Apart from my burgers being salty, everything else was fine. We loved the fact that there is an area dedicated to kids down some stairs, it has adult seating but there is a choice to sit away from children. Toilets were clean. Sadly, due to the electric car chargers being installed, traffic is dreadful, queues, and long waits to get into the car park.

Edit: We returned to the McDonalds (Penistone Road) and made a very polite complaint about the missing item from our Drive-Thru order. The staff could not have been better and they supplied us with the missing item. The advice still stands, check your drive through orders and make sure it is all there. It's happened to us many times and if you go back, they will sort you out! *** CHECK YOUR DRIVE-THRU ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE *** Items you've paid for will be missing and if you don't check, you'll be out of pocket. The mistakes are always in the McDonald's favour, you'll never receive more food than you ordered, always less. They missed off my Mrs Chicken Mayo and she was not a happy bunny. . **** EAT-IN IF YOU CAN **** A week earlier we ate in and everything was perfect. Food was good, piping hot and nothing missing. The total opposite of the Drive-Thru.

Food was OK. However, ordered a big mac meal....the big mac was missing. Partner Ordered a chicken mac for himself and they gave us that, but that was separate from the big mac meal. The actual big mac wasnt there. My partner Ordered a vanilla milkshake, they gave banana. He hates banana 🤦‍♀️ Everytime we order from this Maccies they always leave things off and give us the wrong things. About the 5th time I’ve been here and they half fill the cokes. They are literally half full nowhere near the 0.4ml line and have ice in too so when removed it’s even lower. When you comment they just tell you it’s the machines and there’s nothing they can do. So maybe press the large button so you actually get the size drink you order because they are basically selling small size drinks in medium cups. Attitude of the staff is diabolical too. They need to fix their attitude and machines. Food is always cold and orders are always wrong. Going to start using the j36 one instead

Gave me a chicken burger rather than a veggie deluxe what a joke. After biting into it, called the restaurant manager just said “sorry pal” didn’t even offer to replace my burger! This is only the second time I’ve ordered a delivery from this shop. The first time a main burger was missing so I had to drive down to collect it. Now guess what ordered again to give them the benefit of the doubt and once again a main burger is missing. Once again I’ll have to drive down to collect missing item which completely defeats the purpose of a delivery charge. Also the fries where way cold compared to KFC delivery that’s got everything right every time in comparison. Shocking service from McDonalds Hillsborough.

Around 1PM, early afternoon, me and my dad went to buy food from McDonald’s. We ordered 2 triple cheese burgers and a box of salad with grilled chicken. As soon as we had received our order. They didn’t give my dad salad cream and fork to eat the food as I already ate my food as we arrived on site because my dad had to stop at site so i can eat the food then to join my dad at site. When my dad came, he entered the van and viewed his food, he was concerned because he had been always expecting salad cream and fork, we went straight to work as it lasted us 2hrs of hard work to do because my dad was really busy so he didn’t have time to return and refund the food. We finished our job and arrived at McDonald’s at 5PM in the afternoon, my dad went to complain about the salad because it had no fork and no sauce and we ordered large fries and inside was medium, the salad was un fresh so my dad couldn’t eat it as he hadn’t eaten in a whole 3hours, the manager came and had refused to give us a refund. I was recording the whole thing for proof. She started getting loud at my dad and then with all frustration she shut the window with force. I saw a guy calling the police on the 3rd window as the police came they had told my dad to go inside and complain, because they may not know what the policies are in McDonald’s. They also told us that they needed to check my dads van I don’t know why they said that because we are black and they might think the worst about us. We entered the McDonald’s building and complained to a guy named William Denison. He had refused service because a black man Also known as my dad followed the rules as he only wanted to refund the food because it was un fresh and it didn’t come with what is was suppose to come with, and he had also been threatening my dad by calling the police. He had also written a note about all the things he thought we might have done totally hiding the things what they have done also known as threatening my dad by calling the police. Here’s proof even though this ISNT necessarily TRUE, because she got rude then I recorded the manager for proof, because why can’t I? There are security cameras everywhere recording people without consent this is me recording her without consent. So I have the right to record, because what they are doing isn’t right. We were being racially threatened because they called the police on my dad twice. We left the shop without receiving any refund not helpful people they are racist. This McDonald’s must show respect to everyone and every customer with dignity and respect and no matter where they are. I took one of the pictures from my other phone and I’ll be putting the videos on YouTube for everyone to see how they are treating the customers.

It is truly incredible how bad they are at getting orders right. They must get ~75% of them wrong. Usually its something minor like forgetting the dips. It's gotten to the point where I'll order paid for dips, just in the hope that it will prompt them to remember the free ones. However if you're 'lucky' they forget entire burgers, or all the fries, or just swap burgers you ordered, for different ones. Absolutely amazing that in 2024 it is this bad.

Me and my wife visited here only ordered what was on menu but still had a wait for our food, as we sat eating it a pigeon flew into the restaurant putting feathers all over it the flew into the window and then landed on a seat . Not content with scaring customers it then dedicated on the seat and us and several other customers left our food as all the manger could do was smile and say what we going to do about this , I tell you what you should have done was empty out the restaurant because as a rat with wing this bird could be carrying any sort of thing it need to cleaned properly. Iam writing this on here as I did report it on the mcds app with my receipt and I have not had any correspondence with the Head office .Iam sure many others have complained as it was a shock to women and kids of which there was many come on McDonald's get your act together and train your mangers for any sort of animal that gets into your restaurant.

Well, that was it. Finally, will have to give up on visiting this McDonald's .... Every order that Ive placed for in this store had an issue, some reported some not, from missing items to half full cups of coke without ice(working Ice machine), from burgers just with bottom buns to burgers without taste and also weirdly missing cheese, every order gets thrown in a bag, you cant keep up chasing fries.... Clearly, staf just does not care.... What happen with decent service , what happened with responsibility... taking pride of servicing... Also never understood how a order lets say 85 still pending, but 98 has already been passed to the customer...., clearly just the system of preparing sellect smaller orders before big ones ..... How is it fast food when you place an order at 20:20 and not received until 21:05 ? This is x2 chicken mayo meals, x1 happy meal, x1 double cheeseburger, x1 triple cheeseburger.... All the best from us...

I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received at your Hillsborough on 19/08/2024, 13:03. The experience I had was far from what I expect from McDonald’s, especially since it is supposed to be a fast-food restaurant. When I arrived at the drive-through, I placed my order and was asked to wait. I ended up waiting around 15 minutes before my order was finally brought to me. When I asked why it took so long, the manager, Morgan, responded with a very unprofessional attitude. She told me that if I wanted hot and fresh food, I would have to wait. Her tone was rude and dismissive, which only made me more upset. A simple apology would have been enough, but none was offered. To make things worse, when I checked my order, I noticed that the Cheesy Garlic Dippers were missing. I went back to the restaurant right away, but when I asked for the missing item, I was rudely asked for my receipt, which I had never received. Morgan refused to give me the dippers without the receipt, even though the mistake was theirs. I asked to speak with the restaurant manager, but another staff member named Joe told me that there was no one else in charge. Joe offered to give me a copy of the receipt, and I had to wait another 30 minutes, during which time my food, and the food of the children with me, got cold. When Joe finally returned with the receipt, he falsely claimed that two staff members had checked my order before giving it to me and that the dippers were in the bag. This was not true. He also told me that because I had “upset” two staff members, they would not give me the item I paid for. When I got home and reviewed the receipt, I noticed that I had actually been charged for two portions of Cheesy Garlic Dippers, but I didn’t receive even one. This is completely unacceptable and only adds to my frustration. I left the restaurant feeling frustrated, angry, and cheated—having paid for food I never received and dealing with very poor customer service. This situation could have been easily avoided if the staff had acted professionally and politely. I expect immediate action to be taken regarding the behavior of the staff, especially the managers, as this is not the way to treat customers. I would also like a formal apology for how I was treated, and I request that my missing portions of Cheesy Garlic Dippers be provided since I paid for them but never received them. I have already filed an official complaint with Customer Service, but I would appreciate a formal response from the restaurant about what will be done to address this issue. Lastly, I would like to point out that neither of the managers had name tags, and I had to push just to get their names. This lack of transparency added to the poor service experience I had. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

It’s a Macy’s so the bar is already pretty low and I’ve scored on that basis, they still can’t reach it. This McDonald’s at Hillsborough have an appalling service. Don't leave without checking your order first as the last times I have been to their drive thru either they tried to give me an order that wasn't my one or I arrived home to find that some items were missing. I don't know if they are understaffed or if it's lack of training but lately I rather go to a McDonald’s further away from home than to have to go through the stress of a long wait and still be given the wrong order or missing items. I don't want a voucher for compensation I just want my order to be right. It's worth to drive 2 minutes ahead and stop at BK instead, at least you get what you ordered.

I want to give some feedback regarding the Penistone Road Restaurant Sheffield. This is the closest restaurant to my address but by far the worst! Every time I go through the drive-through, something is wrong, or the staff are rude. The latest incident was tonight, where I ordered a McSpicy Meal, 'add' onions to the Burger, and I also request a sweet chilli dip. Get the collection point to be told quite rudely that I couldn't have my dip because I didn't pay for it. I explained that I did ask for it and was told 'you haven't paid for it so I can't give it to you'. I'm thinking what am i meant to do then! go back around the drive-through to pay?! I said,'So why can't I just pay you?'. He said you can. So why not say that in the first place!!!!! why not say 'Apologies it doesn't look like it was added to your order, but you can pay here'. Instead of a 'well you didn't pay for it so I'm not giving it to you'. So anyway, I get home to a dry, stale over cooked chicken burger in a soggy bun that has been completely smothered in sweet chilli sauce! and no onions. Not what I asked for or wanted. And to top it off to say the chip container was half full would be generous. It was more like a quarter of the actual portion size. The time before I asked for a chicken mayo add onions. I got a chicken may with gherkins, complained, and asked for another. I then got a chicken mayo with cheese and complained again, thinking 3rd time lucky. This time, I got a chicken mayo with only onions, no lettuce. I gave up and accepted the task of listening to what I was actually asking was too much for your staff. These are only the last two times, but there have been countless others! I will NEVER go back to that restaurant again. Rude staff who are incapable of getting an order right.

Ive been coming to this particular establishment for 25+ years, from a young excitable kid to a overweight adult who breaths heavily. I've noticed the following things in that time. Some that I agree with, some that boil my potatoes something fierce The food construction has gone downhill. I'm getting double cheeseburgers that don't have melted cheese as they're cold causing subsidence. This in turn makes them very difficult to grip in my fat hands in the car as I can't wait to go home and refuse to sit inside... I don't like to eat inside, mainly because of the sheer amount of youths from thr local college with there silly skibidis and lack of rizz. No cap. Also because mcdonalds has distanced themselves from their roots and become more serious. No creepy clowns. The sheer amount of 'app delivery drivers'who have their own queue and seem to get priority. I've made the effort to attend this establishment. I should at least be on par with these parking parasites (they park on double yellows. I can call them that.) The slack jawed staff who seem to whisper at the drive thru. The word drive thru. Not a dig at this branch but the unambitiousness of the 'new menus'. Mate you added baocn/bbq sauce to a burger, don't act like your steve jobs. Go to Poland and get the lumberjack. Now that's a burger with some serious rizz, fr fr. While I like the touch screen ordering as i cant be judged for my colossal order, ive never seen them clean the screen and I've seen the people that touch them. I just think for what you pay, and the effort you go thru, try somewhere local and better. You'll Mcthank me.

I'm loving it! 😃 Updated March 2024 - Still a great place for a burger and fries on a Friday evening. 😁 Update July 2024 - Triple burger was a serious disappointment. 3 very dry burger patties, no cheese or gherkin, definitely not worth the £5.75. Good thing is Macdonald's is dropping it off the menu on the 16th of July 2024. The best triple burger can be found at Ecclestone Grill.

Ordered online. Food came in very good time however when it got here it was absolutely stone cold and missing several items. No sauce included within the order at all. Rang up to query the haphazard order and was treated appallingly by the baffoon in charge. Called me every name under the sun and said it wasn’t their fault the order was missing almost every item. No option to report the terribly behaviour to head office.

Worst McDonald’s I’ve ever ordered from. Every single time I order for delivery, the food is stone cold. Not even lukewarm. Cold. I live a 5 min drive away so they are sending out cold food. There is always at least 1 item missing with every order & the last one came with a Big Mac with no bun!! I don’t know who they’ve got working there but they all need to sort themselves out.

Ordered food this evening on just eat, wrong food received due to McDonald’s error sticking the wrong sticker on the bag. McDonalds seem to think it’s acceptable to refuse to replace the food and make you go through just eat as it’s their just eat policy even though it was a McDonalds error in the restaurant. This meant that having spent £35 on food we had to spend again or not have anything to eat. While meanwhile having to await for just eat to amend the issue which takes x amount of days to refund. Absolute shamble of a policy. So therefore went to shop and kicked off police visited and luckily it was of closing time so didn’t really feel like I achieved anything. But tomorrow I will be sitting in the drive through and not moving. Absolute terrible customer service really disappointed with how the manager dealt with the entire situation as for example if I had ordered food through the drive through and received incorrect food it would have been replaced so why not in just eat?

Constantly late or non existent on Uber Eats, if you order from here for tea at 17:00 please order at 04:00 and they might be ready for you. Management are clearly useless. It’s not difficult to put two burgers together with some chips and get it out the door, by far one of the worst ran McDonalds in the country.

Terrible, slow service!! Waited 30 mins for 2 quarter pounders which we were told initially we couldn’t get on o2 priority even though it’s every Tuesday and we went at 10pm on Tuesday and the bloke questioned if it was still Tuesday. Rude staff!! Edit, how awful can one place be? Numerous missing items and completely wrong orders on Uber eats and when you try and rectify it, they fob you off and blame Uber eats. The “manager” we spoke to was useless and had no power to do anything. Finally sorted with Uber eats who are able to do more than the actual restaurant themselves. He was rude and slunk away like the coward he is and made out he was doing us a favour by exchanging it. I won’t be returning

Absolutely joke. 9 times out of 10 they miss something from your order leaving someone without a meal. It’s a joke they clearly don’t check orders before giving them out and when you ring to complain they couldn’t care less, they just tell you to take it up with just eat which doesn’t help at all. The food is always cold especially the chips. Rude Staff. They never send any sauces so I don’t know why they give you the option. I also ordered my daughter (who has a cows milk allergy) a veggie happy meal and they mixed all the food up together. No allergen safety procedures are followed. Never known anything like it, I think staff need retraining.

We waited ages outside just for a large Big Mac and a mc chicken big bac fries and drinks. The chips were cold and hard the Big Macs are small why call them a Big Mac false advertising on the pictures and no serveittes no straws. I had to take it back. They changed it no sorry an atoll no straws or serviettes good job I had tissues on the car. This service is unacceptable I was a supervisor at kfc years ago my customers were my priority the staff are not trained properly and therefore rude

Firstly i wanna say what kind of service is this its always busy they always send the wrong food they never answer their calls in the restraunt. I was issued a refund and they sent it on the wrong card details i tried to get back to them all they do is basically try to get rid of you without helping. Im never ever buying from here again. Lastly there fish fillet is always hard shame on you customer service and the managr.

Fantastic meal would really recommend everything was on point the only bad thing that happened was the driver knocked on the door at night when I put in the comments please ring me when outside and not really good customer service and didn’t speak at all opened up the bag and there was no drink apart from that everything was superb

What is going on with this place. Used to be the best I the area but just went in and charged £3 more than advertised and when questioned the menu in shop he said prices have gone up? Then update your menu please. Refund given after argument but just not acceptable
