Everything was to my liking! Food was good, service was good and attentive. The atmosphere is noisy and the space is small - just a heads up, these things didn't bother us during our dinner.

Excellent service and food. Seriously, very good. Better than you are likely to experience in Italy.

"Fratello" minore di "Osteria Basilico" è aperto dal 1998 e si mangiano antipasti squisiti: il pane casereccio sempre fresco con un olio extravergine d'oliva è già sublime, il mio piatto preferito è composto da calamari alla griglia con pomodorini freschi e rughetta. Per concludere in bellezza il tortino con cuore di cioccolato è il più buono che abbia mai mangiato. Bella gente, si incontrano anche attori e cantanti famosi se si è fortunati e il personale è fantastico.

Tasty and authentic florentine food.

What a let down. Met my kids in Portobello for a mooch and booked this place. It is so cramped, especially in the back area you are on top of each other, almost claustrophobic. They pack you in like sardines. A table for 4 with 8 people, 2 on a corner! We were 5 on a small 4 with me squished by the window at the end. Absolutely nothing charming about being cramped. The food was ok, mine was so salty. Should have sent it back but was hungry. Even one of the Italian big chains would cook a better veal in breadcrumbs. Was a like salty sole of your shoe! Avoid if you can, there are so so many nice spots around that area.

The atmosphere is pleasant, especially due to the location, which really shines on a sunny day. The food is good, though there’s room for improvement—particularly with the house cheesecake, which could be better. Overall, it didn’t quite feel worth the money, but it wasn’t a bad experience either. Staff were nice and friendly.

If you want to find real Italian cuisine in London this is the right place, exquisite dishes with the flavors of traditional Italian! There is no lack of kindness but above all the friendliness of the waiters (strictly Italian!) Luca and Andrea the best! Normal prices! Good guys!

One of my favourite restaurants. The food is excellent and the tiramisu is one of the best that I have had. All my friends enjoyed their meal. Although it was busy our waiter, Luca, served us efficiently and effortlessly, with a sense of humour. Grazie millie!

Lovely experience at Mediterraneo. Exactly how I remembered it 10+ years ago. We celebrated our daughter s birthday and they made us feel special.

I cannot recommend Medi enough. The food is always absolutely fantastic. No matter what, if you have the pasta, the fish or the meat - everything is delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. If you love white wine I’d recommend the Gavi di Gavi. As always, I will be back :)

Average at best food, but the service was the big let down unfortunately. Was a table of 8 looking to celebrate however table wasn't ready when we arrived, service throughout the meal was very poor and then to finish it off we were kicked out before we could order dessert (well - we could order dessert but we have 5 mins to eat it).

Had lunch here during our visit to the Portobello Rd Market...had the bruschetta as a starter, then the taglioloni with black truffle and the veal milanese with salad, finishing up with the tiramisu...Nina and Sara provided great service and the food was delicious! Including a bottle of water and a Rosè, the bill came to about £120.

Family meal to celebrate a birthday, we were squashed onto a too small table. Very good food but service was awful, the waitress couldn’t have been ruder if she had tried. Plates were shoved on the table, leaning over people very aggressively and a hot drink perched on the edge of the table so I just caught it. She seemed to sneer at a home made cake one of the kids had made. I used to like it here but will not come back in a hurry. A shame as nice menu and good food but why would you go somewhere with such rude service that’s clearly tolerated.

Been many times. Buzzy restaurant that attracts a loyal regular customer base and has good service (despite some of the reviews on service) very helpful and friendly staff. Unfortunately the food is average quality at best. Tuna and avocado tartare was quite tasteless (more on that later). Veal milanese over crispy, dry meat with no flavour. I had about two pieces and left the rest. I’d be surprised if they use any seasoning. On plus the pasta was fresh and arrabita sauce was full of flavour. We shared the food so it was enough for us. Skipped dessert and came away thinking what an average meal - don’t mind the prices if it’s quality but you can get much better Italian food from local restaurants at much lower prices. Unfortunately I had a terrible upset stomach and was sick later on that night when I got home and it could only have been the tuna tartare which could not possibly have been fresh or had not been stored properly. I no longer trust this restaurant and will not be returning. I think this place is living on its name and Notting Hill location and what seems to be a loyal customer base but food coming out of kitchen is extremely disappointing and average.

Cosy place with an inspiration from traditional Italian trattorias. Excellent food, the frutti Di mare pasta is excellent in particular and the tiramisu is exceptional! The staff is brilliant and friendly and contributes to a great experience. Highly recommended, especially for a date night or an evening with friends!

I highly recommend Mediterraneo restaurant! I felt at home from the beginning... a really appreciated welcome with a glass of prosecco, excellent quality of food, professional service and a friendly atmosphere!

Great location and very friendly staff. However, the food was really not good. As starter we had a mozzarella and tomato which was rather tasteless, and some dish that was a combination of ham and tuna. It looked like a plate of hummus, but it turned out it was thin slices of ham, smothered in a thick layer of tuna paste, the stuff that you would normally put on a cracker. The tuna taste was overwhelming, they may as well had left out the ham. As starter we had a pasta with mushrooms and meat, which was extremely creamy and salty. The desert was a tiramisu that was again nothing but cream. It tasted good, but my stomach made it abundantly clear that it would have been a better idea if I had skipped that. It’s a shame, all the staff in the restaurant are really friendly and helpful, and they make for a nice atmosphere. But the food that came out of the kitchen was below standard, and we were charged a lot of money for it. I’m afraid I won’t be going back here again

Great Italian local Linguine al vongole!!!

Good food ruined by bad service. If your table reservations is only for 2 hours then it should say on your reservation you can only be there for two hours and the you get kicked out after that. Will never EVER eat there again. Yet the table next to us who was there before was not told to leave. Horrible horrible way to treat paying customers.

Eravamo qui per caso, la cameriera ci ha accolto col sorriso e i proprietari parlano tra loro in italiano, non come in molti ristoranti della zona in cui di italiano hanno solo il nome delle portate sul menu. Prezzi in linea con i ristoranti londinesi, ne vale la pena se vi manca la cucina italiana e avete fatto indigestione di fish & chips!

Great food (pasta with trifle was amazing and well cook al dente) and service very good. We came here after asking for a table in osteria basilica were we had a terrible experience asking for a table. We won with the change.

Arrived at 3:00pm yesterday with party of six. Everybody’s food was great as was the service worthy of special mention the Vitello Tonnato and the veal chop. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

I ate a good soup but also two desserts, a Panna cotta and a Tiramisu. I've probably eaten at over 1500 restaurants across the UK and at least 50% have been Italian restaurants. More than 95% of the time I don't go back to the same restaurant because there are so many and you have a plenty of choice... however, this is one of the restaurants I would love to go back just for that tiramisu that was brilliant. The pannacotta was good but I have eaten MUCH better in other restaurants. The service is really a problem. If you don't want to wait for the waiter to come from where he left to smoke, you can get up to order something from the bar where a young lady is on the phone and playing poker...:))))

First time ordering food from this place via Uber eats. All I can say is 1.) tastes awful 2.) fake Italian pasta (tasted like Indian) 3.) pasta sauce is so bad 4.) weirdest seafood pasta ever as there are loads of ham (how does this be considered as “seafood”?)

I had take away. So only judging the food based on that. Milanese was superb. Really well salted and crispy surprisingly for a take away. Casio e Pepe was ok. A bit too creamy and less flavors of pepper than it should be. The tagliolini ragout was a waste of money. Completely flavorless and wet. Took a bite and threw it away. Maybe sitting in would be different.

Amazing food! The best meal I have had in the 10 days I have been in London from the USA. Wish I found them earlier so I could come more often. Beautifully done! Do not miss this treat.

The most horrific pasta Ive ever had. Overcooked, sloppy and lacking flavor. & £20 for pasta and thats what you get. Very dissapointed and would never eat here again. Ruined my apetite completely. Dont waste your time and money

Food was ok, looked like frozen food cooked, especially the pizza, when I asked for one change in a dish, they said they can’t because it’s already made. NO service whatsoever apart from dropping the food on the table and yet charging a service charge. We had empty plates/bowls on our table for a while. All the staff look pretty miserable!

Hands down the best Italian restaurant in London. You won't find better quality food, a more diverse wine selection and authentic ingredients. The service is always exceptional whether you're in a large party or a couple. If you visit, you absolutely must have the calamari!

We went to this restaurant on recommendation and were not disappointed. Delicious, authentic food, customer service was delightful and attentive. The owner even helped us choose a wine to compliment our meal! Great atmosphere, loved every mouthful. Looking forward to coming back!

Gosh, just an update here - I can not believe the owner would actually respond to another customers review like this! We were looking forward to being treated to a Father’s Day lunch at this long standing restaurant where we used to eat very regularly for many years. Our starters were good. Calamari were crisp. Excellent burrata Pugliese. However, the polpette di Vitello arrived luke warm. When my husband commented to the waiter, he was (quite correctly) told that the serving dish was hot. There was an arrogance in the attitude to a legitimate complaint that made us feel that the customer can never be right, even when he has a just cause, as we indeed had. My cotoletta Di vitello alla Milanese was dry and overcooked. The cheesecake had an unpleasant aftertaste and was served with a tasteless, over-sweet strawberry sauce. The service was very sluggish, despite the large number of staff. We felt that this has become an overpriced, very mediocre restaurant

Cosy restaurant with outstandingly delicious food and freshly made bread. Good selection of wines. Worth visiting, and after dinner have a nice walk along Notting Hill.
