McDonald's in Carmarthenshire

The food was extremely exquisite, the staff were very polite and exquisite and the door was exquisite so overall it was exquisite

The food was amazing for a McDonalds but the service was awful, first of all they had NO manners and secondly one of the staff members shouted at me, although the atmosphere was alright it could definitely better

They have 2 places to order the at drive through but for some reason they will ignore people sitting at one order station while they serve 10 to 15 cars that were behind them at the other. I've seen this happen loads of times and it's really frustrating when it happens to you

Hit and miss here yesterday everything I ordered was in bag and correct order and my food was lovely last time I ordered a double quaterpounder I got home and there was literally half of a burger in it instead of the 2 that should of been with photo and complaint they did rectify it with a free meal no good that night when I was hungry but did go some way to easy my annoyance

Nice location with friendly staff. Service by Mike was outstanding. Went above and beyond to help with my query. Always a nice stop here on my way back to Cardiff. Highly recommended.

Staff are rude, never have the correct food, always give me the wrong food, I don’t think I’ve ever had a positive experience here, staff need to read the labels before handing food out👍🏼

I went in the afternoon and workers were so helpful.

Orderd from the drive through this evening, the order was wrong so had to to que up to get back into the car park and go in a nd get the missing items.. by the time i had the missing items the rest of the food was cold plus the Mc crispy had manky brown lettuce in it.

This McDonald's isn't a great representation for fast/easy food. I know nobody goes to any McDonald's expecting a Michelin star experience, but they could at least get orders right. Every time I visit (which isn't a lot) they seem to get at least one thing wrong with my order. It can vary from non important items like dips to really expensive missing items like share boxes. My last visit was not only missing items but was also cold, and I do mean everything was cold and not just fries. I wish there were a McDonald's in Ammanford so that I could stop using the Cross Hands whenever I'm in a pinch. The only reason the Cross Hands branch are still open is because they are the only one around. It's really not that difficult to read the ultra simple order system they use and actually give customers what they ordered! And to be fair everyone makes mistakes, but it happens literally every single time I visit there.

Great to have somewhere to eat late at night after work. Shame the drive through wasn't working and no receipt at the pay station. Food was cooked quickly, could have just done with the chips slightly warmer. Good service from the staff, thank you 👍🏼

Waited 7 minutes in the drive thru after ordering. No explanation for such poor and slow service. If you want fast food you're in the wrong place.

Poor service over several visits! The most recent Food seemed to have been on the shelf for ages. Order sent out incomplete...... I wouldn't recommend this branch to anyone.

My big mac was disgusting it was luke warm and soggy the fries on the other hand were fresh and crispy

Waited quite a while to take the order at the drive through then waited again to pay then had to ask for the card reader. Food was ready and the order was correct.

I am not one to discriminate but the new people employed there who are from other countries cannot do their job properly, they speak another language constantly at the window and also get my order wrong or cant understand me when I am speaking on the drive-thru speaker, something needs to get sorted here.

This place really needs a good looking over, the staff working there you'd swear the sauces are coming out of their own pockets when you ask for some. We had 2 big tasty on Saturday and a happy meal, the big tasty was stone cold the chips tasted hours old and freezing also. Bare in mind £8.29 for a crappy big tasty meal is a piss take. Throughout the night one of us was ill 🤢 now that's saying something to think that's the only thing that was eaten that day. And it shows how poor it was the little one only had 1 chicken nuggets and around 3 chips eaten from her happy meal. Local mcdonalds to us but the last time we will be going there. Rather go further afield than stick money in this mcdonalds

ordered a cheesy chicken mc crispy and recover a big tasty. didn’t realise until i’ve gotten home and i don’t eat beef extremely annoyed, the only good thing about this mc donald’s is one member of staff who is always so helpful and polite- I believe her name is April she’s fabulous other than that it’s rubbish

after waiting 10 minutes for our food at the drive through, it arrived cold. very disappointing. I also asked for the order to be put in separate bags and was prepared to pay extra for . when my order arrived, it all came in one bag and I complained, he said sorry and walked away,causing the 3 children to fight over the one bag, causing a mess in my car. I will be ordering and paying for each item separately next time.

If you want a youth club this is the place to be have seen kids in there drinking and shouting staff can't be arsed and the young boys that work there are trying to chat up the young girls not a good example of a family establishment I will not take my children inside

The drive through experience here is terrible. It's so busy and you're always asked to park and wait for it to be brought out. Which is an issue as during the day the parking is terrible. Not a great experience.

Every time the chips was cold again 4th time now and burger Luke warm not good noticed chips are standing for a while kept warm and my grandaughter had take away 3 nuggets instead of 4

Food wasn't as hot as it should be and the chips almost tasted stale, it was a very busy lunchtime. The nuggets were great though, freshly cooked and piping hot!

Always extremely busy and they can't cope at peak times. Food is never hot, and ordering food online is a complete waste of time at peak times because they keep pushing the time on . Had one order two hours late.

Just called in for a decaff coffee so asked a lady behind the counter. She was really friendly but explained they don't sell decaff coffee. Perhaps one day they will!

TL:DR Goto the kfc/bk on the other side of the roundabout. (Or to a different McD if you must) So, it’s one of *those* mcdonalds. Chips always cold, often unsalted and dry. Regularly have to go back to get parts of the meal they forgot to put in. (And almost always forget the sauces) Usually skimp on the sauces in the burgers, the drinks are often watered down (or far too much ice in the case of the iced drinks). I think the only half-decent meal we’ve had from this one is when they were being inspected (saw someone behind the counter with clipboard). Which kept us trying this one again to see if we could get a good meal. This last meal (that prompted this) was so bad we’ve left half of it. And that’s not something we do at all. Ugh…. Doesn’t help that it’s often overrun with teens and with more flies than you’d like. The KFC on the other exit of the roundabout is a much higher tier, the Burger king also.

Not as fast as you would expect almost every car has to pull over and wait for their order.

Genuinely dissapointed with this store. It provides opening times but you never able to get a early drive through breakfast. The service on drive through well is daunting. You end up waiting at the order area longer then any other store, I mean I have waited 10 minutes before driving off without an order. Clearly they have no staff or are not managed properly. I'm not one to provide negative reviews but it got to the stage where I avoid using this store at all.

Unless im very hungry I don't go. Chicken burger fell apart when eating. Not good

Travelling up to Bristol airport so stopped off at Cross Hands for breakfast. Lovely bacon, sausage and egg roll, and a latte.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been there and received half filled boxes of chips and the ice cream machine broken. It’s almost impossible to get a McFlurry there. It’s not uncommon for there drinks machine to be broken to. Rubbish.

Forgot most of the food and what we did have was cold

Yesterday my car broke down in Cross Hands McDonald’s car park- Tom and Chris who are employees at this McDonalds went above and beyond by jump starting my car ! I was so grateful!! Amazing customer service guys a massive thanks to you both !!!

Haven't been to McDonald's in a while and wont be again, luke warm coffee with no flavour and the hat trick burger was dry with little taste, i honestly don't think I've payed so much and been so disappointed anywhere else .

By far one of the dirtiest McDonald's I've ever been to. You have to clean tables yourself if you want to sit in, the floors are full of food and rubbish, bins are always full, toilets absolutely stink! Food is McDonald's they always miss something out or make something wrong so that's expected with the food but this restaurant is so dirty they had plenty of staff behind the counter but not a single person cleaning, plenty standing round. Time to lean time to clean!

Unbelievable between this restaurant and llanelli restaurant. 0 brain cells. People check your burgers before driving off. I made this mistake. Ordered 3 hatrick burger meals. When I got home found only 2 beef patties were in each one. No point phoning nobody ever answers. Counting to 3 is not difficult. But I guess for a mcdonald's employee it is.

Was waiting for food 20minutes , workers standing and talking with each other nonsenses instead of doing job , in the time that was waiting at least 3 people came ask where is they order , forgot to put desert as well

Absolutely manic,nowhere near adequate parking. Almost 30 minutes to get a cheese burger & fries through the drive thru which was more like a crawl thru,although by the time we had got a parking place it would of been longer to go inside & order.

The ONLY Maccies after Swansea that is open 24 hours. BUT, roof was leaking in many places, whole sections were closed off. The place was dirty and not cleaned (well, it was 5 am, maybe cleaners start at 6 or 7)

Food was nice we had it in good time. But inside all the bins was full the floor was dangerous to walk on the toilets was very dirty and rubbish all over the place. In needs improving FAST!!! and this was after midnight and there was 5 staff working that we could see..

Just had my order from cross hands deluxe single burger meal a big Mac burger meal chicken nuggets and cheese bites it cost me just under £20.00 it was cold not well prepared and a total waste of money I live close by but so disgusting It went in the bin

Husband has food poisoning after eating a chicken wrap meal 16th April ‘24. Vomiting & Diarrhea within half hr of eating it. Day and night, he remains the same, three days later. Last food hygiene inspection 12th Oct ‘22 was 5* - Looks like it needs another. Previous 1 star post confirms. If I could have given a 0*, I would have. The hygiene in this place is appalling. Avoid!!

Staff always nice....... it's a McDonalds so everything else is the same.

Called with my family late one night. Food was medioca and chips were cold. All the bins inside the restaurant were full, tables had not been cleaned. I waited at the counter and to my disgust I noticed that there was a bun and lettuce leaves on the floor just behind the man that was preparing food ...using his bare hands to put cheese on the burgers then lettuce on another item of food....no gloves in sight. A young boy was mopping the floor using a dirty mop that was dragging dirt into dirt. The supervisor was a mature adult and I was shocked that he was unable to see that the hygiene standard on his shift was not acceptable. I won't be calling in cross hands again and I have since bypassed the store and travelled down to pontabraham for a Macdonald's where everything was in order and much cleaner.

The 24 hour is not fit for purpose. Order today and collect it next week. They were clearly unprepared last night (26th March) for the Wales Vs Poland game and the hungry punters on their way back from Cardiff. It seems they weren't following the order of orders coming through, and it was pot luck who's order would come up next. In the end, it seemed you would only get your order if you showed your receipt. I ended up waiting an hour for my order, I could have arrived home by that time. I will add though, the comedy between angry customers and the clearly untrained staff was great, all of us hungry punters really bonded over our equal impatience.

Fast food is what it is here, they are fast I'll give em that but that's it really. They don't mess it up that often in my experience but in general for McDonald's they're good here I think.

Burger was good, but the chips were not up to the usual standard. The toilets were very smelly and there was alot of urine under the urinal.

It’s a McDonald’s! The food was exactly what we were expecting, but it’s 3⭐️ because the entire floor was incredibly slippery! There was 1 small sign right in the corner. Others in my group nearly fell over several times.

Food was fresh and hot. Really great service from the staff, especially Megan who was great dealing great with our special requests.

To be honest if I could give none stars I would have rude staff who wouldn’t leave us in to get our food and you don’t even get half a potion of chips on a medium meal

I waited 15 minutes for a cold burger and luke-warm fries. This is typical of my experience at McDonalds in general, not just cross hands. Occasionally you will be served hot food but it's a total lottery. McDonalds themselves are not even bothered about quality of food, you can tell this by the fact that there is no feedback mechanism whatsoever. They are content to serve what they serve, the few people who can be bothered to complain will be served replacement food, and that's it. For some inconceivable reason my Son likes McDonalds, and that is the only reason I come here at all.

It's OK if you like proccessed meat, or if you don't that's your business, not mine. It's a Decent macyds clean and friendly.

Drive through was very good. Quick, hot and just right for a bite whilst travelling.

Local McDonald’s so stop here often but the service has gone downhill. The food itself is lovely but my partner and I are constantly being given the wrong food. He is autistic and cannot deal with any sauce in his burgers so we always ask for it without. The amount of times we’ve driven home (about 15 mins) and he’s bitten into the burger with sauce is too many to count. The last time it happened even the box had a sticker which said no sauce and there was still sauce inside. If he was allergic this would be a massive issue, could be said for the vegan/ veggie products too. Also little things like given medium instead of large when we paid for a large or paying for the 50p pots of sauce and getting to the last window and them saying they don’t have any left and not able to refund us. I’m not trying to come across as petty but it’s very frustrating as it seems to only be this certain restaurant causing issues for us, very disappointing.

Used drive through fast efficient service

I ordered 2 coffee's and a donut, which were served in reasonable time. The donut came in a bag. I drove to my destination, only to discover that I'd been given the wrong (cheaper) donut. It wasn't worth me driving back. Disappointed. I guess the lesson is always to check before you leave.

for a start i don’t think i’ve ever seen a smile in cross hands mcdonald’s. and what gets me the most is when you say triple cheeseburger 5 times they still manage to give me a single.

The kids love it. Personally I loathe it.
