what a wonderful location. sublime decor - in both the entrance to the hotel and the restaurant itself. a fusion menu offered - Chinese, Japanese, Asian mix with plenty of wine, sake, beer, tea etc. Enjoyed tuna sashimi - melted in the mouth, soft shell crab futomaki, prawn dim sum and wild mushroom dumpling and duck ho fun noodle. washed down with a glass of rose wine and followed by flavoursome coffee. Wonderful service - so good to visit and enjoy a belated birthday celebration.

If I am being honest the food was overwhelmingly bad for the price in which it was sold for. The food lacked flavour. which was highlighted to the staff however they did not do anything to rectify this issue or see if there was any alternatives. If i am being honest the could have spent the service charge alone in my local takeaway and have enjoyed the food much more than I did here. Overpriced and not worth it at all

Mei Ume is one of my favourite spots to dine in London. I have been coming to the restaurant a number of times over a number of years and it has consistently delivered. The food is always of exceptional quality and taste, and the service always excellent, timely, attentive and engaged without being over the top or coming across as forced or disingenuous. The venue, while grand and elegant, has a very welcoming, cozy and understated feel which is perfect for everything from a date to a larger group dinner. I have had many great dining experience here. Keep up the great work Mei Ume team.

We ate at Mei Ume to celebrate my daughter's birthday and were left disappointed with the whole experience. We have eaten there in the past and enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere. On this occasion, we checked the menu on the Web site before going and were pleased to see that it hadn't changed. On arrival we were given a completely different menu and no separate vegetarian menu. When I asked what vegetarian or vegan options they had, without nuts, I was told by the server to read through all the codes after each dish to work it out for myself! This is a 5 star hotel restaurant and not a takeaway sandwich shop. I expected a more helpful response. We ordered our food, asking for a couple of starters to be served first then asked for the rest to be served together after the starters. Everything arrived at the same time so we sent the main courses back. They arrived later, and appeared to be freshly cooked rather than reheated. In terms of quality, the food was good, but not spectacular. Value was not great, as portions are small and prices high. There just wasn't anything special about it, not even the presentation. Service was really poor. Seems the restaurant was understaffed. It took two requests for the bill to arrive and quite a while for someone to take payment. After paying and ready to leave, our complimentary birthday scoop of ice cream arrived which just felt like an afterthought. I did provide feedback through OpenTable and asked that they contact me. That was 2 weeks ago and I've heard nothing so that sums up what they think of customers. Such a shame as we visit Four Seasons regularly and we were hoping to celebrate another family birthday there soon. However I think our money might be better spent elsewhere unless Mei Ume can improve their offering.

The restaurant decor is beautiful… great location inside of the Four Seasons Trinity Square. The food was hit and miss, overall overpriced. Service was pleasant but very inefficient, they were very slow in bringing out our mains- as well as the bill. But the free dessert of ice cream mochis were a nice touch. Probably wouldn't be back, due to the slow service, and the food wasn’t exceptional for the high prices.

We were so looking forward to our visit to Mei Ume, but sadly left feeling totally underwhelmed. We found the food to be distinctly average, and in places lacking flavour. For the price we paid, we expected a far far better experience. Location of the restaurant, within the Four Seasons hotel, is as you would expect, exquisite. Other main plus point is the standard of staff, an excellent performance all round. We won’t be going back I’m afraid, it’s not the cost that bothers us, it’s the lack of value for money and distinctly average food.

Restaurant was fairly quiet, which was to be expected for a Tuesday lunchtime, nice setting, excellent food. Highlights were the ribs for starter, black cod and the beef noodles. Would recommend.

The settling was stunning. The food was hit and miss, overall overpriced. The service was pleasant but very inefficient - they made 5 mistakes in total with our orders across the orders and drinks, and weren't timely or efficient in rectifying this - as a result we asked for the service charged to be taken from the bill, which a managed came over and queried in a slightly accusatory way, worryingly unaware that there had been so many problems. Probably wouldn't be back.

Went to Mei Ume for the first time to celebrate my wife’s big birthday so was the perfect occasion. The restaurant stood up to our expectations and all our family loved it . The venue is in a beautiful property within the Four seasons hotel so gives one a “ sense of occasion “. Food and service was excellent especially since it catered very well for some who very vegetarians. Will definitely go back there very soon .

We're pretty picky with our Asian cuisine and have generally been disappointed with the options for good Chinese in London (outside Chinatown, of course!) Mei Ume however was the best meal we've had for a while, every dish was delicious, nicely presented and well-sized. The staff was also great, considerate yet attentive and in a pleasant setting.
