McDonald's NAIRN in Highland

15 minutes in drive through queue. No explanation from staff. When I received my burger it was squashed with a lot of the filling not on the flatten bun.

Returning from Eden Court on a day out with family, we promised our grandkids a McDonald's as a final treat for the day. The thought of finding parking at Inverness was not appealing, so we opted to go to Nairn. Our fourteen year old granddaughter guided us through the computerised ordering system, and our party of seven enjoyed our meal Service was quick and friendly, and vacated tables were emptied quickly. One of the better McDonalds.

We ordered our table service meal at the screen. The restaurant was very quiet The machine failed to give us a receipt, so we spoke to the young lady behind the counter. She shrugged her shoulders. After 30 minutes waiting our meal still had not arrived. My wife spoke to the young lady again who asked what our order was. She told her that it was sitting in the preparation area. And they would have to start again because it was cold. We asked to speak to the manager. She told us SHE was the manager. We left with our money back. We did not receive an apology, all we got was attitude. Dreadfull experience. We got ourselves a Sainsburys Meal Deal, delicious, and half the price.

We stopped here on our journey from Inverness back home to Lossiemouth. As McDonald’s go, this order was more than satisfactory (in other words, no unexpected surprises). My wife even managed to try the ‘Plant Burger’ - this was a revelation for her. Being a Vegetarian she normally has little to choose from. It’s great to see the company expanding their menu to suit more diets. I just wish the ‘Big Tasty’ was more of a regular choice! No comment on the facilities as we didn’t dine in. However, the Drive-Thru was painless and the order was correct. No issues with the staff and the cost, well, it is what it is.

I am taking up valuable time as I feel compelled to let people know how disgusted I am with this outlet. On Sat 29.1.22 I got late night triple hamburger and chips here. They were clearly closed early and I was - supposed - to get a triple hamburger and large chips. I got a cold double with a hard stale roll and a half portion of chips - not the large portion - of cold stale chips which has clearly been scraped off the bottom of the tray and, having actually tasted the real Dead Sea, I am well qualified to say that they were far saltier than it. Absolutely disgusting and entirely inedible. I would have taken it back but they were closed. I have been going to McDonald's since 1978 in New York and NEVER had an experience like it. The shift manager that night should be sacked.
