I always use click and collect. Usually speedy service. Staff are always polite and cheerful

Slow slow very slow. Food cold too. Wrong food twice now.

As a regular it pains me leaving this review but the place definitely needs some attention. If you are a party of 3 or more prepare to eat cold chips. If you are lucky, maybe, the rest of the order will still be lukewarm. Also factor a longer wait than normal. One of the reasons for delays is that delivery drivers get priority service at the counter. Also worth mentioning that there are only 2 disabled bays and delivery drivers often use them as their private parking. Just go there if you have a lot of time and are prepared to send food back when it will get to you after 30 min cold...

Ordered a McDelivery from here and it came without the Big Mac. Rang the store, but nothing they can do apparently as they don’t control the drivers. Why is that my problem? Your incompetence in store meant the bag you gave the delivery driver didn’t have the food in that I ordered and paid for. Directed to use the app to apply for a refund before the person then just put the phone down. Tried to apply for the refund through the app but as soon as you say it’s a problem with McDelivery, it tells you to contact Uber Eats as they control the drivers. Why is it their problem that McDonalds staff in store can’t pack a bag correctly? The drivers don’t look in the sealed bags to make sure it has everything. Very poor customer service from McDonalds.

When was the last time they got your order right?, may aswell order small fries and you'll. End up with some banquet from another family.

Food is typical mcdonalds fayre. Service on this particular visit wasn't up to par I'm afraid. Left my best friend waiting at the counter whilst prioritising online delivery orders

Was excited to have a local Maccies for Uber eats delivery. Had a few orders and more have come with missing items than correct orders. Bit disappointing.

Ordered a bbq smokehouse and instead got one of those saver menu chicken burgers inside the smokehouse bun with a bit of lettuce on top to cover it up. My partner ordered a grilled chicken salad and got just salad in a box. Never ordering again and I have ordered from here for a while now.

Absolute joke. Ordered via just eat and an hour later the order is cancelled due to ‘unable to make your order’. Why would it take an hour to determine this?!?

Just been through the drive through got home with my chicken selects meal and all my chicken is cold. Totally spoil my meal. Chips are not good either not cooked long enough so still white and they are cold too.

Wouldn't drive through, staff misheard what you order and then when comes too... Orders wrong... But there's nothing you can do about it as that's what you've already paid for.. even though it wasn't what you'd ordered. Wouldn't bother. Go to your local cafe and support local businesses. Not convenient cancer food.. EDIT: just been into the maccies on foot. And the service was slow to say I only ordered a drink, there was one person in the queue and the online order machine isn't dispensing ticket numbers. Sort your store out or I'm standing out the front of it with signs to drive away business

The slowest fast food delivery. Expect to wait 20+ minutes in click and collect only to receive cold food

I placed an order through the apps, After I placed the order, I found that the store was closed because system update, so I can't pick up my order. After that, I went to the store next day, I hope I can pick up my order but the store manager said that the bank would not debit my money, so I trust he said and didn't pick up my order, after few date later, but in the end it was debited. Firstly, why can still place orders through the app after the store is closed? Second, the store manager said that he would not count but in the end he did. It felt like a lie and I would not place order here again.

We are visiting from Los Angeles. We usually eat at this McDonald's. Each year, the highlight is Rachel. She is amazing. This is the second year I have observed her and how she flawlessly and naturally interacts with the customers. It's like their her family the way she welcomes them and takes the time to make sure they are okay and their food is good. The way she manages hopefully makes the team feel calm and of course not stressed. I know this McDonald's is a busy one. Rachel is always greeting and cleaning. Rachel even tried to comfort a nervous young man applying for a job. There is another lady with short dark hair and glasses. She was great also. Rachel treats people like people who matter and not just a revenue source. Thank you Rachel. We will be back hopefully next year. God bless you and your team.

A great MC Donald's with plenty of seating

I made a collection order from the numbered bays (13) clearly stated on the app however they gave me the wrong order and I didn't realise till I got home No apology for my time ,wasted fuel or the disappointment of my children I did asked for a voucher or anything to make up for the inconvenience but the reply from the shift manager was a rude NO as if it was my fault I'm certain it's a regular gesture that mcdonald's adhere to when they make a mistake but I didn't fit the criteria I guess

Drive through: half portion of luke-warm chips, badly made burger all for £8. Not good value and should be better for the money paid.

With Clay Cross being my local, it’s more convenient the. Chesterfield. But each time I order, it’s more like a game of let’s guess what’s not in the bag this time. Always have missing items, resulting in a return to have to get the missing food. I can’t recall a time I’ve ordered and somethings not been missing. This time, order a McSpicy Chicken. Even the box says Chicken. To my surprise, opened the box to be presented with a McSpicy - Quarter Pounder. Whoever is in the kitchen needs a basic lesson on the types of meat available on the market. How can you mix up Chicken with a Beef burger. If you like getting in your steps, have extra fuel to keep returning or just like to speak to staff about missing food / wrong order, Clay Cross McDonalds is your perfect place! Well Done Clay Cross, can see why you have a high staff turnover in this store.

Waited 30 mins then had cold food in take out bag but ordered table service. Complained and it was redelivered but chips still luke warm.

Go through drive-through, asked to wait in a bay, and often comes wrong, and I have to go in, which almost defeats the convenience of a drive-through.

Ordered a Chicken Big Mac, only to receive a normal Big Mac inside a Chicken Big Mac Box. This site has been pretty much poor every time we've been. Slow and Disorganised members of staff. We shall not be returning here anymore.

Food is great, IF you receive it. This branch is notoriously bad at getting your food order wrong. If you're utilising the drive through, pull over in the car-park and check it prior to leaving. If using a delivery service, ensure you know how to utilise the refund function. You're going to need it! Only sure way they're getting your order correct here, is by going in and eating in (using a tray so they can see what is on it). It's a very easy resolve for them to just have someone on the pass, checking the contents of the bags but, alas, this doesn't seem to happen. Must do better Clay-Cross.

We just love Macdonald's in the uk . I use this MacDonald for my daughter dog walk . An hour walk then sit outside use the app and get a coffee they then delivere it outside. There are tables under cover . 2nd time I have done this and its good training for the young dog to get use to distractions. Lovely friendly staff.

Absolutely no need for the way the workers are they are vile to the people who come in to eat, cold drink when they meant to be hot, the way 1 of them spoke to another member off staff was disgusting and moaning cuz they been asked for sauce and talking about the customers while they walk away from them

Ordered quarter pounder deluxe with customisations due to allergies but when I received it it had everything on so i took it back to get it corrected, stood waiting 5 mins calling for someone but they kept walking straight past. The manager took the burger to correct it but I was waiting another 20 minutes because he had forgotten about it. About to eat the new burger and saw the customisation was wrong again. After taking it back another time and receiving yet another burger, in total I waited 35 minutes! Terrible service.

The service here is often slow and disorganized. When using the drive-thru, it's hit or miss whether you'll be asked to park in a bay. If you do, expect to wait 10-15 minutes even for a small order like 9 chicken nuggets and a cheeseburger. They tend to let 10+ cars pass before fulfilling your order, which can be frustrating. Additionally, I've experienced missing items from my order multiple times. I'd recommend always double-checking your order before leaving.

Yet again items missing from the order. If you are too busy to check the orders are complete before despatch, you need more staff. Or staff who can at least count!

If your on shift tonight 28/3/24.... 7:30pm you should be very ashamed of yourselves. We was served but was left waiting in a bay for 20 minutes then I called by phone to see what the hold up was, and the ignorant girl said do you mind waiting longer we're very busy... finally after 30 minutes our cold food came.... check your cameras it went straight in your bin. 🤬

Went here today and spent 30 minutes in the drive thru. From 8.15 until 8.45pm. Not a huge queue, just an exceptionally slow and inadequate service. Was given the wrong drink and food was cold. Absolute waste of time and money. Avoid!

Absolutely shocking....food badly wrapped...looked like it was just chucked in the bag... Food cold egg looked and tasted like it was made last and bacon didn't go anywhere near a frying pan.

It's nice to go even when children go with their parents they're quite some lady staff are gorgeous and if you're meal us going to be slightly longer they will give you a number and you rake your seat they'll bring your food over It's hot. And you can add more burgers or fries, salad gherkin, etc. But McDonald's is getting very pricey if a family of 6 goes and they're all above age 16 I can see the total meal cost would be in excess of around £100 it's okay for a treat but it will cost you a arm and a leg if you go upto three times per week it would be easier and cheaper to buy the stuff from Asda or Aldi and have a sit down meal with family the only difference is with McDonald's you don't have to wash up

Fast food at its finest. As a taxi driver it comes in very handy for that quick meal while working. Friendly staff and clean inside and out.

Ordered a mcdelivery, didn't take too long to arrive however there were items missing which means someone not getting food that I've paid for (not the first time they have left out items from my order, should have learnt not to order a delivery from them after the first time!) and the food was pretty much cold. No point calling to complain because they don't offer a refund or replacement, only a voucher which doesn't really cut it. Don't use them for mcdelivery. Drive through and eat in are usually alright but delivery is shocking.

I placed my order by mobile/cell while in McDonald's and nipped to the toilet. I was not there long, came out and stood at the counter. There was a bag on the counter but nobody to serve. After 5 minutes I asked a server whose was the bag. She looked and said '66', it was mine. Not great service!

Always order from McDelivery App or Uber Eats and every single time we’ve had to ring them because food has been missing, whether it’s just fries or a whole meal. 90% of the time food is cold when arrives! Depending on who answers the phone when you ring depends on how helpful staff are going to be. Ludicrous that this many years into being opened and they don’t have a clue what they’re doing, and don’t even try to get a refund because it’s impossible!

Don’t like giving negative feed back but I don’t think I’ve had an order that hasn’t had something missing. We come here for a treat for the kids,last order came to just over £30 only for two of the meals not have any fries with them, one happy meal only had two chicken nuggets and yet again no ketchup at all with the meals.

Do not order from here, ordered the other day and they missed a full meal from my order, I was missing a Big Mac meal, 6 nuggets and a coke, just ordered a breakfast from here again and after telling me a courier had gone to pick this up they had then cancelled it. Called into this McDonald’s for a coffee and a burger on a Monday afternoon, it wasn’t busy inside with 3/4 customers. Wasn’t a big queue around the drive through either, however after ordering a double cheeseburger and a coffee I had to wait over 25 minutes. I asked politely a couple of times if they were working on my order as I saw multiple people come and go while I was stood waiting, I was told twice by a supervisor that my order was being bagged up. It still took 5 minutes to get my order, I said I wouldn’t he happy if my food was cold when receiving the order, unsurprisingly the burger was cold and they tried to give me the coffee that had been sat on the side for 25 minutes! Absolutely disgraceful attitude from the staff when I explained why I was unhappy. I wasn’t going to leave a negative review but looking at other peoples reviews they were saying this restaurant is consistently bad! Avoid this and drive to Alfreton or chesterfield.

Cheese bites sharebox, think the oil was too hot as some had exploded a d so only got the shell of the cheese bites not to mention the bottom of box was pretty wet with oil.

I don't usually write bad reviews but this isn't the first time I've had very slow service here. I ordered in the drive through and then was asked to wait in the click and collect area. I waited and drank my coffee. After 20 mins they were just stacking more and more cars into waiting areas. The food came out but the whole place was chaos. The staff were very polite and were obviously struggling with orders. The whole point of a drive through order is that customers are usually in a rush. The food was cold and it was a waste of nearly £7.00. Hope the manager can sort this as other customers were complaining its like this every time they use this branch. Its a shame.

It was ok, expensive for a Macdonald's

Chicken Select pieces were a bit chewy but everything else was OK. Freshly cooked fries nice and hot and crispy. Desserts getting smaller though.

Not one for leaving negative reviews but this restaurant is consistently poor. We call here most weeks after little lad has had football and there is genuinely always something a miss. This can be taking ages, food of poor quality, or ordering a large and getting less for your money. Honestly believe the staff here must be on a bonus for saving fries, every time we go they only ever half full at best. Too late when home to sort out.

It's really expensive now and the portion sizes especially the fries seem to be getting smaller and smaller. Always slow at serving too.

Absolutely horrifying. I don't understand how it's still open, staff are about 16 yet have the brain capacity of an 8 year old. Food is mediocre even for McDonald's. Mostly always under cooked or wrong.

We had a lovely breakfast served at our table. Egg & Bacon Muffins, Hash Browns & Caramel Latte. Everything was hot. it went down a treat. Thank you!

Really cold burger and we ate in. Asked if they could cook bacon well done ... They said no, because it was all pre-cooked. I say it was still oinking. Also beware of £2.50 charge for a milkshake when you think it comes with the meal. Really disappointing. 😪

Just had “food” from here… suffice to say never again! After problems ordering at the drive through and the right hand not understanding the left we finally got back to the office with the order. The burger and wrap was fine. The chicken strips were questionable. The “fries” were cold and the consistency of rubber. Lord knows how long they’d been lying around! I would definitely NOT recommend to anyone!

Fast service, politie, nice and hot food

It took ages for drive in order to be cooked early morning approx 5am & had to ask for a receipt, food was cold. Well we thought it might have improved 3 years after we left this review, and all I can say is tonight's delivery of lukewarm food & fries like rubber & a missing burger has left us disappointed yet again, so twice bitten, never again. Not to be reccomended

Honestly this McDonald's gets worse and not better. The fries were under filled and the burger a total disgrace. All cold.

We called late on a Sunday night but the restaurant was still quite busy with drive throughs and take aways. We chose to dine inside using table service. John W took our order and delivered the food which was fine. He was very sociable and keen to ensure we enjoyed our visit. A very satisfying meal.

This has previously been one of our favourite Mcd's but recently the fries have been half-cooked, pale & limp. Also, usually have no sauces despite them being part of the order & short of numbers of items in shareboxes. As I usually use the drive through it's not easy to check without holding everyone up. To be fair, I have noticed similar issues with other locations, but as we use this one more frequently it is more noticeable.

Should be called Mcjoke! Don't order delivery, if you do pay with PayPal. Wrong items sent, some missing , and some cold. Then McDonald's blame uber eats and uber eats blame McDonald's.

Went through the drive through, they missed an item off my order, the girls gave me my items and ran off. upon checking id got everything, i said excuse me there is an item missing. Well the woman then questioned what i thought was missing checked bag and reciept, with an attitude. I am Not happy with her stuck up attitude.

Don't go at midnight they close the drive-thru get told to come inside and then they reboot there systems and make u wait 15 to 20 minutes before ordering food and yet the fries are still stone cold very poor service
