Mexican Grill in Dundee City

Small problem with technology caused a delay in our order. The man on the phone was very kind and refunded our order and due to the time of evening offered us a free meal the following night and delivered on his word. Food was amazing and the service was amazing. Defo be eating with use again. Thank you for the great service.

Very surprised to find somewhere serving food at 9pm on a Monday night in Dundee. I was the only customer but they happily welcomed me in. The food was very good and I was served by a really friendly Nepalese guy 😊

I have visited this restourant couple of times during my stay in Dundee and I want to say that this place is the top! The food is amazing, rich of a good taste in every bite and the atmosohere was a real mexican experience. The people who serve are just amazing guys with a big smiles, very kind and helpful. Our second visit here and it didn't disappoint. My wife and I were in Dundee for the football and decided to book a table for 6.30. We were a bit early but it didn't seem to cause any problems on a busy festive night. We were greeted by very attentive staff and a great choice of food on the menu . Great food and drink and we would recommend it to everyone.

Average fare. I doubt that the food has had any contact with an actual Mexican. Nothing was bad, happy with what we got but wouldn't return.

I have been dining at the Mexican Grill for at least 10 years. The food is delicious and well cooked. The staff are second to none. Very polite, know their menu and drinks, of which they are very helpful. I visit for Business lunches as well as personal night time dining. If you are new to Mexican food the staff will help with your order. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough! Thanks to all the staff and their chefs.

Visited with two friends, friendly welcome from. Busy at 5.30 on a Saturday evening. Ordered wine while we looked at menu. Mexican stuffed potato skins, jalapos, mini chicken taco as srarters to share. Grilled chicken fajitas, chicken and sour cream enchiladas, margherita chicken with rice with 2 wraps all food was very good and well presented. Two cocktails were also enjoyed. Long Island and a Ocean Breeze Restaurant continued to fill up during our stay. Njoyed our visit :)

Ordered a delivery, it arrived and the chips were shocking! Never seen any chips quite this bad. Fajitas stated it was peppers and onions yet it was mainly aubergine and courgette, both veg I don't eat. Rice was lovely Fajitas were very spicy but wouldn't order again.

What a wonderful discovery! We were in a mood for a Mexican tonight and decided to try Mexican Grill takeaway. We had burrito and beef fajitas and it was perfect! Would definitely recommend and we'll definitely be back to dine in 👌

Great place hidden away in Dundee City centre. We ordered for starters mozzarella sticks and nachos and for mains we had the chicken fajita and burrito. The food was excellent came out piping hot and quick. I would recommend coming here for Mexican food real value for money and portions were plenty. The Staff are very welcoming and friendly.

What an amazing wee restaurant, had a delicious meal here with friends, food, service and cocktails were A1. From the outside the restaurant is very unassuming and you'd easily walk past however it is definitely worth a visit, a little gem of a place with attentive staff and most of all amazing food and cocktails, really good value for money too.

The food is great - have been here a couple times now and it hasn't disappointed, with flavoursome meals of all different kinds. The portion sizes are perfect. My food wasn't spicy at all, which was expected, as were most of my party's, and I have a fairly low spice tolerance as do they. I highly recommend their cocktails - they're excellent and generously sized considering their price. Mocktails are great too, and are priced lower than the real thing which is always great. The waiters are lovely, although some do lean over the table. They were able to keep track of who ordered what. The ceiling art is cool, and the art on the walls is nice.

As a non-spicy eater, I was able to find something full of flavour but without excessive heat. Everyone in our 10+ party said their meals were delicious.

Hidden gem in Dundee, deserves more recognition. Didnt know where to start with the vast menu, so much choice, delicious food with generous portions right down to the salad and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and great service. Our new favourite.

Sehr leckeres, traditionell mexikanisches Essen. Ich hatte die "Sizzling Tres Enchiladas" – die machen ihrem Namen beim Servieren alle Ehre. ;) Personal ist sehr freundlich, leider wurden ein paar Dinge in unseren Bestellungen vertauscht, daher nur vier Sterne.

Fantastic - we had a special occasion and they really put the effort it in to make it special. The food was delicious, including the affordable dessert menu - I recommend the deep fried ice cream.

My partner and I came here as part of restaurant week and to change things up a little 😊 I agree with the comments about not being fooled by the outside as inside the restaurant is bigger than you think it is 😊 I had the frozen mango daiquiri which was huge and very nommy (little pricier than I'd usually go for but for the size I'd say worth it), nachos to start with generous sauce portions and cheese 😋 and finished on the fajitas which were nice enough 😊 would I recommend this place? If you are a fan of Mexican food then yeah I believe I would ☺️

Easily one of the best meals I've ever had in Dundee. Authentic Mexican food can be hard to find, with most places doing an anglicised approximation. This is the real deal. Couple that with the lovely setting and incredibly friendly and nice staff, this became one of my favourite places in town.

Absolutely dire, chilli beef burrito was too salty to eat, shocking .

Great food always hot and tasty

Food was nice. Pricey for the portion size I'd say. But would have gone again if it weren't for the fact we sat for ages waiting to get the bill...we cleared up the dishes...put our coats on...looked in the direction of several staff...to the point where we decided to get up n walk to the front counter to pay...I then hear an annoyed Irish waiter call put where are you going, what are you doing, where are you going?! He wasn't quiet about it. He soon realised we were at the counter yo pay. No apology and I was far too mortified to confront him at the time. Ruined the experience 😪

Delicious food. My friends and I went there on a Sunday night, not much people so we were able to get a seat immediately. We had burritos and enchiladas. Very yummy and Savoury, quite a big portion too, very worth it. The staff also gave us a free nacho for the table. Amazing service. We also had their sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was very delicious, and not too overly sweet.

Don't be deceived by the exterior this is the best Mexican food in Dundee. You can go by the Pre Theatre menu good value for or go a la carte .there is a good selection of cocktails and are very generous

Don't be fooled by the lacklustre building exterior, this is one of the top places in the city if you like Mexican food and cocktails. My enchiladas were incredible. Perfectly cooked and spiced vegetables and plenty of meat filling. Additionally, my Long Island Iced Tea was as good as I've ever had, and it was a big glass full at a very reasonable price. Can't find any faults with this place 100% do not miss out.

Another delicious delivery from Mexican grill. GF had the mixed Jajitas (her go to dish) and I decided to go for the Enchelada Verde with chilli....First time I've had it and was excellent. Verde was right heat for me and very very tasty. GF said the Fajitas were also delicious (as usual) although she did say that the tortillas are a wee bit small and 4 is not quite enough but ordering 4 more is too many #fussy. Would definitely recommend 👍

Been coming to this place since 2013, even under different names/owners but the same menu and quality of food and service. It's a must when I visit Dundee as a fan of Mexican food and it's so much more enjoyable because it's good value for money. It's simplicity is its selling point also, I can't wait to come back!

All the food was covered in a thick tomato sauce and enough cheese to kill an elephant. Not Mexican and not grilled.

Went to Mexican Grill with the family while on Holiday in Dundee. The meals where excellent. Good value for money and the flavour were eye opening and the meat well prepared and cooked exactly to perfection. The staff were very polite, friendly and personable. Hope we get a chance to visit again and enjoy different items off the menu next time.

Nice quiet Mexican in Dundee. There was table space when other restaurants were fully booked. Good to know for last minute outings. Staff were friendly and helpful. Might benefit with chilling white wines a little longer.

There are very few vegetarian / vegan options on the menu so we had to try the veg burrito which was good.

Food was amazingly tasty, we get free nachos with awesome salsa before our mains come. Oo aaa. Definitely recommend

Good service, great food and large portions

Ended having a bit of awkward time with the staff here.The alternative option to their “ Grilled chicken Nacho supremo” (starter) chilli bean is chilli beef mince & beans. So me not being aware that “in here chilli bean means chilli beef & bean” cost me a small dispute. How naive of me... Anyway they returned the dish to serve me... Beans.... In a chilli sauce! With exactly the same sides as before I’ve spent near ten minutes at the table writing this. There has been a tenner on the table for 20 minutes. Pretty lazy service... Wont be back.

Eaten here a few times and it never disappoints, food is always amazing and the service from the incredibly well mannered young Irish waiter is just amazing! Really looks after you so well, proper hearty Mexican food, definitely worth a visit, can’t fault it.

Very quirky resturant serving yummy good & charming staff..worth a visit.

We went as a party of 8 for a work get together. Most of us chose the fajitas and all of us were disappointed. The tables are not deep enough to accommodate sizzling plates, and mine was spitting hot oil at me as I tried to shuffle it away from where it had been placed by my left arm. Lots of the chicken was sticking to the plate as it was too hot. The chicken itself was the biggest let down, it was very, very dry and very chewy so after 3 small pieces I gave up and just ate the peppers and onions. At the end of the meal there was a LOT of chicken left on all plates. When we spoke to the waiter about it, he said that the chicken is boiled. I've never had boiled chicken, but it was awful. This wasn't my first time here and I've been disappointed in the past so I certainly won't recommend Mexican grill, or return for another disappointment.
