although we only live minutes from this hotel, it was somewhere my wife had always wanted to go to. we first went for a valentines meal and bed and breakfastabout 4 or 5 years ago, what can i say, exellent staff, food, beautiful historic room, my wife asked for the "gables" which is apperently haunted by a ghost of a monk, well weve been and stayed in that room about 4 times now, and never seen or heard anything (much to my wifes dissapointment!) although we did get chatting in the bar to a couple who had stayed there at a familys wedding, and the guy said he had seen something in their room, too many spirits? from a bottle or did he really see a ghost, it is a beautiul old building, steeped in history, we are lucky its just on our doorstep, and for a special night, it is perfect, the rooms the food and the staff, and it is not overpriced

Food high quality and well served, attention to detail was shown at all times. Restaurant had almost medieval features but service was 21st century. It was a delight to eat there and very good value for money!

The cooked breakfast very good except for the black pudding which was awful. The first time it was dried up and tasted like fibre board – we mentioned it and the following morning it was fresher but far from flavoursome.(Personal hint – M&S do excellent black pudding, four portions for £1.25 – grill it for 6 mins a side – lovely!) Cereals and an odd piece of fruit were delivered to the table in a paper bag – it felt like a Salvation Army handout - what is wrong with a plate? We did not receive our chosen fruit on the first day and only one small orange the second day. Croissants were listed but never materialised. Condiments were supplied in little paper sachets ( very fiddly) and sauces in annoying plastic sachets – very down-market. What is wrong with salt and pepper pots, sauce bottles etc (can be wiped down/sanitised)? Toast was just warm dry bread so we asked for it to be brown – it came back a bit better but nowhere near brown enough, so we gave up. Waiting staff were not wearing face coverings but came too close for comfort when serving dishes – which made us feel uncomfortable. Two course dinner pre-booked at £15 a head was excellent.

Shabby room. Inattentive staff. Tacky furnishings. Quite shocking. Such a waste of a potentially fabulous venue.

We were looking for an overnight stay while working in Telford and having read a few reviews of Travelodges, decided to give this place a try, for about the same price. What a brilliant find. The building is out of the way and very impressive looking. The staff are very friendly, from the receptionist and restaurant staff. We thought that an old Manor House might be cold and draughty. Totally the opposite. Cosy straight away, up a spiral staircase to our room. Very warm straight away, loads of very hot water for baths . Dinner was excellent, the staff very friendly. Early start meant we didn’t have breakfast but it was served from 7am. Just couldn’t be bothered to get up. Will definitely be going back

We booked afternoon tea for our mothers birthday the staff were lovely and very helpful and the food was excellent, second time we have had afternoon tea there and both times have been excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and did not feel rushed and the lady who had prepared the food came to ask how we had enjoyed it. Will be going again soon.

I am from Birmingham and have not been out to eat in Telford since last 3years but this place has become the best and on my top list for eating. If you like food served 100% with quality and filling this is the place. This place deserves a 10/10 rating.

CLOSED as of Autumn 2023 the area has been turned into another 'room' for the community centre to hire/rent out. Part of the Community Centre - and as such run by volunteers. Currently generally open weekday mornings till about 1PM. Menu includes hot and cold drinks, sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, crisps snacks and cake. In the summer months the Leegomery Community Garden alongside the building is home to veg and flowers grown by and for the community. Check community centre social media for updates and changes The Woodland Tea Room is next to the Silkin Way and one of the main shared use cycling and walking routes. A lovely airy venue, and friendly service. Currently also a #warmroom. One of the many in Telford. It may well mark 5 stars with an increase in menu and opening hours

Great little pub with lots going for it, very fairly priced on drinks. The future is bright for this venue. Keep your eyes and ears open. Once they get the kitchen facility up and running, it's gonna be a great place to eat too.
