Stayed here for a mystery weekend and what a pleasant surprise. The double room I had was exceptionally clean as was the modern en suite. The food in the restaurant was delicious with a large choice for each course. Breakfast had a great range and the eggs were cooked to order. I would definitely stay here again.

Although we did not stay at the hotel, as a day visitor, we once again chose it as our lunch stop, as they cater for non residents. We oredered at the bar from the friendly barman who put everything into the till that had all the menues entered. My wife doesn't like horseradish source and that was noted and not put on the sandwhiches. Within minutes of ordering our drinks were delivered to us. Only a few minutes after that we were both servered our freshly made sandwiches, which were accompanied by fresh salad and very tasty chipped potatoes that were different to the norm, bing cut like a "U" shape. I assume they were double cooked as they were so crispy and nice. Needless to say therewas no waste from us. The whole lounge area was clean and tidy. The toilets were spotless with a great feature of door handles that put a small amount of anti bacterial gel onto your hands as you leave. We would recommend, very highly, The Merrion, for a day out lunch with plenty of choice. Score 10/10

One of the nicest 3 star hotels I have visited in the U.K. Excellent location overlooking the sea. Beach 50 foot away. Right in the heart of all the action. Many café bars, restaurants and bars just round the corner. Also has the most free car parking spaces. Get there early, first come first basis. Very good dining experience, breakfast is fab. Evening meal not bad also. Some nice touches in the bar, dining and reception areas, very comfortable. It has a 24 hour bar for residents. Toilets a joy. Room experience very pleasant. Comfortable beds and high pressure shower with plenty of hot water. The staff here really make the place and must be congratulated for their professionalism and friendliness. Pat on the back for the management of this establishment.

We went to the Merrion for our granddaughters 21st Birthday Dinner Party. Absolutely brilliant food, excellent Staff. This hotel has a real heart, a passion. If you haven't visited for a while, you need to check it out. The restaurant has changed, open plan, so you can watch the expertise of the wonderful Chef's at work. Food was delicious, couldn't fault it, excellent choice on the Menu, and good value, must be the best place to eat in Llandudno.

Myself and my partner live locally and like to take an hour to ourselves on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy a coffee and a slice of cake and just watch the world go by. This week we'd gone for a walk along Llandudno Prom, and spotted the afternoon tea sign outside the Merrion. We'd never been in before so thought we'd give it a try. The cake was advertised as homemade, and certainly tasted it (in the best possible way!). It was a lovely chocolate cake, and although my eyes tend to be bigger than my belly, the slice was just the right size to stop on the right side of too much. The coffee also very good, and the member of staff that served us was friendly and professional. What we saw of the hotel was spotless, and the décor very tasteful. This may sound a bit odd, but the icing on the cake was the toilets. I've found that the loos can sometimes let the nicest of establishments down, especially in the public areas, but these were very modern and absolutely immaculate with clever door handles that dispense anti-bac gel as you leave. Although the hotel is on the prom, we must've walked past it a hundred times before. I'm really glad we noticed it this time and went in- we'll definitely be going back! (I can't rate the room facilities obviously, as we weren't there are residents)

Booked in for family Christmas lunch yesterday. Starters passable, but our faces dropped at the Turkey dinner. Good slices of Turkey - the only positive. Dishwasher gravy, a thin slice of pink stuff - sausage meat? Some carrot slices, 3-4sprouts, two tiny rock hard roast potatoes and a handful of potato crisps. Yes, potato crisps with Christmas dinner!!!!!!!!! Certainly will give this eating place a wide berth in future. What makes it worse is that we are local customers, not tourists on some cheap Turkey and Tinsel outing!!!!!!!

We were walking on the front and we saw the sign for morning coffee, so we wandered in. The place is spotless unlike the hotel where we were resident, The Grand Hotel. The service was excellent. We both took the Victoria sponge cake. I had a latte and my wife had breakfast tea. Refreshed and feeling like valued customers we paid the bill. Just £6. What a bargain. Thank you.

Cosy cafe. Not many tables and can get quite busy. Staff friendly and helpful. Nice bit of music in the background. Breakfast was nice but would have been good to have the option of a poached egg. Only option was fried. Enjoyed my milkshake and my partner enjoyed his coffee. Fair value for money given the tourist area. No parking directly outside but carparks closeby and road parking a way up the road.

Tried to charge for a squeeze of Costco ketchup on my son’s chips after I spent £15 on drinks and chips. It’s easy to spend my hard earned money ANYWHERE else. Usually really like going out of my way to support local independent business that go the extra mile to attract more tourists to the area…. Won’t be coming back here unfortunately. Shame as the location is great. Perhaps this is a little petty, but I thought it just plain mean.

This is just the most wonderful place..! Afternoon tea today - their own-blend leaf tea was to die for. Best "cuppa" we've had in a long time. The fixed-price afternoon tea came with our choice of sandwich from the main menu, a choice of home-made cake, and an extremely generous portion of bara brith. scones & Welsh cakes. Do this at least once in your life. The quality is exceptional as is the customer-service - real nice people working here. Vert traditional tea-room setting - about 20 covers inside? Seating also available outside and their are quite extensive trails up & behind the property to walk off some of the carbs ;) If you're visiting the Conwy Valley this needs to be on your list.
