McGlones in Lisburn

Over-priced Christmas menu with no other option available. If other menus not available update your website! Sorry but I don't want a Christmas menu on 24 November?! Decidedly average service - at times constantly asking questions but then staff disappear when needed. No atmosphere and very average food - overcooked dry burger. Won't be back.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon for food and drinks, nice decor, clean and fresh. Waitress was polite and friendly but the service was dreadful. Long waits between ordering drinks and receiving them, food order taken wrong causing delay in receiving food and when food arrived it was very bland, unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend or visit again.

You can’t expect to be successful when customers are waiting 15 minutes between drink orders. Nothing to do with the waitresses but poor organisation from the management. Half empty on a Saturday evening doesn’t bode well for the place. Also had to put up with some reptile laughing at me for wearing a mask inside.

The service is horrendous. Their system chaotic .Repeatedly ask waiters,managers, staff anyone for a drinks order eventually got a drink after a long wait . Our food was awful, steak was burnt and had to be sent back and the burger wasn’t much better . The place has been total revamped and is a lovely a bar /restaurant but something needs to chance to make it work .

We ate outside- tables were dirty. Ordered food and drinks- the food came with no cutlery or salt etc- had to go inside twice to request them- the drinks didn’t arrive until after we finished our food- very unpleasant experience.

Service was great until 9pm then went badly down hill. Waited over ,40 mins for drink after repeated confusion from staff on what we had ordered. Meanwhile watched others getting drinks ordered after ours before us. Very frustrating experience and wont be back. Would have been happy with complementary drink but no, totally amateur operation.

Came for a visit yesterday in the new rebranded name Millies and was stunned at first sight.. lovely staff, food was incredible and the new manager was lovely, she couldnt get us a table at first but was offered drinks at the tent until table was free which is fine considering current situation. Once seated on our table i thought she was very pleasant with us and her upselling was very impressive, great attitude! The food came and it was yummy! Big upgrade from Mcglones to Millies, from lovely staff to excellent food! Welldone

Went tonight for some food and drinks, under the new name millies. Safe to say we won’t be back- the place was super busy with no social distancing being put in place. People queuing and crawling over each other (not sure if queuing at the bar is even allowed with new rules in place), with no masks being worn when not sat in your seat. We waited 10 minutes for a menu, when I asked a waiter for a menu I was told to ask for someone else. Surely I shouldn’t have to wait for an appropaite staff member to get me a menu? Service was slow but we got there in the end, bruschetta and chicken wings to start with two Christmas dinners for mains which were great. The male waiter (who wore glasses) was great, upsold us sides which we ordered as we were very hungry, but when they arrived the onion rings were dripping in grease and we didn’t eat any(this wasn’t noticed by the waiter nor were we asked was everything okay until we were paying this bill). Clearance took ages - the cocktail I ordered was supposed to be a bramble but was far from it. All in all, very disappointed. We felt very unsafe which proceeded us to leave early. During the pandemic we all know we can’t behave as normal, but apparently the rules don’t apply in Millies. Queues for the bar, little to no one wearing masks, we were charged for an extra drink on our bill which we didn’t order. Complete let down and left feeling very ignored and unsatisfied.

I was just told they couldnt serve me. was it maybe how i spoke and looked? Vehicle had Southern registration but I dont think that was the reason. Was in Northern Ireland for sporting event . Didnt get a very good impression. Went to pub at other end of village and got my pint of Guinness there..

Visited here today with my son for lunch & what can I say, apart from it was a great experience! The waitress ( Becca ) recommended the veggie burrito & it had to be the best I’ve ever tasted, and there was so much I brought some home. My son had the sticky chicken and took half of his home also as the portions are so big. Becca went out of her way to make us and everyone else in the bar/restaurant feel welcome. She is an excellent asset to a hospitality establishment. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you.

We have had the most beautiful lunch here in McGlones in Dunmurry. The lunch was absolutely beautiful, it was homemade hot delicious and plentiful. Our host Liz was attentive, informative and very friendly showing us all offers that were available. Definetly a hidden gem in Dunmurry. Well worth a visit hence the 5 stars. Marie Millisle

The food, service and atmosphere is second to none. The only thing that needs to improve is the quality of TV's for the sport - if this was sorted out I would be there every weekend.

I popped into Mc’s for the first time yesterday (Tue 22 Jan) to have a wee drink. I was initially impressed with the inside of the bar - clean, tidy, warm and a friendly ambience. My meet and greet lass ‘Beck-‘A’’ was a friendly efficient lass and she made me feel very welcome. I had not intended to dine in the pub but then I realized it served food so I decided to have my tea. ‘Beck’ quickly took my order - chicken curry, chips and pepper sauce. My meal was delicious - generous portions, great quality and all at a very fair price. I decided to have a coffee and I requested this from Terence - the barman. He too was friendly, professional, courteous and certainly an asset to the establishment. I loved the place and have no hesitation recommending it.

food amazing; chef sean is so helpful as i am gluten intolerant he has has anything to help me. fab been going for years and would not go any where else. hidden gem to say the least

Myself and my hubby visited for first time during the week and had lunch. I said to my husband that I will base my judgement on how they serve their mash patatoes, I love my spuds but I’m sick of being served cornflour type spuds..well, I wasn’t disappointed, I had champ and it was lovely. The barmen were pleasant and attentive. I’d definitely recommend here for a bit of delicious lunch at half the price of other local bars/restaurants

We were staying in the nearby hotel, and though the food there was great, we fancied a change. Not far away was McGlone's Pub, advertising Tuesday nights were Curry Night.Well, they weren't any longer the waitress explained to us - the banner was of old apparently. However, they had a great looking menu, and it did have a curry on it, so we decided to stay.My husband chose the curry, which was worthy of any Indian restaurant, and I really fancied the Spicy Chilli Beef - I'm not joking when I say it was the best version of this I've ever had and it is something I choose often. It was all beautifully cooked, really well presented, and piping hot too. Very impressive for pub food.The pub was busy, and as well as the football on several TVs there was music playing, and the usual customer banter, so the volume of noise did make us feel we wanted to leave as soon as we finished our meals.Very impressive menu, and impressive food too.

In for a business lunch. Very tasty, did not have to wait long for food. Good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

Got a booking on Valentines night for myself and my partner and my brother and sister in law with their 2 kids. Service was outstanding from the moment we walked in. Staff really friendly and attentive and great with the kids. New menu is even better than the old one which was great to start with. Would recommend this place to anyone. So welcoming and friendly and food is first rate. 4 adults and 2 kids and a round of drinks 3 of which where steak dinners and bill still only came to £60. Nowhere better than this in my opinion. Keep up the great work guys.

Lugar agradable para una noche relajante con amigos. La comida estaba bien, tenía la carne picante chili, que era un color quemado (demasiado cocinado). La comida de todo el mundo parecía bueno y no tengo ninguna queja. La camarera era encantador y atento. Hay un juke box, así que puedes elegir tu propia música y hay un jardín con aparcamiento detrás.

This Bar/Eatery is a place my sisters and I meet for lunch on a weekly basis. Food is Cheap well prepared and tastes delicious..Deffo a Place to Try !!

went here when my grandad came to visit and called in for something to eat, the food is good quality for the price and the staff were really friendly.

Recently went to mcglones for food and drinks have to say everything was amazing the food and service was 5 star we were served by a waitress called Nicola she was fantastic so helpful and honestly couldn't do enough to help us

I have been drinking in mcglones for years and come most Thursday's with my family for something to eat. I have to say Nicola has been a fresh of breath air since she started and I can't actually believe the comments I have read about...

5 of us went to McGlones for dinner and had planned to stay for the rest of the night. Unfortunately the verbal abuse I got from waitress Nicola and the fact she shouted across the table at me completely ruined what was a birthday celebration. This was all because food had arrived wrong twice and when I brought it to the staffs attention I was accused of lying and told that in fact my food did have everything it was meant to have. I’ve never been spoken to more rudely in all my life. Also when I asked for extra sauce for chicken wings she told me to search the bottom of my tin for some. There was no customer service. When we spoke to the “manager” and asked for our bill we waited 20 mins, before again asking the same man for the bill and sitting another 10 mins. At this stage we prod our bill at the bar again speaking to the manger who didn’t as much as offer an apology. On our way out the waitress was overheard asking the manager what’s their problem now. We both live and work locally and were regular customers but will never ever be back after what can only be described as verbal abuse. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I work close to this place and go regularly for lunch. I have never had a bad meal and it is all great service. Highly recommend it

A welcoming bar with excellent food and very attentive staff. Well suited for the solo traveler and families alike. A visit is recommended.

Delicious foods. The staff were very friendly and smile at everyone. The people were lovely and friendly too. Lovely relax while eat and drink and tv. Lovely drink cocktails. Will go definitely go back there again.

Had lunch there today & the service was very good. The food was good pub food & the portions were really big, more than enough for us. Will visit again.

Been here many times over the oast few years every time I visit Belfast. Really good place for a few drinks, good laugh and friendly staff. Not overly expensive either which is always a bonus. Will be back the next time I'm over

Went for lunch here with my husband and daughters. We were very impressed with the service and friendly welcome. The lunch menu at £5.95 is amazing value for money! The food was tasty and hot. All in all very impressed.

I went for my first time here last friday night and it was brilliant, bar staff was lovely, and so was the locals in it aswell as music was amazing, stayed open late enough.

We used to live really close to here and it was our local. everyone was dead nice and chatty and even when its rammed you still get really good, friendly service. My only experiences of it are of new years and christmas when its alway heaving which is a good sign!

McGlone's is a smashing local. Always good food, entertainment and a family friendly atmosphere.Calling in for a lovely meal, for a quiet pint or an evening with a live local band.There is something for everyone at McGlone's.

Good traditional pub lunch; good size portions and cooked well. Look out for their Early Special from 12 noon till 3pm Tuesday to Friday if you want a great price.

Went for lunch Tuesday 4th October 16.First thing barlady give us a great hello and with you in a minute gents ( unfortunalely dont see to often )The chap who took our order was very friendly and helpful.The food was excellent and the same chap, serviced us wery well indeed.On leaving i told the barlady how we were delighted with the excellent service and meal they had provided.I NEVER critise and just NEVER go back.So please keep up the good work as so many other places DONT.Again many thanks for a beautful lunch and excellent service.Chris Mc DonnellBlearyPortadown

Went here for lunch as jax honest food was closed, the food was lovely but I thought it was over priced!Staff where friendly enough

Came to this local bar for a drink with friends. Clean bar great friendly bar staff however the bouncer on the door had such an attitude my friends and I wouldn't back. We only stayed for one drink after hearing the way he spoke to clientele. Made us feel extremely uncomfortable even though he was not speaking to us.

Great steak at a brilliant price and stayed for lively music. Good service from friendly staff. Awesome all around and can't wait for next visit.

This is a pub that now sells great food at very reasonable prices .We had a family lunch here for five persons who all had different meals ( steaks , fish , stirfry etc ) and nobody could find fault with any of their meals . All delicious and served piping hot .This is also a great place to have a beer , watch your sport and nibble away at their sharing platter combo at the same time . The service provided by the always smiling and ever obliging staff is second to none !Will definitely be back.

I visited her on Sunday 14th August around 2pm. We had a late lunch. The food was delicious. the staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The price was very reasonable.

Went to McGlones Bar for lunch both the food an service were simply brilliant. For starters we both had chicken wings which were delicious and portion size was very generous. For the main we both had chicken goujons, chunky chips, pepper sauce along side a sald and dips. Yet again was delicious and big portion. 10/10 will be back.

I've been here twice now since McGlone's started doing food again and have to say the food is fab! I had chicken goujons last time and Southern fried chicken this time. They were both really good. The portions are big and the food's all freshly cooked to order. The staff are fantastic, on my first visit the barman searched the jukebox for a singer my mum loves and just now she's been brought a glass of water because she had a coughing fit. It's definitely worth a visit.

Called in today to try the new food menu. Food and service were great. Menu was perfect for a local pub. Atmosphere was perfect also. Will definitely be back again soon.

Just had a delishious meal at Joe McGlones today...friendly service, relaxing atmosphere and scrumptious food at affordable prices .would highly recommend it to all..

Food was amazing, the staff are sooo nice and the place has a rich and lovely feel... PLUS....the drink was cheap so can't go wrong there

Went in for a bite to eat from the new menu. Menu is great, just the sort of food you want to see in a pub, they do chip meals which I think is a great idea. I had a hotdog meal which was lovely and my other half had a chicken burger. For value for money you can't beat it. We stayed a while and listened to the live band, atmosphere was great, service was 1st class, will def be back.

We stopped in here for lunch with friends. We ordered straight away but the wait was much longer than usual for an Irish pub. The food was ok but one of us ordered the guiness pie however they didn't put any pastry on it all all essentially making it just a casserole. One of us had to cancel our meal to go back to work due to the extended wait. I think next time we will try a different pub.

Fast efficient service and a welcoming atmosphere, bar food available and will not cost the Earth. Entertainment on weekends and selected week nights.

A local pub with great staff and punters worth a visit and just across from great food in beechlawn hotel

Have eaten in McGlones multiple times as I worked in the area for a while. Found the food to be fresh and plentiful and they serve good beers as well. Waitress messed up one of my orders once and even though I wasn't really that bothered and her apology was sufficient she still provided me with a £10 voucher for my next visit.

This is a brilliant place to go if you just want nice food and good craic the food is excellent and not to dear

The staff are welcoming and the food is good! You can tell it is home made! Brilliant and good value for money. I will definitely go to McGlones again!
