McDonald's in Copeland

1st time visiting since the re-vamp,absolutely complete waste of time and money,place was empty, waited nearly 20 mins for 3 breakfast items,sausage muffin,flat bread and mini hash browns,when eventually recieved,flat bead and hash browns just warm.if not on way to work would have taken straight back but as waited so long,did not have the time. Also orders where being done for delivery but not delivery drivers their,so they will be cold when the customer gets it. And it was blowing a hooly and one if the servers went out with 2 bags of food (open) and tried 2 cars and walked away from both once again going to be cold. Won't use again and would hate to see what it is like when busy!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS !!!!

I got a delivery, the chips were cold, the 4 dips I ordered for my nuggets didn’t arrive and my cappuccino had no chocolate. Trying to complain to McDonald’s is nearly impossible, I’m disabled and have no driving licence, I have a meal that is inedible and there’s nothing I can do about it and I’m hungry, can anyone help me please?

Online this store shows it is open till 2.30am. However on arrival we found this to only be true for the drive through. Now, on a Friday night on foot at 1am you can understand our frustration towards this. McDonald's needs to update it's Google opening hours to relate to this as it cost us a fortune having to go through the drive through in our taxi!! Not happy.

Very slow service. Waited 20 mins for a regular meal order with no changes. Watched a customer have to get their order get corrected twice. It’s just amateur.

Newly renovated branch. Hmm... Hardly any seating now in a busy place. Walked in to the first staff member you lay eyes on... A manager with their shirt hanging half out and a generally scruffy appearance. Then take a counter to the table for table service and it's got food all over it. You can spend the money and make it look all nice and shiny on the outside but unless you change the staff attitude it'll still be the same shit in the background..

Absolute @hit ordered a breakfast meal deal got the sausage and egg muffin but no hot chocolate,( hush browns crap) they couldn’t serve a Mac flurry and didn’t get my fruit bag. and to top it off it was all cold

Updated October 2024. So it's had a refit. And it's now way worse than it was. Looks like a prison camp from the outside, and inside it's now way too small. It's ok if you are just going through the drive through, but I'd avoid going inside if possible. I can honestly say it's the worst McDonald's I ha ve ever been in. Never had any problems. Orders always correct, staff friendly and as fast as they can be. Only gripe is the amount of teenage kids taking up seating in early evening. The staff do make them move on at busy times.

We Went through the drive through waited ages. Got bayed . It was a 24 pound order. We Brought home and all chips where missing frm the meals apart frm the happy meal. Other customers please check all your food is in the bag before leaving the premises.

Placed order via the App and confirmed on my arrival. On entering the restaurant there were more than 20 youths making a nuisance. The manager kicked them out. The place was a state with rubbish everywhere. My order was on the screen but disappeared, I asked about it and it had been forgotten. The manager sorted it but in total I waited 20mins. Once home the chips were cold, burgers were OK. This franchise needs to sort itself out.

Although the staff were nice, the chicken burger was stale, the chips were stale and cold, and the nuggets were also stale. The apple pie was cooked fresh and hot, as was the cheeseburger.

Do not order online!!! Ordered a happy meal, two burgers, two cheese bites, when it arrived we only had fries and dips!!! £18 spent on chips never again! Need to train there staff on how to pack an order because it’s horrendous

Not as busy as usual but often got lots of teenagers in basically being a nuisance and eventually a group got kicked out for smoking in the toilets. Don't often sit in to eat and that is exactly why!

The Hamburgler and Grimace are back!!! Don't forget to use the App to get a McDonald's 50th birthday doughnut for a limited time only. This McDonald's gets very busy with unruly brats that loiters around like a bad smell, making the place unwelcoming. The drive thru is busy, and don't forget to double-check your order as staff sometimes forget to complete the order. If you order something like a Mcplant burger, prepare to wait. The staff are generally friendly and often very busy serving the customers or tidying after them.

they didn’t put my mayo in my mayo chicken burger and put lettuce in when I asked not to. I am very sad now😭😭😭

I have been to hundreds of McDonald’s around the world and by far this is the worst I ever had. The place is dirty. The food is not fresh. You would really feel disgusted after eating here.

Service is very good and their coffee is lovely.

The service is slow. Food is mid and teens ravage the place with uncleanliness and curse words. They’re rude to you on the phone and assume your a prank caller if your voice has a hint of young.

Went with my daughter & my granddaughter who is autistic. My daughter asked could they swap the barbecue sauce on the burger for mayonnaise on my granddaughter’s burger as she was allergic to barbecue sauce. They wouldn’t do it! They said if it’s not on the till they can’t do it!! My daughter said they swap it in barrow in Furness macdonalds & they just said ‘well they shouldn’t they aren’t allowed’ … my granddaughter was stressing out the staff could see the situation wasn’t very good but they let a 4 year autistic child cry her eyes out & start stressing .. all because they wouldn’t swap one sauce for a different sauce even when she was allergic to it. The man in charge would not have it at all but what’s the difference it shouldn’t have been a problem at all! Other parents were actually coming up & asking were we alright & how absolutely awful that was they wouldn’t do it. I am never going back there again AND my crispy chicken burger was over cooked so dry I couldn’t chew it hardly & about 2 tiny strips of lettuce nothing else the burger bun was so toasted it was nearly black & my coffee was lukewarm. Don’t bother going here it really is the worst macdonalds in Cumbria

Never any ice drinks, long waits for service, hit n miss on serviettes.

Lost around 6 kg while waiting for my food ordered cheese bites and a coke and going on 30 minutes later they still weren’t here turned out the girl with the red bun was too busy talking and had left my cheese bites to go cold and hadn’t even shouted my order number out, may I add I then missed my bus home due to waiting so long and lost another 10kg walking 1 hour and a half back home

This McD has got to have the slowest service in any branch I have ever visited, loads of food sitting in the chute but no orders being made up

If the order would be correct all the time then it would be great. But at least 1 out of every 5 orders is incorrect with missing or wrong items.

5 march, horrible smell is gone thank god, but service was incredibly slow. There wasn't really many customers, just very very slow. Previous review: The reason for 1 star is the stench. For some reason when entering the store there is a smell that totally puts me off my food. It's not in any other McDonald's, just this one. It's like a sour bin smell that hits you when you walk in. 🤢

Took my grandchildren threw the drive threw, I was askrd what I wanted, gave the first order and nothing waited and waited, car next to me got his order through, still nothing on my order, so I decided to carry on to the pay window, took another 10 mins to reach. I explained at the window that the bloke ask for my order, but then went dead. She replied nothing she could do, I carried saying, I started with my order and the bloke didn't reply. Her answer was he had to go and do something, yeah halfway me giving him my order. She said she couldn't take my order and will have to go back round. Absolutely not a chance.. What I should of done was refuse to move, but didn't want to show a scene in front of grandkids. Whitehaven McDonald's you are a disgrace.

Ordered a delivery, food came and half of it was missing as well as all the dips we paid extra for! Rang them up who then said we can't do anything you will have to call customer support. Called customer support and after being passed back and forth supposedly we will get a refund in 3-5 days for what are missing. Sat here hungry and annoyed because why should I pay delivery charge to re-order the stuff they forgot to send me!!!

I wouldn't recommend using the app to order delivery, constantly missing items or not reading very simple instructions 4 out 5 deliveries in less than a month they have got wrong ..useless

one certain batch of chicken nuggets gave me cryptosporidiosis. i wish i was joking. however one star because the staff in general are lovely

Tried to get a Mcdelivery through the McDonald's app, after ordering and paying the app said it would take approximately 40 minutes. The delivery time then kept increasing by 10 minutes. We waited an hour and a half and then the order was cancelled!

It's staffed with incompetent locals unfortunately. If ever there was an argument for more immigration this is the place for it. If they can't handle a simple job like this, then what use are they? They probably all have "mental health" problems too. Sick of this generation of s.h.i t e. There's no investment in West Cumbria because the people are not worth investing in. We need MORE immigration not less, then things might actually work.

Worst McDonald’s around! Staff can’t get orders right and are garenteed to forgot something from your order! It shouldn’t be that hard! Always check your orders before you leave and don’t bother with delivery as it won’t be correct! Absolute joke

Is utter incompetence a prerequisite to work at this maccies..? Literally every time I’ve asked for either something extra or to be left out it’s completely ignored but still printed on the label and I get charged for it…. Going in to point out their screw up is pointless too because apparently they can’t process refunds in store and you’ve to email their customer service team.

Service is very slow for a fast food place. If you are take out and haven't ordered on line you are last priority in line after the delivery companies, drive through and sit inside. They need a better system to make sure all are equal. When we got the food is was okay and the staff are polite and friendly

Yet again I drive home after being stuck in the parking bay for ages ,as I had requested plain cheese burgers , and what do I find yet again ,which seems to be a weekly occurrence at this McDonald's, was the burgers full of relish and onions , the money I've wasted at this place is unreal. Im usually patient and not one for complaining but similar has happened so many times now I am.7.40 am wed 15 nov 23,sat at drive thru alone waiting to be served just myself waiting for a good 8 to 10 minutes,two other cars filter past me into the outside order point and get served,I eventually just drive round to the payment point to place the order and im virtually called a liar by young man after I ask if the anyone is serving at point No 1,this angered me hence this review,beware.

The queue for the Drive thur was short but toke forever to get served, once we got to the collection window was told we had to pick other drinks as milkshakes weren’t available, I asked for a refund as we didn’t want other drinks. The young blonde girl was very snappy and said we had to pick other drinks and I explained I wanted a refund she came back with £4 98p less than the drinks cost but I couldn’t be bothered to argue. Once our order got passed to us I realised another item was missing, I raised this and the young girl literal had a tantrum and told me I had to go around again, I refuse as all of our food would be cold and ruined by that time. She stormed off so I asked another staff member to call a manager over he called out the name louis but he never came over, finally the young girl returned launched the missing item and me and told me take it and go!! I was in absolute shock at the rudeness and behaviour of the staff and will be raising this with head office.

Can't fault the food or service. Good quality and quick service.

It was okay, The only issue I had was a member of staff coming up to me, I had my headphones in and didn't see him until he was walking off then I took out a headphone and heard him saying to a manager "I've told him" but I've no idea what I was told.

Typical McDonald's though the staff all looked miserable. Marked down for the food as I only wanted a burger with no cheese or pickle whilst I completed a job I had done in the area. There was no pickle but there was cheese. I'm not allergic to dairy but they don't know that so a bit black mark for getting the order wrong. Yes I checked the receipt which said no cheese.

Grandkids love McDonalds eat everything without a fuss so good experience. Love the chicken nuggets

Typical McDonald’s, typically is better than the Workington branch (Faster Service, Nicer Food, Milkshake’s available more often, etc), drive through does feature a fairly tight turn but shouldn’t be an issue to most drivers.

Absolutely shocking. Had to wait for a staff member to come out to another car and ask about our order as we hadn't received it. It comes out a few minutes later and the advertised flurry wasn't available. We got an alternative but then turns out the order was cold due to sitting for ages. And the food didn't have the extra stuff we had ordered on the big mac. The staff member was grumpy and moody

They sort all uber eats orders out first so be prepared to wait like 30-40 mins for your bog standard maccies food , and found a hair on my burger

It's McDonald's, did Drive through for a coffee.

Foods always been fine but can never shake the smell of sewage in there. Better to go than to eat in.

Sitting outside with a dog, the staff came out and asked if they could get the dog some water, while the one staff member was getting the water, another asked the same. So pleased that they took the time to look after everyone, including the dog.

I got a delivery and my mcflurry came completely melted had to drink it also all food was cold

There is a very heavy smell in the store. So couldn't stay longer with my daughter. It's smells like a toilet issue . My last 2 visits I had same experience.

All standard as you can expect. Few stores on seme parking area b&m ,shoes and couple more.

Yet again they got it wrong, it seems my mighty McMuffin doesn't come with a egg ! 7:30 AM not another customer daughters iced latte 2/3 full, should have gone to workington they only get it wrong 1 out of 10 Whitehavens more like 50%.

The staff are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there are too many urchins in the store and I can’t have a good meal.

Got to the drive through at 10:50, there was a long queue, got to order at 11:03, 3 minutes past 11 and they refused to serve breakfast. Manager asks me what I wanted then claims all the mcmuffins were sold out but I saw the person in front just got their order from their screen. Absolute trash service.

Why does it smell so bad inside? What is that? Food and bits all over the floor in the kitchen too. Food tastes normal but I'm always a bit worried about hygiene and I can't sit in because of the smell.

A standard McDonald's with food never great but never bad. The thing that sets our McDonald's apart from the rest is the front of house staff. They are always busy helping folk out and keeping order when necessary. They are a great asset to them and probably under recognised.

Was very busy. Took over 15 mins to get 3 triple cheese burgers and 2 fries. When we opened our food it was poorly made, sauce was pouring out of them. Fries were cold. One of the worse McDonald's I've ever had. And paid £12 for it!
