Mc Donalds is McDonalds but this one has a bad fly problem and we where there in January.

Pretty grim McDonald's in a services. The seating area suffers greatly from being directly beside some of the worst kept and smelling public service station toilets I have ever encountered. Does not allow you to stay seated for long. Food felt overdone, or had sat a while. just not a very good McDonald's.

Flies everywhere and rodents coming in the front door. A stain on the McDonald's brand.

It's standard fast food, nothing special about the food. The service is great and can't complain about that, some of the staff team go above and beyond so definitely 5* service.

This place as gone down hill,Burgers have got smaller and then they want to park you up,to wait for your order.Not fast food anymore.Avoid.

No paper in machine for recipe when ordering staff very unhelpful ended up paying for two burgers I did not receive

travelling early morning up motorway with family thought it would be a nice treat to stop refresh and recharge how wrong could I be food was cold and had been thrown together and when tried to get a seat people where asleep under tables shocking just haven't got any words

My family and I were unfortunate enough to call into Roadchef Hamilton brand on the M74 Northbound McDonalds branch yesterday afternoon at about 2pm on our way to holiday in Scotland from North Yorkshire. We all had a meal each and then 3 of us treated ourselves to McFlurrys. Whilst my eldest daughter had nearly finished hers she found somebody’s fingernail in her mouth. This made her very distressed and upset and was utterly disgusting. It even made myself feel sick. I went to speak to the duty manager ‘Amanda’ and was quite shocked at her response of shrugging her shoulders and going to simply get a replacement (as if we’d want another McFlurry after what had just happened). There was no great sense of alarm, any great apology and certainly no intention of trying to make things right or investigating why it happened. I couldn’t even get a refund of £1.69 as my wife had made the payment on her app and she was waiting in the car outside. The attitude of ‘Amanda’ was shocking, she literally said ‘I can’t do anything about it’. It’ll certainly put me off ordering anything from McDonalds ever again.

Staff were awful slated the drinks holder down in the bin when I said I didn't need one food was sub standard

Staff are always friendly and the food is cooked fresh everytime.

It's not one of the best burgers, but it's good to have the option to eat something on the road.

Absolutely rotten burger dry as chips crap

Why on earth can’t the staff members have basic manners? I said please and thank you and wasn’t even greeted with a single response, just looked at like I’m from another planet. When I challenged the staff member about her lack of basic common decency her arrogant manager said ‘leave my staff alone she’s done nothing wrong’. Ahh well instead of barking your orders and thinking what you can have off the menu for your breakfast lunch and tea, why not clean the disgusting dirty tables instead? Twice I’ve visited and twice I’ve been disappointed. Speak to me like I’m a nobody then this is the kind of review you deserve.

Called in as was starving and heading to a concert but traffic delays had forced us to cancel original restaurant reservation. Forgot how bad McDonald's is, enimic fries, and very sad Fillet o fish.

I have been to many McDs all over the UK. Have never been to a McD where they charge for a carry bag. Surprised! !!

I didn't even try the McDonalds _ sorry, can't stand the stuff, though I know others who love it - but the Hamilton Service Area is a welcoming place to stop for a wee while when you're heading north on the M74. There's quite a complex series of motorway manoeuvres ahead, so a good place to stop and check your maps/GPS beforehand.

Ordered two bacon and cheese flatbread for breakfast neither where made with any care, the lady who made em up obviously didn't give a stuff about what the customer thought and she only had a glove on one hand and did handle my food with both hands, never had any issues before but this was a disgrace 🤨 one was cold and old and the other was thrown together with a couple of shovels 🤨

I call on a monday after a busy day and the milkshakes are often not working they told me tues is cleaning day so why off on a Monday 2 weeks ago milkshakes off but ice cream on so how is that ?

The 1 thing I've found in every McDonald's in Scotland the breakfast menu is hot & fresh. Where as in England it's stale n cold ..... sometimes.!

This McDonald's on the M74 at Road Chef,Hamilton is good. Service is quick with friendly staff. Clean toilets too. Recommend for a quick meal or coffee. There is also a Costa Coffee too. Nearly always stop here when driving home to Fife from Dublin..

Pay by credit card and I am told that it did not go through, I pay in cash and two days later the debit goes to my account with additional exchange fees 😡, the girl in front of her screen knew very well that my credit cards were spent 😡 don't be fooled like me, I'm going to try to find out how to get reimbursed but it's not won, move on, don't go there,,,, notice posted a week ago and not response from them, mac do to avoid everyone, not even enough balls to respond to their scams

Worst experience ever. Inaccurate order, cold food, worst customer experience. They are making burgers as per their own ingredients,not as per standard and they are not informing if anything not available.

Sorry to say but mcDs has went down hill big time. Cardboard chips and burger was poor. Didn't even eat half of my food. For the biggest fast food chain in the world the quality is very poor. Get your act together.

It grates me already that a premium is charged for the pleasure of ordering a happy meal at the services. It further irks me that asking for a sealed bbq sauce is frowned upon (as I am guided towards a manky dispensing machine). Ultimately, if I want a sealed bbq sauce for cleanliness, then I would suggest it is provided. Additionally, said manky bbq sauce machine was actually empty anyway. Always a customer service experience going to mcdonalds.

Not a fan of Motorway services in general, apart from the Tebay service group ones, so I only stop for a call of nature in others. This is mainly based on the price of stuff which in general is more excessive, especially fuel, due to the fact you are a captive market once you set foot in one of these places.

For a McDonald's the food was far superior than most I have had on my travels

2 cheeseburgers and fries. Burger like eating carpet, not much cheese, fries were lukewarm. Only got them because we needed a break from driving. Tables not wiped. Hamilton services you could do better

Been in this place few times and staff is always "tired" looking. They look like they've been sent there to do a prison sentence instead of work. Waiting time is horrendous, average of 10-15 minutes no matter what you order.

Good Mac along the motorway to Glasgow. Friendly service. Clean and tidy. The restaurant is located in a building that also houses a sandwich shop and a WH Smith.

Called in on Tuesday 13/2/24 about 5.30pm was served by a young lady called Leah I think she was really helpful and polite and absolute credit to company she even took time to explain as I couldn’t hardly understand her broad accent I hope this gets passed onto her by management top girl

The whole experience marred by the disgusting condition of the tables. One of the staff even came round and started putting chairs under tables to tidy up a bit but didn’t even consider wiping the tables full of crumbs, sauce, grease and just general filth. Hygienic

This is a services serving at M74 towards Gkasgow. Days inn will give you a 10 GBP voucher for 7.5 GBP if you are staying there. Limited menu and service is bit slow because of staff shortage, opens 24 hours. Costa Coffee and WH smith small shop nearby.

Automatic eating place serving plastic food as do all McDonalds. Only used when I have little alternative.

No chicken in my chicken rap , I told the staff manager and she responded without chicken is healthier.

This location is in a motorway services, which doesn't help with the layout. Better to eat your food in your own car.

To note.... We visited at a quiet time 8pm with only 3 other customers. Clean seating area although I had to swop my very wobbly chair in fear of it collapsing and informed staff for next customer safety. Food easily ordered as ever and reasonable, although the staff were polite. Food, was hot on the outside but cold in the middle, flagged it up to the manager and they very attentively rectified the problem. Good staff, worth visiting if your passing.

As McDonalds go, it’s fine. Service took quite a while and it wasnt even very busy. But the flies. Jeez. Flies everywhere in here. You guys really need to sort out the problem with the flies.

A decent place to stop for a quick meal regardless of the time of the day or night, always open as it's oriented towards the customers, with the diner being inside a 24 hour motorway services station.

Handy location, on the M74 just after Hamilton junction and before east kilbride. The road chef premises the McDonald's in are clean. However, the McDonald's area itself - the toilets located inside next to McDonald's aren't the cleanest (im not sure if these are McDonald'stoilets or belong to roadchef). The tables are also not cleaned as much as they could/should be. The food is always good though and it's never a long wait. Staff have been helpful when I've had any problems with my orders.
