Millars Fish & Chips in North Down

Purchased a cod supper last night at around 8.30pm. To say we were disappointed is an absolute understatement. Basic requirement is crispy fish and good chips! The chips were anaemic, pale white and undercooked to the point that they literally flopped and broke in half when you picked one up. There were plenty of staff standing about, but little care or attention was given to the food. I presume it was a case of ‘it’s nearly closing time, who cares.’ However, £12+ for an undercooked cod supper is an utter disgrace!

I have always rated Miller’s fish the best in Bangor. Not anymore - bought two fish tonight. Batter was soggy and few chips with the fish under cooked. That does not add up to a good fish. What has happened to this chippie?

This previously was super for GF fish. Last carryout disappointing but anywhere can have a bad day. So I tried again... Today I was so disappointed ( to say the least) that I actually drove back with my order. I reopened the package at the counter for the manager who agreed it was not good. A refund given straight away. Make your own judgement from the photo. The fish had obviously been broken up before frying as the batter was COMPLETELY crusted on ALL edges/ sides. The absence of fish completed the disappointment! At least 2 members of staff had seen this - Chef and Packing colleague- and determined it suitable for a customer.

First time we've had a meal delivered but unfortunately one small chip as oppose to two large chip were delivered. Not something I'm going to lose sleep over but left us short of food as well as being short-changed.

I noticed its a 4 star rating, im sure used to state 5. Often call in, never have the fish as just not liking the taste or the batter..months now never a fan. But the chips are overall good. Ive often gotten scraps though in amongst decent chips, i note the price is now £4 for large chip / fish nearly £7. Thats standard really..you don't get a great many chips..enough..but well England you get tons. 1 bag, back in June, literally was almost going to take them back, all the chips were just couldnt eat them / unlucky i guess / should of taken them back really / but overall decent enough chips so recommend them at least. 4 x in the last ..6months...so..aware thats not a lot..but if your ordering eg, my case 6 sausages as well as chips etc ( the sausages i do like btw )..only gave 4...this happens to me whenever i order something a bit more - for the family - just dont seem to get it right....so...next time..check.. But again, minor quibble really. Am keen to know why down to a 4star though.
