arrived at the restaurant, have to say we were initally unimpressed by how long it took for someone to acknowledge that me and my family were standing in the reception waiting to be seated but after that slow start everything else was amazing! Staff were friendly and professional and the food was fantastic. Best steaks in a long while. The decor inside was also very good with a buzzing atmosphere and we all thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Will absolutely be back and soon.

First off all, how do you not have an old fashioned yet have bourbon, bitters, sugar and water? Am I in the wrong here? I mean I had a lot of beer. But I’m fairly sure I could have made a passable old fashioned on site. Also, everyone else’s food was better than mine. Possibly my fault but there you are.

Walked in with my girlfriend and we sat down. Five minutes later, another couple came in, sat down on the table next to ours. They had their drinks order taken, then their food order taken, and we hadn’t been noticed. The waitress then came up to us, but we just got up and left. Shame, because I really wanted a steak.

hadn't been in a while, but the steak was possible one of the best i have had there, was 100% on point, took my friend for a later Birthday meal and she was as happy as i was. Our waitress was amazing too ( I cant remember her name ) she was very friendly and welcoming, was engaging but not intrusive in any way, she catered to all our needs and very much added to the dining experience. 10/10

We had the filet mignon and sirloin. Filet mignon was very juicy and I loved it. Sirloin was ok but not as good as the filet. Charlotte our server was great and kept an eye on us, also made us an anniversary dessert tray.

Excellent ambiance and delicious drinks, huge props to the bartender Addien! Phenomenal.

Racist!!!! We had a very bad experience with our waiter called Maria. She was very rude ,arrogant and had a very condescending tone to everything she said. We inquired a few things on the menu,she was so impatient and even had the audacity to ask us whether we have read the menu. She brought different flavours of the ciders we ordered and when we asked her,she told us that what we ordered was out of stock and she didn't see a big deal anyway . One of us asked how long the food would take coz she was going to work,she asked us whether we did not know what kind of restaurant we were in ,coz restaurants like these take time.No reassurance whatsoever. She deliberately delayed our order for more than 1 hour,no service. Maria ruined the whole experience for us we did not even enjoy the food. Kindly train your staff on good customer service because they are the face of the entire experience

I went for lunch with my fiancé and future mother-in-law. We went for the Sunday set menu. It was fantastic. The service from Elise was amazing and we really enjoyed our time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced considering the quality and atmosphere. I'll definitely be visiting again. We drove from Sandy to Bedford just to have a family lunch and it was lovely. Had a lovely celebration meal at Miller & Carter Bedford last night. First time to this branch but staff were all lovely and our waitress Eleanor was amazing - we were a group of 11 but we were so well looked after, she really could not have done more. Food was gorgeous, came out together and hot and all the steaks were cooked to perfection. Will definitely return and would recommend- if there was one negative, it’s that the carpet is very worn and could do with replacing.

My first time at Miller and Carter and we ate from the lunch menu. The food was delicious. Starters were generous and our mains were both steaks which were superb 👌 Our server was so friendly, attentive and made the whole experience a perfect venue to treat my Wife for a Birthday lunch. First visit and it did not disappoint. Steaks were great and perfectly cooked. Children’s menu was large, as was the vegetarian selection too.

The setting and placement of the restaurant within the town is lovely with the river close by. Ther atmosphere within the restaurant is high class but not unwelcoming

First time coming to this restaurant and will definitely be coming back. Our server was Katie and she was amazing. We had a very complex allergy friend and she spent time working with her on what she could eat. This was something that we have not had before. She is such a credit to this restaurant and she made our evening out such a good experience. We will definitely be back and would hope that Katie is our server again. Katie made the visit to the restaurant a pleasure and will be back 100%. nothing was too much trouble for her.

It was our first time as a family for my sons 18th birthday. I was so impressed with the choice and the fact there was a gluten free menu too. The staff were super friendly and answered any questions we had as newbies! They also gave us guidance on what to order according to our tastes - excellent attention to detail regarding service. The food was amazing...I ate the fat on my steak!!! I NEVER eat the fat but somehow every bite was delicious! I'm also happy with the cost. We'd budgetted for an expensive meal, it was a special occasion but this came under budget so I was even happier

Staff members were not very attentive during our visit. We ordered and the Lettuce Wedges were brought to the table after approximately 30minutes, we expected our steaks to follow but they did'nt arrive for another 20minutes and this was after going up to the bar and chasing up our order. Very disappointed with the service we received as the restaurant was not too busy (5-6 tables), unlikely to return or recommend.

Sent the steak back 3 times for it being undercooked. And compared to other miller and carter's I found this one to be less attentive and the food to be much colder.

Drinks took 20 minutes, starter (bread!), over 30 minutes. Mains over an hour. Food was great when it arrived but it was all so painfully slow, making me think twice about returning.

Me and my partner ordered miller and carter take away after reading and hearing excellent reviews and praises however this was not the case! we ordered ribs and cheese and bacon burger + 2 cokes. The food arrived minus the drinks which was disappointing as we paid extra for the drinks, the chips were cold and had a stiffness to them and didn't taste nice. The burger didn't taste good the bacon was over cooked and hard and the burger itself had no flavor and a soggy piece of Lettice. The ribs were the only thing that wasn't a disappointment but still not great. Overall the Food and the experience was horrible and we will not be ordering food from here again.

Gotta be one of the top restaurants in Bedford, and I've tried a lot. This is one of those rare dishes where every single thing on the plate was delicious. Perfectly seasoned and tender sea bass, didn't even need the tomatade sauce but still delicious together. Cheesy potatoes had a crispy, chewy bottom, SO good. Grilled veggies and pea puree all bursting with flavor. I would eat this dish every day for the rest of my life. Even my husband who's a steak lover was jealous of my plate after trying a few bites. Service is always great, the waitress caught us on our way out and let my husband know that he'd forgotten his hat in the booth. Friendly and attentive!

We visited you for the first time celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been more pleased the food was amazing and the lady that served our table she went above and beyond she said that when we had finished our desert that she had a surprise for us. She brings out a plate saying happy anniversary in chocolate with some strawberries and chocolate we was truly grateful and impressed we will definitely be coming again soon if you can please say a massive thankyou to the lady that served us please

We waited 40 minutes to pay our bill and we were questioned over our £25 voucher. Our waitress only checked on us once and never asked if we wanted more drinks etc, even when we clearly had empty glasses. Such a shame as we love Miller and Carter, but we felt we were not valued during this visit! We also waited a while to be seated. It felt like many of the staff just kept their heads down and ignored us. Not really a great experience!

Our server, Jade, was very bubbly and helpful and really made us feel welcome. The food was superb but the facilities could use some maintenance

We celebrated our son's graduation last night. The staff, food and service were 2nd to none. It was my first visit but I'll definitely be back
