This shop is part of the history in Leyton and serves up a good well priced cod and chips. I always purchase the special which comes with two cods for £6. The staff are friendly avoid late evening on Friday as you will be waiting a while . Excellent food

We ordered a £20+ order off of Just Eat and only half the order arrived. Rang the restaurant and the girl who picked up said it was her fault as she hadn’t bothered to check the order before it went out. They wouldn’t refund and had no one who could deliver the rest of the order so left us with no options and only had a dinner. We had to go through the long Just Eat call service to get a refund which would only be issued to us in 7 days. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Would never order from them again

Amazing, probably the best value for money takeaway you can buy in London. Most places charge close to double their prices and aren’t half big or as tasty. I imagine they can survive on such small margins given the high turnover of customers they have. I have never seen this place without a queue going out the door. Keep up the good work.

Este es un gran pequeño chippy. Las patatas fritas siempre son frescas y no grasosas. El pescado es bueno y todo tiene un gran valor. ¡Hemos comido mucho desde aquí!

Solo unas pocas veces, pero después de escuchar cosas buenas finalmente lo probé y me encantó. Es una tienda de pescado y papas fritas sin lujos y sin lujos, que en estos días es cada vez más difícil de encontrar. Muy bien de precio también. ¡Espero que continúe!

Was a good value chippy and for £16 we got quite a bit, fish, chips, battered sausage, calamari, peas and curry (hot) sauce! Big portions and good service, that said I called and ordered but upon arrival was told I would have to queue up anyway - strange but worth the wait 👍🏽

I have gone her on numerous occasions, but only at lunch time. The portions are so large that we have kept 1/2 for the night! And the staff smile!!!

Great local chippy. Almost no competition in the area but for this part of London the food is fantastic! Always a massive queue which is a great sign and feels like a proper traditional chippy. Staff are beyond efficient and never put a foot wrong. You can tell they get a lot of practice with the queues out the door. Really cheap too. Highly recommended.

You will not find a better fish and chip shop in East London. The portions are huge, the food tastes great and the atmosphere is electric. As Jay Z once said "Psycho, I'm liable to go Michael, Take your pick; Jackson, Tyson, Jordan..." I presume the only reason he didn't mention Michael's Fish & Chip bar was for rhyming efficiency. Truly the GOAT. You will be queuing up for anything between 5-50 minutes but, as everyone else in the queue knows, this fish and chips is worth the wait.

Rather dangerous for my waistline..I work around the corner and once a month I treat myself to a ginormous portion of their "special small" fish and chips..which is less than £4.00 .. The chips are crispy fluffy fat chips Never stale or soggy .. the fish is always well done. It's a no frills fish and chip shop, usual extras are nice (curry sauce is yummy) on a Friday the queues are down the road .. it's well worth it if you are in sunny Leytonstone. The service is always friendly..Can't be beaten on value for money and taste.

When I'm in London on business I always stop off here. £1.70 for a small portion which is about the size of my head. Don't know how they make a profit. East London is great chips and here is the best place I've been.

This fish and chip shop does not need No Introduction the queue speak's for it selves if you haven't had these fish and chips your missing out a must try

I have just moved back to the area after 19 years and I'm happy to report that it's still the best fish and chips in the area. The £3.20 for a small cod and chips is great value and easily enough for a normal person. Service is good, can be busy at times especially on a Friday night but worth the wait.

The fish and chips deal for £3.20 is highly recommended and well worth seeking out. The venue is popular with locals and with friendly, helpful staff it's not hard to see why!

Despite the long queues, it is worth the wait. Their battered cod is on point. Their chips is also on point. I cannot fault their execution of the delivery. The customers are also very friendly, so you can have a little joke and chat while waiting in the queue for your food. In my humble opinion, Michael's fish and chip bar do serve the best chips from East London, I have been coming here for years. From speaking to many customers (my personal research) many do make the effort to drive from Forest Gate, Wanstead, South Woodford 3 to 4 miles away which does speaks volumes.

Forget fancy restaurants! Michael has the most satisfying fish n chips! A parcel can feed two! Always has the best and fresh chips!

Can't beat this place for great traditional fish n chips or sausage in batter. Huge portions and always fresh, great value too.

Michael's is an old style fish and chip shop- just fish and chips, no frills, no pizza, no kebab, no nonsense. The previous owners were ace, the new ones are getting there- a little odd that people that are less competent put the prices up...

Excellent value for money. Portions are big! Fish is fresh due to high turnover. Need to telephone if you want anything other than cod as its all freshly fried. Long Long Queues. Lunch time is the least busy. Very pleasant staff.
