Hadn’t tried Lithuanian food before, but what they served up here was delicious. Chicken schnitzel with cheese was great, and the cepelini potato dumplings were very tasty. For dessert we had the apple pie and Napoleon cake. Lovely!

Bought the chicken shish for takeaway and was shocked when I opened the box at home to find 3 or 4 small pieces of OVEN COOKED chicken (bearing in mind it’s meant to be grilled). The chicken was not even fresh. It looked like it had been been left in a fridge for days and taken out and thrown in an oven. Strongly advise either eating elsewhere or just making your own chicken shish.

Excellent value and good beer, grimberger and Lithuanian (svyturis) beer on tap. Food tasty and good variety. Street view but interior is quite nice and spacy for this size of place. Don't expect white gloves and thousand welcomes but authentic honesty and no fuss from Boltic states. Cheers

We came here as a large party a week before Christmas - as my girlfriend is Lithuanian and we'd been meaning to look for Lithuanian options in Essex. The rest of the group were English and didn't know what to expect from a Lithuanian restaurant, but in the end all the food went down really well - delicious beer snacks to begin with (friend bread with loads of garlic and cheese), some tasty smoked herring and big portions of thing such as potato pancakes, dumplings, schnitzels etc. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the food. Decor of the restaurant was clean and modern and service was good - they also didn't mind that we had brought out own Christmas crackers! Food was really tasty and beer and shots were good - I'd recommend this place not just to people interested in Eastern European food but any Brits looking for good value comfort food that's a little different!

We went to the street to go to a restaurant nearby which was closed. It was 5:30pm on Sunday and the restaurant was empty. My partner said the usual:”It’s empty, let’s not go in there.” I saw it was a Lithuanian restaurant and decided to go in anyway. When we got in, the restaurant have a pleasant vibe, cool but homie the waitress was in a great mood and explained the dishes. The potato mains might sound a bit strange but not different from a very good harsh brown(the ones our grandmas would make from scratch!) and some really different dishes. I had stuffed cabbage, partner chicken schnitzel with cheese and ham and my sister the cod- really beautiful dishes, good portions and great taste. Unnecessary to say that after 15 minutes we were there a party 8 plus another of 4 and other table of 3 almost filled the restaurant proving my partner wrong- not that I cared as the starters were being served and were delicious. It’s nice to see a good restaurant being recognised. We will become regulars! You can only discover pearls if you dive!

Grey district was not feeling very welcoming as for coming for a first time. But inside was comfy and cozy, not much customers, so we could feel privately. A food was amazing and price for it was really acceptable. Will return again. Higly recommend

We came to the restaurant, we were not greeted with a smile or anything like that. Waitress who served us was very rude and was not very polite when we asked questions. When we got our food in one of the dishes we found a hair.. so that wasn't very enjoyable experience.. Usually we enjoy our experience in this restaurant, as food is really nice, but this time service and food was not to the standard...

We went to Memel on the spur of the moment, as we decided to go out for dinner on Valentines night instead of cooking, and didn't really fancy our usual Chinese or Indian restaurants and couldn't really expect to get in there on such short notice. I'd been passed this restaurant a few times and it was usually quiet, so I thought we may be lucky. We were. Just as we got the last table. we haven't eaten Lithuanian cuisine before, so it was all new. We went in for all three courses, which were all delicious and unusual, plenty in each portion and such good value. The service was prompt and attentive, and couldn't fault the evening. We will certainly go back again when we want a change, and can recommend it.

The atmosphere, service, prices and food are excellent. I would like to see vegan and vegetarian food marked on the menu but this is a small restaurant, so it would be unfair to expect too much so soon after it as opened. Most of the customers seem to be families, though this is a romantic restaurant. The toilets are sufficient for a small restaurant. The decor is very stylish, with photographs of Klaipeda, Lithuania and the seating is the most comfortable that I have ever sat on in a restaurant. The food style is home cooked Lithuanian. I explained to the waitress that I am vegan and she had a meal specially prepared for me. This is easily the best Lithuanian style food restaurant that I have been to and I have been to many restaurants in Lithuania! It is easy to find from Grays railway station and is about 200 metres walk from there. The prices are extremely cheap for the quality of food that you get.

We ordered 4 meals and were sat at the table waiting. After about 10 minutes a staff member came over and said sorry we have no spring onions for the loaded chips. (This is my husbands favourite part) so he said can I cancel them and get a refund and just order some peri chips. So he went back up to the till, had to pay for the peri chips but then had to complete a paper form with his details on for them to process a refund which he will get in 3-5 days! How backwards is that? In addition where it said reason for refund, the staff member wrote “customer changed mind” we we only changed our mind because they didn’t have the ingredients. Then when the meal came the rainbow slaw should just have been called a side salad as it was bone dry with no dressing whatsoever. My husband was very disappointed with the meal. Also there is only 1 tap in the ladies toilets that works and that came out in a dribble with the little soap that came out the soap dispenser.

The queue was too long. By the time we had queued to pay for the food and sat down it was cold. Finding a clean table was nearly impossible. The food was bland. The Danish Pastry was as hard as concrete. Most of the coffee machines were switched off causing further queues Never again!!!
