Mercure Livingston Hotel in West Lothian

Fantastic night stay, staff so friendly and welcoming. Bed was very comfy. Breakfast was quick with being buffet style. Would recommend.

The thing that impressed us most about this hotel initially was the friendly welcome (thank you Nicola & Sophie) followed by great service in the restaurant & bar (Thank you to Mo & chef Ash). We stayed one night and our evening meal was really delicious with super vegan / veggie options including vegan wine 😋. Definitely go for the meal deal (2 courses for £20 or 3 courses for £25). We prepaid £12 for breakfast which offered a good selection of options including continental and full breakfast. Again lovely, friendly efficient service from the team (great job Abigail, Lisa & Jessica). The accommodation was great for what we needed, basic but for a three star hotel we were very happy with the facilities. We'd definitely stay again and would say that the main selling point of this cosy hotel has got to be a combination of the team looking after you (top notch) and the evening meal in particular was superb.

After a mediocre 2 nights of our coach tour ( which I get is challenging) at the hotel Gary and his team pulled it out the bag.we had 2 nights of processed food that was lukewarm, we were presented with an excellent meal , Christmas quiz and music, Gary personally went round each table apologising for the previous nights and checking we were all okay, in short he listened to our complaints and made the necessary adjustments to make our stay more enjoyable. The hotel itself is ideally situated in between Glasgow and Edinburgh which was great for our Xmas market visits. The rooms were clean and tidy with comfortable beds. A special mention to Rebecca on reception who went above and beyond to assist me and of course Asa the bar person who was friendly, courteous and really good at his job.

All round excellent hotel - location, staff & rooms! We were a coach party of Ladies there for the nearby shopping centre/outlets, and an overnight. We had a pre-organised 3 course meal & private disco at night too. I have to say from start to finish the Staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful & efficient. The hotel itself was great too - good rooms & food. The Manager was fab, very friendly, and engaged well with both Staff & Guests. A nice thing to see, makes a good atmosphere all round. An excellent party night had by all. Danced until our feet hurt!! - Even dragged the Manager & Barman up for a dance as well (sorry, about that......ha ha!!) On that note, the DJ (Terry) was brilliant too! Overall a great place to stay, so I would like to pass on a huge THANK YOU on behalf of all the ladies. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone, and we will see you same time next year!

On arrival at the hotel the reception was clean and modern the bar/restaurant was also modern that was only area money has been spent on we got to our room and were surprised to see how outdated it was threadbare carpet holes in walls dirty walls the bathroom fan hadn’t been dusted for months by the look of it also our windows didn’t open which I’m sure is against fire regulations,got up in the morning to go out and was greeted by the smell of cooking coming from the other rooms that were occupied by refugees that the hotel didn’t tell us about which would of put us off staying there we arrived back at the hotel later that night to find the corridor leading to our room filled with people blocking our way and blatantly dealing drugs to each other we had our 4 year old daughter with us who wasn’t very keen on staying after walking through that situation all in all for £144 a night this hotel should be ashamed of itself.

Hotel staff lovely. Ordered food bhaji was raw. And chicken was burnt. Waitress said kitchen can make you more bhaji. Then we did not see her again. I was also re charged for room which was corrected. It is very clean hotel

Stayed here two nights. Can't fault the staff, the food menu was fine, the breakfast (Inc.) was comprehensive, the bed clean and comfortable. The public areas were reasonably smart but the hotel is well overdue for a refurbishment. The bedroom was tired, paint peeling and generally sad looking. The internal quadrangle has some rubbish and detached soffit board from the roof. I feel the staff are doing a great job on a limited budget. The hotel building is not up to Mercure standards. I wouldn't book it again.

Staff were very kind and helpful From entry greeted with Arletas lovely smile then Nikki who I found to be a real gem! They made it so much easier to relax due to their assistance and above and beyond care. Great menu with lovely Lisa serving up smiles, help and knowledge to keep me right, gluten free menu available courteous service throughout, Nikki, Arleta, Rebecca, all sharing tips for the best experience and Asa as well as Joy and Abigail All made me feel like part of a warm and friendly family. So helpful cannot fault anyone or anything due to these beautiful people. Rooms are clean, environment is welcoming and breakfast will never be the same, (until my next visit;) Absolutely Amazing experience even better were the staff. Thank You All for making it Such a Special treat!

Went here for our Christmas party night on Saturday 2nd. No welcome drink they had run out and although they said they would bring it to our table they never. Dessert was served at 10pm!! The bar was a 30 min wait for a drink and l spoke to a rather unfriendly lady staff member standing at the bar not serving just observing, l said that l had stood for 20 mins and the queue had not moved. She said they had a large order to get out. I didn't bother with a drink and went home shortly after. Our table was an afterthought at the very back of the room with the lights still on and full. The whole night was a disorganised mess. From dinner taking 3 hrs to serve and yes it was cold to the bar service of lack of it. I will not be back and would never recommend anyone have a xmas night out here and lve only listed the highlights !
