Been coming here for nearly 30 years. That's all you need to know!!! Unerring quality and value for money, whether it's kebab, curry, or the BEST pizza that I've ever tasted. Do yourself a favour and you'll never look back. This review was 3 years ago. I've no idea what has happened in that time. I'm not sure if Mo is still running this place, but it smacks of a change of ownership. Our last 2 orders have been incorrect, late, and tasteless. It's really disappointing to say this but I won't be using Clay Cross Kebabs and Pizza House again. Do yourself a favour and follow my lead, and you'll never look back.

I ordered for delivery a pizza and a kebab on naan The pizza base was soggy, I asked for cilli base I got tomato I asked and paid for pineapple onion and prawns, and there were none. The kebab was tasteless no jalapenos, tincy amount of meat and again soggy naan. All in all I would not recommend this place, unless you have Ill fitting dentures and are on soft food. Not nice, not tasty, and not ordering again

Been having food from kebab and curry house for like 10 years now and they always deliver with excellent: customer service, quality and great prices all such nice and genuine people I would recommend to anyone who lives nearby to give them a try!!!10/10

Really nice food, served quickly.

Food was sent cold took 1hr 25 min to come, phoned up to be told well its not cold because we cooked yours first. Then why did it take 1hr 25 min. They refused to send fresh food out and said ill sort you out next time, and when i said there probably wont be a next time he said well p*ss off then and put phone down.

WORST TAKEAWAY AROUND I ordered 3 chicken burgers turned up like this raw and severely undercooked , the first 2 burgers where white but slimy , when I tried to ring to complain I tried several times with no answer at all and to top it off as my husband had eaten part of his before he realised he has ended up ill , the phone number I phoned they didn't answer so I spent over half an hour trying to get through only to find the number is an old one . Even when I did get through they claimed they checked the burgers with a knife to see if they were cooked and disbelieved me .

TERRIBLE! roughly 1 week ago e had the worst experience with this company. Firstly the order was wrong. Second it was over 1 hour late, Lastly we have been chasing a refund for over 1 week now and we keep getting fobbed off saying MO the manager is in the day after every single time. Grow a pair and own up to your terrible service.

Been using Kebab house for years now! Good food but really need to up there game now on the food being cold when delivered and the salad is none existing.. All in all a bit Drab.

Been going for years!had 2 kebebs both burnt also ordered a cheese garlic bread for kids ordered 10in and gave us a 8in. Not be going again.

Ordered a lamb shish with salad, ordered it in a tray, not in pitta bread but this is what I got. Presentation was sloppy and sadly the taste didn’t make up for it. Dry, tough and chewy goes to describe both the kebab meat itself and the pitta bread it came in. Terrible quality and a sad portion size for what you’re paying for! Avoid!

I ordered, medium donner kebab with all salad, expecting, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, cabbage, onion, jalapeños,half a slice of cucumber and half a slice of tomato not sure what the rest was supposed to be but the donner meat was over cooked!!! As for chilli sauce, must have been a teaspoon. 😡😡 Also ordered, extra large lamb shish, 4/5 cubes of overcooked meat, I ordered it on pitta but came in naan and the salad was less than my medium size kebab. Very disappointed won’t order from here again.

Been going here for years but recent food was awful - 45mins quoted online. Got to an hour and the (very rude) guy on phone said it'd just left and would be 5mins. 20 mins later our food arrived, stone cold. We had to microwave all of it. My pizza was congealed and looked / tasted disgusting. Tried to call but no answer, emailed my complaint- no answer. Service was awful and food was disgusting. Wanted a refund/ credit but no communication from them at all.

I paid over £30 on our meal . Our food was delivered cold I rang up to report about this matter and was told to put it in the microwave and warm it up, when paying that amount of money I expect warm food

Avoid kebabs used to be great now not. Just full of oil but dry meat. Salad was supposed to be seperate it wasn't so kids wouldn't eat it. And half order missing took over an hour to sort out food that haven't arrived. My 2nd order in 2 weeks thought they might just if had bad night but no. Rubbish food very slow service Again avoid

I have been visiting this place for over 20 years and I could never fault it. However, I ordered last weekend and can honestly say that will be the last time they have my custom. I ordered 5 kebabs, 3 were completely wrong with the wrong meats and no sauce. The man on the front who i think is in charge is so ignorant and rude, he needs some lessons in customer service.

Took ages to deliver. Came cold. Kabab meat was hard, chicken meat burnt, chips and cheese hardly any cheese. Asked for sauces and came with non after making it very clear several times plenty of chilli, mayo, and lemon . Free garlic bread was a tiny 8" version on a £25 order . Poor food won't use again. It's also been noticed that there not as busy as they used to be a few years ago terrable.

Had kebab last night, was dreadful, pitta was rock hard and separate to kebab and came with no salad

Just had a takeaway from this place. Best one I’ve had in a long tike. It’s like they gave a damn about the flavours. Could have had this in a curry house and would have been delighted. Fantastic

Pizza wasn't cooked enough. Kebab was burnt and had no sauce on. Also forgot extra naan and sauces. Was going to refund us but never came!

Had a few deliveries from here in the past, but last night's was awful. Very soggy kebab that was stuck to the wrapper,and hardly had any meat or salad in. very watery chicken tikka and smelly rice. Hence went in the bin. Never ordering from here again. They seem to only have 3 stars instead of the 5 they used to have.

When food arrived the chicken was burnt on all our kebabs. The fries were not edible as they were also burnt to a crisp. We rang to complain about the fries and was told they would send some fresh ones out which was fair but sat here 40 minutes later we still have no fries and even when they do arrive its to late now. Won't be ordering again, we will stick to chubbys next door 👍🏻

I ordered a 10 inch pizza and an 8 inch garlic bread with cheese. Told 1 hour for delivery. Phoned after 90 minutes they said it was on its way. Phoned again 20 minutes later to be told it would be going out in 20 minutes. Another half hour later i rang again, to find the driver delivered other orders first and mine would be a couple of minutes. Over 2 hours 30 minutes! It gets worse, the pizza is a soggy mess and the garlic bread is cold. Disgusting!!!

Been using this place on and off for many years, not anymore! Ordered our food this evening at 6.46pm to be told the usual 45-60mins. Food arrived at 7.10pm, we rang a couple of times to see if there was a problem to be told it was on its way...usual answer lol! I specifically asked that my daughters cheesy chips didn't have grease proof paper on top as this sticks the cheese, came with grease proof paper stuck to the cheese and couldn't be separated so thrown in bin, daughter off to maccy D's! Sons pizza cremated and our wheelbarrow had hardly any salad or sauces and predominantly doner...hardly any chicken or shish. Cold on arrival and driver just said short staffed! Top service NOT!!!!

Order took 40 mins . Arrived and was told he forgot about my order which I phone thru to collect, Had to wait another 15minutes large kebab. Wasn't big enough for two people and the meat was cold inside. Used to be a great place. Think standard have been lost

Ordered a chicken rogan josh and naan with a doner kebab on naan. It came with little sauce cold. The naan on the kebab was stuck to the paper wrapping and distingrated due to being over cooked. It was more like toast than a naan bread. The whole kebab was cold. We rang up to complain straight away and were basically shouted out down the phone saying the chef had cooked this dish for 20 years and the sauce was supposed to be dry. Never gad tgat in 30 years of eating from Asian takeaways/restrurants. Avoid at all costs

Avoid like the plague. My husband's nan was stuck to the polistririne packing and the meat was cold. My rogan josh was cold and was solidified. I phoned to complain, after waiting an hour for delivery, to be told that a rogan josh was a dry dish!! Really!! And that I was insulting his 20 years experience of cooking. He was consenting and rude i asked for a refund and he said no as the manager wasn't there. I've bagged it up and will be returning it to the manager tomorrow

Ordered a take away at 19.10 to be told a 1hr time slot delivery which ok fine. I called at 20.30 to be told waiting for a delivery. I then called again at 20.45 to be told its on its way. I received my order at 21.00! For it then to be luke warm and soggy chips! I most definitely do not recommend and will not be ordering from here again!!!

Gorgeous food and a generous portion at a reasonable price what more can you do

Had takeaway from here several times and not normally to bad, but this evenings order was terrible and was thrown away, the chicken was over cooked and tikka sauce was very thick and tasteless, it was not freshly cooked and I suspect it was left over from the night before or definitely tasted like it, nan bread was wet through as was wrapped up in foil and sweated, sadly will not be ordering from here again

Just had delivered a quarter pounder cheese burger and fries, the fries had been recooked tasted awful, the burger and salad salad not fresh reheated in microwave, the burger was disgusting it was black and it smelt iff

I will never order from here again. The order took nearly two hours to arrive, when it did I wish it hadn't. The chips were soggy and the onions on the cardboard burger was extremely burnt but did come with bonus hairs from chef. The pizza and garlic bread was no better either to point were the dog wouldn't even eat it. The order was so bad they even sent the wrong sauce. I would strongly advise againat ordering from this takeaway.

Love this place always use them and they are always brill if any mistakes have been done which we are only human it can happen !! My other half is very picky with his food but never has a issue with them !! Keep up the good work guys!!’ Oh just ordered again 😂

Fast delivery service food really good

We found the menu for this takeaway in the drawer at our holiday lodge about ten minutes drive away. It has a wide range of food - not just kebabs, but a huge range of curries, pizzas and more, with all sorts of portion sizes and variations catered for. We registered for the online order process, and it said ready for collection in 20 minutes - delivery is also available but would take an hour or so, so my husband collected it - on arrival each time it was all ready, nice and hot, and arrived back with us ten minutes later still hot. We ended up using this place twice in our week's stay - once at the beginning and also on the last night, as it was easy, quick, convenient and tasty, with something for all of us, and we were all happy to have it again. The pizzas were really well-cooked and tasty, with plenty of toppings (I can recommend the spicy veggie one, and my children liked their choices) and the chicken tikka masala curry my husband had was huge and really tasty, with rice or naan included plus really fresh, crispy poppadoms provided free. All really good value. I haven't seen the place myself but my husband was amazed that so many different varieties of food could come out of such a small place - he describes it as a tiny kitchen with a small waiting room outside, all looking rather run down! However, the quality of the food was great and we also noted that it has a 5 star Food Standards Agency rating from a few months ago, so they are clearly doing something right! We would happily use this place again when next in the area.

Gone really downhill. Food turned up half an hour late. Literally swimming in grease. Disgusting

AVOID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Used this place a year ago for food and the chicken was raw in the middle and the chips was cold . We recently decided to try a year later for a curry and just as we thought it could not be any worse we found some sort of black bug in my wife's korma and they forgot to send the boiled rice and to top things off they refuse to refund and collect the food or even replace the food and delivery the missing rice . There custermer service is rude and they just hang up on you . They are intimidating as they shout down the phone at each other in a different language. I also know that others I the village have had similar experiences and eat else where . Try Kathmandu curry just up the road they have 5 stars or charcoal grill across the road for pizzas or kebabs.

Got one on Friday night the family kebab wasn't as big as I thought and defo wouldn't feed a family I just wish I could get a kebab like in Manchester where I'm from but I can't seem to find one but this place is by far the best kebab house in chesterfield

Terrible*** we ordered a pizza burger and nuggets , the only decent thing was the nuggets the rest came cold, best place for the fries was the bin all black and dead also cold, had to ask driver for my bottle of Fanta claiming he ‘forgot’ didn’t come back to drop off the can of 7up. DREADFUL would’ve gave them 0 stars if it was possible

Waited nearly 2 hours for my order, which was -kids chicken nuggets -10” cheese and tomato pizza - Prawn puri and large cheesy chips. After a hour and a half, i rang the store up telling them when I placed my order and asked how long it would be, however the man on the phone interrupted me and was extremely rude, cut me off and just asked for my address said it’ll be another 15 minutes (which turned into another half hour) when it arrived, the prawns looked like they had been thrown about, the cheese was on one side of the fries which was stuck to grease proof paper and the nuggets were soggy. Very disappointed, and I certainly don’t recommend.

Been going here fir years abd i usually love the good. Tonight, my pizza was bashed and all mushed up in the box and it was cold. My garlic bread was cold, over cooked and rock-hard.The kebab we ordered on pita came on a naan. I could tell the guy on the phone wasn't paying attention when he was actually speaking to me. Disappointed as it was just a little birthday treat tonight ☹

Mould on the base of the pizza, poor customer service... put the phone down after complaining. Refused to refund... claims "green is from the black pans they use" green furry mould! "I'm too busy to deal with your complaint".... absolutely awful. Two 4 year old girls ate this as a treat for their birthday... awful people, awful food...

*****MOULDY PIZZA BASE****** Absolutely appalling!!...We had a garlic pizza bread arrive riddled in mould!... We phoned to inform them and that we would like to have it changed or a refund.... the person who answered hung up twice!!... we threatened with EHO and trading standards to which he replied "ok we've been visited twice by them and beat them both times" clearly been an issue in the past!!

Used to go all the time was great, recently they have gone very very downhill. This week they forgot one of our pizzas, the week before we got no dinner meat and when we phoned to complain said they’d send one out and never did. Never get the free bottle of pop or garlic bread even though we regularly spend around double the required amount for freebies. TERRIBLE!

Curry was fine and and the chips on their own were nice and hot. However, the fries sent with chicken for the kids were cold and cooked to within an inch of being teeth breaking. The pilau rice was so sticky that I could hold it on my finger upside down and it not move. It was barely rice at all, more mush to be honest, and to top it off, it was freezing cold, as in, like it hadn't been cooked. We don't have curry very much but whenever we have done over the years, we've always used here. We were fair looking forward to it tonight and I'm regretting going there. We'll be ordering from elsewhere in future I think.

There was a dead fly on the popadoms and the kids chicken nuggets were uncooked and when my mum called up to complain there said tht she was drunk also they was very late never again

Fue uno de los mejores que he probado. Incluso el curry olía de maravilla. El menú está en línea así que si tu lo suficientemente cerca y esperamos que sea tan contentos como yo.

We are local but as they say - have tried the rest but this is the best -- I'm not a great fan of the curries but I'm spoiled having lived in Balti land Birmingham for several years but generally these are great kebabs - particularly the Wheelbarrow is great - sizing is a little inconsistent depends who is on the pass !! They recently changed the sizing XL is too much .. can share though - Food always good and friendly staff

Just had chicken korma and pilau rice,what can I say watery rice bland chicken korma no taste what so ever worst Indian I've eaten ,gave it the dogs

Absolutely disgusting, ordered Saturday night, when it came the chicken burger was wrong and the bun was absolutely charcoaled, the scampi had melted into the polystyrene container so tasted rank,cheese burger you could have knocked nails in with,and the rice was full of water, when i phoned to complain i was I was lying!!!!!! I have saved all the food and will be reporting it !!!!!

I've been using clay cross kebab and curry house ever since I was about 14 years old! I'm now 41! Same owners, same top quality snap and still loyal!

Absolutely shocking today, waited over 90 minutes and the excuse i got was they only had 4 drivers, chicken in curry tasted like metal and rubbery, came stone cold, the sf chicken my 7 yr old got WAS pink inside regardless of them saying it was the colour of the bone and apparently it was cooked lovely..I have pictures to prove that was a lie, (my 7 yr old is in bed feeling sick now) the kids meal deal she got was supposed to come with a can of pop but they didn't send that, they also charged me 70p more than what the menu states price wise, 3rd time ordering from here and this is only time ive had these issues but there won't be another order especially how when I rang to complain a guy came on having a right go because I mentioned health and safety, he then hung up on me, one thing they should realise is don't try and belittle me you will lose!

Absolutely discussing waited over an hour and a hour the nan I ordered with cheese garlic and coriander was sent to me with chilli on It rang them back to request another one without chilli when I got it it was the same again so rang them back the guy then decided to lie to me on the phone telling me he had made it himself and was telling me I didn't know what coriander is. He then slipped up telling me the chef had made it when I requested him come take a look for it himself he then refused to give me fresh curry or nan or my money back and then put phone down when I rang back again he pretended he couldn't hear me and then put phone down again then blocked my number it wasn't until my dad rang them that the guy was polite and is now sending fresh curry and nan it was 7.30 when we originally ordered it's not 9.20

Ordered from here last for the first time and was disappointed orderd chicken jalfrazi which fella loved but orderd chicken tikka masala for me and my daughter to our disappointment ive never ate something so sweet I thought it was supposed to be spicy and the lemon rice was burnt waste of £25

Wanted a quick kebab as hadn't had one for a long time. Very fast and good service. Food was tasty. Could actually see fresh food being cooked which was a nice thing. Not some regurgitated stuff.

Ahora sé que yo pedí una pequeña pero a 6 libras este era ridículo... había unos 2 piezas de pollo y unos 5 capítulos de doner... muy decepcionado. No volveremos... la comida era buena, pero no mucho por su dinero.

Never had a bad meal,kebabs are the best in Chesterfield,we love the chicken tikka lamb shish mix on naan bread,also had the curries several times,place is always busy when we've been to pick our food up,that speaks for itself.

The food...... All of it. One of the best Kebab houses in Chesterfield. This has got to be the only place where they serve a wheel barrow kebab. You need one just to get it home.
