Just awful. Batter on sausage and spam was pale and undercooked so it was very chewy. Chips were soggy and full of carbon (black bits) suggesting the oil hasn't been changed for a while. First and last time trying this place.

I ordered through just eat the chips I received were awful they were at best Luke warm also all ends I could tell they had been reheated and sat in hot box the battered sausage was rubbery batter ! Again Luke warm at best! Curry was lumpy tasteless and cold I have over 30yrs experience in chip shops so I do know how things are supposed to be served ! Absolutely awful food

I phoned my order through to Mike’s Chippy for 23 meals to support our ‘non-cooking’ cub camp. i arranged to pick up at 17:15. At 17:11, they were phoning me as I walked through their door, to tell me the food was ready. Great service guys and very much appreciated. Cubs ate very well. Thank you. 12th A Rochdale cubs camping at Ashworth Valley Scout Campsite.

has potential to be a fantastic chippy, reasonable price, good selection of food and friendly staff, however i am only rating 4 stars as the portion sizes always seem too small!

I hate leaving a bad review but ooohhhh. I only tried the chips but that was enough for me to never order from here again. Friends also ordered and its a no from them too. 5er for chips,peas and gravy. Slightly drunk but not drunk enough

Used the new Mike's Chippy app to order a delivery.Within 20 mins food was delivered. Best fish and chips I have had for years. Lovely tasty and freshly cooked. Can't be beaten locally.

Disappointed to say the least. Don't use the Mike's website that offers "delivery" We was told the food was coming and 1.5 hours later it didn't. We then drove to the shop for a refund to which they argued... your website and your "new system" is your issue, it certainly is not your customers issue.... you failed to deliver the food and then all we wanted was a refund - you would want a refund if the shoe was on the other foot. You then antagonised the situation with all your excuses that we didn't care about, we just simply wanted our money back. We have been a customer of mikes for years and we will not be returning. Food is not usually bad here ladies and gents, but unfortunately tonights experience has really turned our stomachs.

This was the best Chippy for miles, but I must say since the new owners have arrived things have gone down I definitely won’t be going again ordered chips& peas and asked if I’d like the peas on top of the chips, he then put them on the bottom no fewer than 3 seconds after I’d told him he apologied then asked again what I ordered I told him the steak pie which was dry and unedable the sausage was like warm and the chips were obv last night batch 7.50 I won’t be going ever again

Ordered the 'Spicy Fish Goujons' last night for delivery. First of all, they're not spicy and the "batter" was like soggy, undercooked pancake batter with a weird spice mix. I tried one piece and it's got to be the worst tasting and smelling food I've ever tried. Tried to eat some of the chips around it but the smell just put me off. Worst part is, I've been ill all day today and think it's possibly food poisoning.

The man was so rude, I asked for certain food and instead of giving it to me like I asked - he patronized me. My partner than asked for him to make sure the gravy was in a pot (just in case) and he gave us both the dirtiest look.

I usually Don't Eat Chips ,but I was asked to Taste the Mike's Fish and chips and gravy topped Meal ,against My Own Experiance I Did place the order and Picked it up. At home Infront of TV served it on a plate as It was and Took a bite Thinking Gravy had ruined it. First bite felt Really surprising 2nd Bite i made sure I had ChipsFosh Gravy Lemon saltvinagre on and My Mouth was Having A Party ,(since Covid 2020 my meal portion size gone down to medium Adult Half Portion to Medium size KID meal, this Meal was Large + adult Meal, I Enjoyed Every bite and Chased the next bite. And beleive me since covid I've not ones Been able to eat a Full adult Meal neverntye less the Size Mike's Meal was I NEVER LEACE A REVIEW ON first date with my Meal, so The very Next day I went and Orderd the same and was expecting yesterdays taste wasn't gonna ve the same as the one I had Ordered , well for the 2nd time My Mourh my Stomack where having such a blast. DAMN NICE FISH CHIPS and Gravy topped with Saltwinagre ans Lemons. This Guy didn't have a Clue he was serving A Head chef ,but Man he nailed it 10/10 I actually walked back and Told the man how I lived His Meal and I have probebly found top Contender! In any Style of cooking Keeo the good Job , if you are passning by or even on mororway and wanna stop for a bite the extra mile and half is worst the Mouthgasem you are gonna GIVE THIS GUY A TRY and Please Mention Tommy the Head chef Sends his regards

Most of my chips were crunchy ... had kebab meat he went in back to get it it and it was all in bits when i got it home... my partners fish had soggy batter.

We got a chippy tea for the family mid week.Mostly food is good only downsides were the batter on the fish really needs work crispy outside but with a thick under cooked layer of batter between the crispy outside and the fish.The actual fish was tasty and with nice chunky flakes obviously not frozen stock.The chips are very average and could have done with another few minutes on full heat.The quality of the potatoes was not the best. quite a few black bits and eyes. With work on the batter and the quality of the chips has the potential to win chippy awards

We held a party at a local club for my husbands Birthday on Saturday night. It was decided instead of the normal buffet food we would like traditional fish and chips. My daughter contacted Mike and Pat, they were very accommodating. Some of our guests are vegetarians and we also had gluten free request. Nothing was too much trouble. The food arrived promptly at requested time. It was all piping hot and freshly made. All of our guests were very impressed with the high quality and perfectly cooked food. Mike and Pat may we pass on the compliments from ALL of our guests who thoroughly enjoyed everything and were very impressed, and those that do not live locally envious we have a fabulous traditional "Chippy" . Tucked away a little down Wham Steet, near the Horse & Jockey pub, Mikes Chippy is well worth a visit. They have the best pies in Heywood, especially the balti ones, I think they were the first in the town to do this type. Portions are always large & the fish is always cooked fresh for you so worth the wait. So if it's traditional chippy food & tasty speciality pies, look no further than Mike's, the best in Heywood. This isn’t my local, but as mine was closed it was the next best thing and I think it’s only fair I review them. It’s twice I’ve been here and most chippers can’t lift their heads to look at you in the eye. Mikes chippy and the team here were very accommodating, quick and friendly. The food wasn’t greasy or warm, but crispy and tasty. I recommend this chippy when you’ve had a hectic day and can’t be bothered cooking!

I've been coming to this chippy every week for years and it doesnt disappoint! Lovely friendly helpful staff who always make the effort. Fresh food, award winning fish and yummy curry! My personal favourite- cheese burger and chips, perfect portion sizes always with a smile and exceptional cooking from an experienced chief! The best chippy!

Greasy chips and the fish tasted funny

Very stingy on the amount served. Very little chips or cheese for a large portion, was still hungy afterwards thats how small the portions are, a tiny sprinkle of cheese was given had to ask to put more on, however, dont think she did. Poor amount of curry given, it was like it was put on with a little spoon. The lady behind the counter didnt make me feel welcome, she forgot serval things, i had to remind her. I apologised incase i was a pain as i wanted to pay seperate for 2 meals, she just smiled. Very rude, i wasnt a pain, i was just being a customer. The taste of the food was over powered by the amount of vinger that she put on despite me saying just abit.

Lived nearby for around 4 years so visited over 20 times now. For the price, portion sizes are slightly smaller than other chip shops I've visited. Average tasting, nothing bad. The staff always seem to look a little cheerless, like you've done something wrong. Need a few more smiles.

Fantastic superb tasting fish and chips. Called in on my way home from shopping, didn't fancy cooking, not been there for years. Still the same couple running it, warm friendly atmosphere, as well as good food.

I travel a lot and specially come out Of my way to mikes chippy.. Always tasty and hot cooked to perfection.. Recommend the fish lightly battered .. Nothing is to much trouble ... Love friendly staff ..give it a spin !!!!

Never seems to open when you want it to be. Sometimes chips are rushed because there's never any ready. So end up being undercooked. All other stuff is pretty good tho. Nice an clean and friendly
