Excellent as always, staff are friendly, it's always bubbling with people, love the new (not so new now) layout and extension into next door, there's usually a cute pooch about, the smell of great coffee and lovely cakes. Brilliant place to study for a few hours, or meet friends for coffee, will always recommend and will be back very soon 💕

I love this place but I have a serious problem. They charge an extra 50p for milk alternatives. This is daylight robbery. A standard 1 litre of premium oat milk for baristas costs £1.70. The equivalent for whole milk is £1.20. So 50p extra. Assuming 100 ml goes into a flat white that’s an extra 5p per serving. So how the hell does it come out as 50p!? My issue being I’m trying to do the right thing by having an alternative milk (re environment) so why am I being massively overcharged? Surely you could charge 10p, you’re still covering the extra cost and not looking like it’s profit over planet.

My absolute go to place every weekend. I love everything about Midgar and have enjoyed seeing it go from strength to strength. The Coco-Sin coffee is gorgeous and all the cakes are delicious. I love the loyalty programme . On every 7th hot drink purchase you get a free item. What's not to love?!

Stopped by before lunch with friend for little caffeine top up. Great coffee, selection of cakes and pastries to die for! Very friendly, attentive and polite staff. Nothing better on the rainy miserable day than good coffee and seeing all the staff greeting you with smile on their faces. Will definitely come back

Great welcome as soon as I walked into the store. Stuart and his team look after everyone and give great service. Plenty of drinks on offer and lots of lovely cakes to go with it too. A great independent coffee shop which was recently refurbished now housing extra seating and a garden out at the back. Well worth a visit !

I’ve visited midgar twice in August. On the 5th of August my partner and I dined in. When we arrived it was very busy and we waited 10-15min for our drinks to arrive and then an additional 10min for a gluten free toastie to arrive. The drinks were lovely, the toastie was okay. It tasted nice but was small for £7 and I avoided the salad as it came with a dressing that I was unsure was gluten free. I also didn’t like that although for august it was a relatively cold day and we were sat by the door (only available table) and the owner decided to open the door casting a cold wind over us, that ultimately made us decide to leave sooner. We then visited again August 12th for two take away cappuccinos. We ordered them at 11:02 and I’m still waiting for them, writing this review in store at 11:16!!! This is not good enough for a takeaway option. (Eventually received our drinks at 11:18 ) Ultimately. I wouldn’t use Midgar again for a takeaway option and would now think twice before visiting again when dining in too. Something needs to be done about wait times.

Dropped in here early one weekday morning. An incredibly warm welcome from the staff, I felt right at home. Hot choc was great. I didn't sample the treats but they looked amazing. This cafe deserves to thrive.

My smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel was great, but my wife asked for a hot cross bun that was thrown on a plate and put in front of her. Not toasted, no butter, no knife to cut it in half and very stale. Sorry Midgar, but the clue is in the name, HOT cross bun, and preferably made that day. We didn’t complain, we just never come back. I was always taught in business that it costs ten times as much to find a new customer that it does to look after an existing one. Raise your game or you won’t be there.

I had a lovely creamy coconut milk turmeric latte. The service was polite and she was the one that suggested coconut milk goes well with a turmeric latte. I also bought a large pain au raisin. That was scrumptious too. As it was a small cafe and the seats were all taken I sat on the bench in front of the cafe. I’m not from the area but if I’m visiting again I will try something else for sure.

Midgar coffee is a friendly clean coffee house/restaurant in Bury St Edmunds. The choice you have for food and drinks is unmatched in the town and unlike most places everything is made fresh when you place your order. I can’t recommend Midgar enough.

Hidden off the Holloway Road, near the Odeon, this Tapas restaurant is worth visiting. Wide menu of sharing plates and mains, will suit both the adventurous and the less so. Good value, friendly service Worth supporting in these hard times

We ordered the burrata and tomatoes starter and when it came it was not Buratta it was cheap plastic mozzarella. No mention of this when brought to the table and no apology until we asked the waitress who didn’t know what the cheese was. If you don’t have something on the menu this should be made explicitly clear when the order is taken.

The two people running this stall were hospitable kind and very skilled chefs. The food was a beautiful standard and was made in a timely manner. They have exceeded my expectations of an outdoor food stall. Would recommend. Definitely coming again !

1- if you want to run a restaurant in the UK, have a BASIC grasp of English 2 -any women visiting will feel in a distinct minority. Despite that the place is virtually deserted, the 3 or 4 customers are shuffling men - no female presence anywhere 3 - at least know your menu. A request for the most basic dish resulted in much head-scratching, bespectacled poring over the menu before confused shuffling into the ‘kitchen’. The food -to be honest who cares. If anyone decides they want to enjoy Moroccan/N African cuisine ..just go somewhere else. PLEASE !!!!!! The harira- worm and passable The couscous - dry as the Sahara, (asked for extra sauce - maybe I was speaking Martian. They didn’t have a clue. Lamb- big mistake; huge! as tough as a Doc Marten and the general taste ..,ever sucked your grandfather’s slippers? A lump of warm squash, a lump of tepid carrot - blurrgghhh! It’s an under-populated social club for N African men - NOT - by any stretch of the imagination, a restaurant. They’ve tarnished my love of N African food and I’ll NEVER return. Just awful!!!!! I’m so hacked off with this dump that I don’t care if they don’t cancel my bill. I’d rather eat my own (fill in the blank as you see fit).
