Meze Meze in Glasgow City

I have been going to Meze Meze once in a while and have taken many friends with me. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for good food, friendly service, and a Middle Eastern theme. It is pricey, which is not a problem for me. You pay for what it's worth, as this is not an ordinary restaurant. Their Persian menu is limited but good enough to satisfy. Keep up the good work. Merci.

The food was out of this world! Don't confuse this place with your typical kebab shop or curry house, it is a world apart! The minced lamb kebab was seasoned to perfection! The balance of fresh lamb and eastern spice blew my mind and the accompanying salad cleansed the palate between each moreish mouthful. The lamb and aubergine stew was another mouthwatering marvel. The cubes of lamb were tender and full of eastern flavour, melting in the mouth beautifully. The aubergine (which I'm not usually a fan of) was delicious, it complimented the lamb in both flavour and texture and soaked up all the tantalising flavours from the stew. The addition of a few chip/fries to the stew was a surprise but again, soaking up all those juices and delicate spice, they added another dimension to an awesome dish. The service we received was perfect! The waiting staff were attentive without being in your face, their knowledge of the menu was extensive and the one question they weren't able to answer was met with a smile and "let me just check with the chef" answer that was good to hear. Everyone had a smile on their face and nothing seemed to be any trouble. I really can't fault them. I will definitely be back, sooner rather than later hopefully!

Had a table booked for 6:30pm. Arrived at 6:36pm due to parking issues. Also called prior to make aware would be 5-10 mins late and was told that wasn't an issue. We waited around 5 mins to then be told our table had been given away and no tables were available and would have to wait a while. The women(black and blue hair) was abs rude, explained we were fasting and would require a table to open fast which she couldn't care less about and was un interested and didn't offer a solution. Majority of restaurants hold tables for 10-15 mins, Will not be visiting again

Wonderful !!! Visited last night prior to a concert at Hydro . Hadn`t booked but staff gave us a table beside the counter for my pal and myself . Brilliant atmosphere and we could see all the food being prepared - a real buzz ! We both had chargrilled burgers which were excellent but if I had more time would definitely try the Adana kebab and Doner . Will definitely be back !!

Good food but horrible service.

We walked in on a Saturday evening and they kindly squeezed us in! They were very welcoming and very accommodating with our three year old even brought him some orange juice in a lovely child’s cup and brought him over some chips to keep him amused. The service was prompt and the food came quickly. It was delicious! Thank you!

Dropped in on a Saturday around dinner time and although we never had a booking they still managed to squeeze us in and kindly gave us a table for around an hour and even moved us to a bigger table once we ordered the platter. The food was incredible, a platter of mixed meats and kebabs, all seasoned differently, all cooked to absolute perfection and served on a bed of the best rice I've ever had outwith an Indian biryani. It's not cheap, just over £100 for the platter with a couple of beers but it would comfortably feed 3 maybe even 4 people and the quality was outstanding.

We had the meze, and it was pretty good. The lunch offer of two cold and one hot meze per person was just the right amount for us. Baba ganoush was the highlight: the bext I've had in a long time. Our waiter was attentive and friendly, but it was quiet so we almost had him to ourselves. Can't complain about the price either, especially for what you get.

It is our regular stop, and not a pleasant sight standing outside waiting for the bus while children get scared watching animals flesh being cut by chefs through the glass. Please pl pl take animals off the entire menu. 🙏 It’s not impossible.

I am simply sharing my experience (but expect a retort from the owner lol). I stopped by and asked the waitress if it was possible to just get dessert. Upon being seated, I am told I can't order just dessert (even though the price of the two I ordered combined would be similar to a meal). She seemed annoyed with me to the point I was reconsidering eating there, but I stayed. I ordered the ice cream, which had severe freezer burn, and the rolled pastry dessert, which was room temperature and soggy inside. I can't speak on behalf of the actual food, but I would be wary of the dessert. (My stomach feels a little upset as I'm writing this). The older male worker making the skewers was very nice, though.

As we were craving Middle Eastern food, I decided to bring my parents and try out Meze Meze. It was such a great experience, the food was mouth watering. I have always loved Persian kobideh kebab, and it did not disappoint at all! We also got a stew dish called “zereshk polo ba morgh”, which was absolutely delicious and such a comforting dish in this cold. As a Middle Eastern, I really recommend this place. I can’t wait to come again and bring my friends.

The food is tasty and made fresh using good ingredients. However the service is poor to say the least. Staff are disinterested and everything seems like a chore. To make it worse, they add service charge and don't give the option to remove. Won't be rushing back.

Honestly, from the get go, rude not inviting. Go somewhere else. I questioned the water, which apparently is bottled, but I know bottled water and that was tap water, filled up in a bottle. Scam.

Fresh, authentic Persian and Turkish food and a really chilled vibe in the place. Everything is clearly cooked to order and freshly prepared. Staff are attentive, warm and friendly too so all in a great dining experience.

Het was allemaal matig tot slecht. Begon al dat de rijst van een schotel van 85 pond niet vervangen kon worden voor patat. Deze dus niet genomen. Hebben wraps met rundvlees gekozen. We kregen het voor ons en het vet lag op het bord. Was echt niet lekker. De patat lag er in . Nee het was een grote teleurstelling.

Although staff were nice and kind, the food was barely edible. We had the beef doner and grilled chicken. Both tasted really bad and were overpriced too.

Went here for dinner and was escorted by the manager to next door, thought it was an overflow but had a completely different menu. Should of left then but stayed ordered mussels which arrived still closed, sent them back, wasn't offered an alternative just came back 15mins later still shut, sent them back and advised manager to throw his mussels away before he killed someone. Mains were okay. Certainly won't be returning

The best food i had so far in Scotland! The portion is so large, could have eaten it for 2 days, very tasty and appealing! I m a good cook, so i can tell their chef is really talented! I'd go back again tomorrow to try the grilled chicken.. Very recommended ❤️

A Persian-Turkish cuisine in the heart of Glasgow which offers high quality dishes! Definitely worth to visit after a tour around the city! We tried the shish kebab and the Kubideh/Jujeh dish which comes with rice and salad! The traditional Persian saffron ice cream went really well as the dessert after our dinner! The staff are very polite and nice and the atmosphere is so oriental if you want to experience something different!

60 pounds for 2 adana platters, 2 sodas, 1 order of chips plus 1 appetizers !? Food was below average. Definitely can find better options near by and for a cheaper price. They also charged me a 10 percent service charge which i didn't agree to. Plus on top of that service charge there was the 20% vat, totaling 15 pounds for just service and tax? smh. Horrible. Don't recommend this place.

Wr recently dined at your restaurant and wanted to provide feedback on my experience. Unfortunately, my visit was marred by some issues. Firstly, the owner's behavior was quite disappointing as they attempted to move our party and reduced the available tables without a courteous explanation or apology. Moreover, the quality of the food left much to be desired. The salad served with all seven courses was noticeably rotten, which was quite concerning for the overall hygiene and freshness of the dishes. Lastly there was lots of smell of smoke, the resturant was lightly smoky. I believe constructive feedback can help improve the dining experience, and I hope you take this input into consideration for the benefit of your future customers."

This place is very dishonest. They added 20% service to our bill at the end of the dinner. I noticed it and asked what why there was a 20% service charge. The waitress told me that it was mandatory by the government. I didn't question that further until I got back to my hotel and googled it. Basically, service charge is not mandatory in Scotland nor mandated by the government. In other words, it's optional. Patrons can tip them, but at the percentage if you want to. 10% is recommended if you find the service was good. To add 20% of my bill by telling me that it was mandated by the government is very dishonest of them. Their food price was already so inflated.

Very average meal. Overpriced for what it was. Flatbread chopped up underneath topping but all in all not a lot of each and for £18 not sure the price represented good value. Bland overpriced food in essence. £5 service charge a liberty I would like the freedom to decide. Restaurant looks good but flatters to deceive.

Shaz, who is the manager or the top waitress, was cheeky and rude, ignored everything we asked for, like napkins, plastic bags.. etc., and she asked one of the staff (Male with curly hair ) to ask us to leave. They claimed they needed the table for the following reservation while two groups of people came in at the same time we arrived, and no one asked them to leave while we had a reservation, and there was a free table in front of us, and she kept putting pressure on her colleague to ask us to leave while we were waiting for a take away order, so I paid around £64 for 2 people to be treated this way! Definitely wont go back to this place and I would not recommend people to go to there! I read the reviews after I posted what I wrote and found out from the reviews that Shaz is the owner!!!! It's such a shame to be an owner of a business, and you are this rude and disrespectful person to your clients!!!!

Perfect food, efficient waiters, and the loveliest decor. The flowers outside are truly exceptional.

Initial impressions were, lovely restaurant, nice atmosphere and that we would probably return. However! we were not told when we arrived, that we had 45 mins to order our food, eat it and get out, as they close at 9.30pm! At 9.25pm, half way through our meal, we were presented with our bill so they could cash up. The next 20 minutes were extremely uncomfortable as we tried to finish our meal, and our wine, while some staff hovered around us waiting to take away any dishes, and hearing the owner/manager loudly say that he wanted to go home! We explained that we should have been told on arrival how long we had to dine. Sadly a lovely day turned a bit sour. My first and last visit to meze meze.

I went to Meze Meze restaurant in Glasgow with my husband. Firstly their prices are so high. Secondly we ordered two mains, and the main I ordered tasted awful. I initially ordered chicken Döner and it was chicken and tomatoes and it wasn’t in the flat bread rather small pieces of the Döner bread were inside the dish. It had no taste and tasted of tomatoes only. And the chicken was very smelly. I asked the staff to change the dish and they had the audacity to say that I ate half of the food. It wasn’t even tasty, and I had 2-3 spoons. They still charged me full amount of the main, and they didn’t replace my meal rather gave me chicken on a stick. It wasn’t even enough to fill me up, and was half cooked plus the portion was so small! I don’t reccomend this place. All the staff there are cheeky, plus don’t know how to cook authentic Turkish or Persian food!

Kobideh (lamb kebab) and the lamb ribs are amazing. They are charcoal grilled meat. Turkish beer is available! The male waiter is nice.

Unplanned visit for a early evening small meal. Decided to have three meze- Delicious Kofte, with ample amount of lamb meat balls in tomato sauce. Something new for us was a hot meze called kashk-e bademanjan, a very tasty pureed aubergine, with mint, walnut and yoghurt (scrumptious) Hummus a perfect companion, along with warmed soft flat bread that was perfectly crisp on the outside. Wish I had taken photos.

I had the Baba ghanoush and the beef kebab takeaway. Baba ghanoush tasted sour as in fermented, off - it was inedible and the kebab was average, not enough spices or salt and the beef was not so tender and on the dry side. The garlic sauce was sour as well (not off, just too much lemon juice) and you couldn't taste the garlic or the mint. The only good thing was the pitta. Maybe they would have got 3 stars if it was a fast food but with restaurant setting and prices this is unacceptable.

Great wee restaurant, good atmosphere and staff are all very friendly. Food was delicious and great portion sizes. We hadn’t booked but managed to come back in half hour for a table. Big menu with so much choice it’s hard to decide will definitely be back again.

C'est exquis et pas besoin d'être à Teheran,Istanbul ou Beyrouth pou apprecier la qualite et la saveur des brochettes poulet ou viande de Meze Meze et de Usta qui sont 2 enseignes adjacentes Cuisine sophistiquée et USTA virnt d'ouvrir il y a quelques jours dans une deco turco-iranienne. Il n'y a oas d'alcool mais on peut s'en passer et les brochettes excellentes avec l'assortiment de légumes et les sauces maison.Tous nos meilleurs voeux de succès à USTA Glasgow....

Had lunch here. I chose the chicken casserole with vegetables. Vegetables were delicious and varied, consisting of red onion, peppers, courgette, aubergine and tomato accompanied by fluffy rice. My partner had lamb shank which was so tender that it fell away from the bone. We both agreed that it was a delicious meal, reasonably priced and served by pleasant and attentive, but unobtrusive staff. This was our first visit and we would dine here again without hesitation.

Last week, I visited this restaurant with my family for the first and sure "last time". It looked nice from outside. unfortunately, from the moment we entered we needed to wait on the door a minute for the waitress. It wasn't that busy though. We faced a pose kindness and smiles during our visit. It was better to provide a good and quick service and food instead of just showing pose smiles. We felt like they wear smiling masks especially the owner and the Skinny waitress with brown hair. THE FOOD: We ordered starters, it was dry and a bit sour humus, sour sauce, not fresh tomatoe 🤮 🤮 🤮, chicken wings nearly row from inside. The main course of meat provided nearly dry and well done more than needed. lukewarm and hard bread. Also, they didn't give us a chance to choose where to sit and it was toooo close to the couple next to us, so we felt no privacy. And in the end you have no choice to REWARD them 10% for that!. That's ridiculous guys.

A proper gem of a find while wandering the streets of Glasgow this afternoon. Very friendly and the best Turkish dining experience I have had. The chilli sauce is also the best. Not too hot but full of flavour. Top marks

Food was okay but nothing special. The hummus was delicious however when we complained about the lamb, they said that’s how most of the customers ate it but never asked how E liked it cooked. Overall wasn’t bad but I’d rather eat cereal.

A busy night in Glasgow everywhere was full and the staff here found us a table for 2 after a wait of 15 mins. Food was beautiful, well presented and tasty. Staff were friendly and prices were very reasonable for what we had.

We chose this because it was close to our hotel on Sauchiehall Street and was on the way to Bellahouston Park. We were immediately greeted by friendly staff, the restaurant looked clean and tidy and well looked after. There were several other tables occupied but it wasn’t full (It was only 5pm!). The waitress seated us quickly, came back to take our drinks order, and as soon as we put the menu cards down she was back to take our order. I chose the mixed doner kebab in a wrap with salad, my daughter choose Mixed doner meat on rice and salad (GF option), both came with a freshly made chilli dip and a separate garlic dip. It was really good food, hot, tasty, the sauces were just the right balance of tasty and spicy, it was very filling but we both managed to finish our plates. 2 mains, 2 drinks and service charge included came to less than £50. I would recommend this highly, we will definitely visit again when we’re next in Glasgow.

We walked in with no booking and we’re accommodated with no issue. We got ezme and kofte for starters. Both amazing. For mains we got mixed kebab and kuzu guvec which was a lamb and veg stew. Portions we’re generous. Food was delicious. Meat was tender and really tasty. If I lived in Glasgow I’d be here every week. Staff were attentive without being on your face.

Grilled meats in a lovely setting with very attentive staff. What more can you ask for? Very handy for pre gig meals at the Hydro.

We ate at Meze Meze last night. We were delayed by traffic arriving over 30 minutes last and the staff could not have been more understanding. Thank goodness they were as the food was fantastic, we shared the Grilled Halloumi & Mixed Doner Meze between 3 and straight away we knew we were in for a treat. The flavours were amazing. For the Main Course my wife had a lamb dish with yoghurt and bread and I had the Zereshk Polo Ba Morgh with my son having a burger as that’s what teenagers eat. The meat was so tender, the flavours were so tasty the rice was beautifully cooked and there was an ample amount to make us all feel that we had eaten to much. There was no way we were leaving any though. The staff were all very attentive without being overbearing, polite and had a smile for every diner. We will definitely be back, many times, as there is an extensive menu to get through.

Great food pity the service didn't match it. 35 minutes for a starter and we had to chase that up, not asked how food was had to ask for another drink. When e complained it took 3 staff to sort it out poorly.

Excellent food but sadly let down by the service. After waiting 35 minutes we still hadn’t received our starters, even though other tables who had arrived much later had. We asked a member of staff who spoke with the kitchen and the food was immediately plated. From then on, we enjoyed our main course but didn’t receive a side order and no member of staff came back to the table to ask if everything was ok, or if we would like more drinks. We noticed other tables were asked. We asked for the bill, which was provided. Still no communication from staff member. On paying we mentioned the poor service and were told that the Halloumi “machine” hadn’t been working. Really? Also she said that delay and lack of communication was down to a language barrier. Just excuses as we watched other guest service and communication. Our complaint also led to staff gathering and using notebooks to hide their faces as they talked about us. Really unnecessary and unacceptable childish behaviour. Sad as service greatly lets down a restaurant which serve’s excellent food.

Made a booking for the evening based on a recommendation of google. A table was waiting for us on arrival. So far so good. We asked to move table as the one we were given had a very wonky top which was dealt with quickly. Drinks order taken. Only half the drinks arrived, with a ‘the other is coming now’ when we asked where it was. 10 minutes later, and after observing the same staff member walking around the restaurant we asked again for the missing drink, to which it was then fetched with a ‘I was busy’ comment. (Er no, you forgot, which would have been a much more truthful response) Food order taken and we requested a break of 15 mins between starters being consumed and the serving of mains. Starters arrived; delicious halloumi, hummus and some amazing kofe meatballs in sauce- these were 10/10! The empty plates were taken away and we could see the chef plating up some main dishes which looked just like our order. We asked about the ‘break’ we had asked for to which the food at the counter was pointed at. The waitress went over to speak to the chef, where an almighty argument began with lots of pointing and ‘looks’ aimed at our table followed. We were left feeling very uncomfortable. The waitress who took our order was summoned to the kitchen area (same one who ‘forgot’ the drinks) who presumably defended her position, as next thing we see, the chef huffs and puts on the hot light to store our meals under, just a few meters from where we are sitting. We were then told that the waitress who took our order thought we wanted our main meals served 15 minutes after the order was taken. Bonkers. The food was then asked for. We couldn’t bear watching it shrivel and dry up under a hot lamp, so it was presented to us. To be fair, the food was lovely, the service just passable. On paying the bill we were presented with the card machine. I popped in my card and entered the pin. No receipt, no ‘thank you’ the waiting staff just walked away. We won’t be returning or recommending!

Wow absolutely amazing Food. Great Family atmosphere, its more of an Iranian style then Turkish but loved it. All the Food was amazing. I like my Chi (Turkish Tea) so I always start my evening with a Chi, theirs was the best I have ever tasted, took me back to Isfahan (Iran). I ordered it twice. Just an amazing place to take your family, highly recommend it and I will definitely go back.

A small size restaurant, reservation required. Food is lovely and comes nice and Hot on the table. Try dolma and kashke bademjan as your starter, it’s lovely. I loved zereshk polo, juje kabab! Staff are very friendly and always there to assist. Enjoyed being here today, will visit again surely.
