Never seams to be open. Twice I've tried when Google said it was open and told they were shut

Not enough mayo on the donner and chips. Maybe it’s because I’m new to the area but I’m used to way more mayo that covers everything not just 1/4 of the food 🤷🏻‍♀️👌🏻😂 will try again sometime to see if you’ve taken the advice. The goal is I shouldn’t need to get my mayo out the fridge to cover the dry meat and chips 🙌🏻✌🏻😂

Often get a fish and chip lunch from here as I work nearby. I order by phone and collect 20 mins later. We get lovely fresh fish, cooked to order, plenty of chips, all nicely cooked. Decent curry sauce too. Highly recommended. Be aware that its cash only though.

The best fish and chips in biggleswade. Fairly priced, and the big man behind it all is an absolute legend. He cracks me up every time. Same time next year 🤣

Lovely freshly cooked fish, which was a very generous portion. We had a small portion of chips between 2 of us and there was more than enough! Only issue is it is cash only so we had to go to the town to a cash point. First time I've used in a long while, I believe it has changed hands, it is clean and looks well kept. I would definitely use the place again.

Chips were overcooked, burnt and dry. unpalatable and a total waste of money.

First time coming here, BEST CHIPS EVER! They cooked fresh and are so nice and crispy! They even leave those little crispy bits in which add a nice touch. Savoloy had flavour too! Would defo be my top choice if i lived in the area

Ordered delivery from here last night via UberEats. My first issue is that, according to the app, our food was out of the restaurant for delivery for 30 minutes and when it arrived, the driver didn't have the insulated bag zipped up on his back seat, so our food was freezing. I appreciate it isn't the restaurant's fault that we weren't willing to pay the extra delivery fee to be the first drop on the route, but it's something to bare in mind when ordering. Further to this our chips were DISGUSTING. They were inedible in every way, looking to me like they'd been cooked in old oil that needed changing. They were slimy, spongey and brown, and both myself and my partner didn't bother eating them. Won't be ordering from here again.

Closest chippy to us and still the best, huge chip portions so often my wife and I share a large chips, great fish cooked fresh, and the burgers are great too!

Very nice Kebabs! Spot on 👌🏻 Used twice - Chef Mix Kebab & Chicken Shish/Doner combo kebab - both absolutely perfect. The portion sizes were fantastic. The meats are all cooked just right regardless what time you arrive to collect, and taste lovely. The salad has been very fresh each time, no sogginess at all. The chilli sauce is just the right heat, not over powering with lots of flavour. The customer service is excellent, very polite and welcoming. I cannot fault what I have experienced so far. I'll be returning for the kebabs. We are going to try out the cod and chips next, once we do, I'll add to this review. *Only request I make to the gentleman owners is.. could other options like Chicken Doner & Kofte be considered part of the menu. Chicken Shish/Lamb and only Lamb Doner is fine, but I have no doubts your quality standard of the Chicken Doner and Koftes would also be excellent.

Last night 4/9/21 we went to Mead end fish 🐟 bar. It was busy so we had to wait. The service from the manager/staff was excellent and 100%. They were apologetic we had to wait,but the quality of the food is worth the wait. I recommend Mead end fish bar as the BEST in Biggleswade.

Fast delivery, loverly fish and chips only down fall is you have to spend 10 pounds which I find wrong ,everyone pays a 1.00 pound delivery, I don't think their should be a minimum order

One of the better Fish and Chip shops in Biggleswade ! Sadly, not many seem to be able to cook chips. Chips here could do with cooking longer, however, fish has a nice crunchy dry batter. Better to collect as if delivered everything arrives all soggy...

Ordered food to be delivered on Friday and told it would take about 50 minutes. Two hours later we called as no sign of it and told 'they were busy'! which I understand, but felt our expectations should have been managed better. They then hung up on us - not great customer service! An hour later the food arrives...of course we politely declined! We had bought fish and chips from elsewhere and had long finished...

Order was wrong chips were kept for too long, staff were friendly. Felt as if I was there on the wrong day. (Edit) went for takeaway during lockdown and had a better experience.

I've now tried three chippies in Biggleswade and although it's close between this one and Sheff, I've got to say MEFB just edges it. I ordered the Small Cod & Chips and I can say that it reminded me of my local Chippy in Sunderland. Lovely chips, not too crunchy, not too soggy. Firm. Golden brown. And the fish was excellent too. Nice crispy batter. Good tasting fish and the 'small' was fine for me. And I have a healthy appetite. We normally go to Sheffs cos it's nearer and the kids like other stuff from the menu (haloumi, sausage, etc) plus they have a buy online system setup but if I'm just pleasing myself I'll be coming here for my cod n Chips from now on.

DELICIOUS! We tried this chippy for the first time on a Sunday and it was GOOD FOOD! I had a large cod & chips and the cod was BIG! It was more like whale & chips. The batter was delicious and not greasy too. We'll be back! Thanks. --- We placed an order once again and the food was as good as last time! The own (Ismon, lovely chap) also delivered it! Lockdown has been rough for us all but Fridays have been made something to look forward to as we decided to have a fish and chip takeaway on every Friday. The Mead End Fish Bar were the first to offer a faultless contactless service in the local Biggleswade area, so although we’d not used this place before, we took the plunge. We’ve not regretted it. Generous portions, inexpensive and the beat freshly cooked fish I’ve ever had from a street fish and chip establishment. The guys serving are lovely too, fast efficient service with a smile.

Fish is beautiful and they do a great deal for pensioners. £5 for fish and chips and the portion was more than enough for anyone, let alone a pensioner.

A fantastic chippy with great staff. Nice, crisp chips which are not greasy plus the fish is fresh. Haven't had one bad takeaway from here. Only down side is the chippy is set in a area where you can feel intimidated. Lots of, what look like, undesirables who like to give filthy looks. But it's worth the shifty looks for their fish and chips.

Great chip shop. Taken over from previous owners of the plaice but have continued to have great friendly service, good prices and most importantly great fish and chips. They offer a discount to concessions which is good and often have a deal on for a meal deal which saves you a bit of money and is great value. I won't use any other chippy in Biggleswade and drive to Sandy if I fancy fish and chips on a Sunday when unfortunately Mike's is closed. The speed with which you receive your food could put some fast food franchises to shame as I am never waiting more than 5 minutes for my food once ordered. If they accepted card payments that would be the best as there is no cash point nearby. Overall I love the place and regularly visit. Another one of Biggleswade's hidden jewels.
