The place was roomy and well organised. The staff were friendly and helpful. I was served good fish and chips as a takeaway. The portions were generous, and the bill was more than reasonable. No complaints. I recommend McClements.

My goodness, what a feast. The portions are enormous. Food was delicious and the young lad who served us was more than helpful. We will definitely be back again.

First time getting food here as moved to the area recently. Phoned the order through, asked for plenty of salt and vinegar and tartar sauce. Only one other person in queue, sit in looked almost full. Lots of staff. Place seems clean. Sit in food looked like big portions. Girl at till was not someone I would choose to greet customers, looked really unhappy to be there and not at all friendly. Paid for order and reminded re plenty of salt and vinegar. Waited quite a while (probably a good 20 mins from ordering on phone). The fish was ok, batter crispy, but not much flavour. Breast of chicken quite dry. No salt or vinegar on food and did not get tartar sauce, did not want to go back as had already parked ourselves by the sea. Chips not bad. I’d try it again to give another chance as there is nowhere else, but not in a hurry.

10p extra for red sauce on a burger, REALLY?

Absolutely delicious as always. They've moved to a larger premises beside the older one but still the same standard.

Despite being extremely busy, food was cooked fresh to order and was very enjoyable. Would not hesitate to return.

Who ever makes the batter for the fish and sausages clearly has not got a clue inedible very lucky there's no competition otherwise the shop would be empty seriously how difficult is it to make a decent batter children in nursery would make a better job so clearly will be avoiding this place like the plague

I tried this chippy on Monday this week mainly because Millisle’s options are limited.I ordered 1 chip and a sausage supper. When ordering there were about 6 people who had already ordered. It took 45mins for the order to come! In that time the owner arrived and sorted a friend out who ordered after me and when asked by a girl who was waiting just as long he said your number 4 in the queue. What does that mean? It has no time indicator whatsoever. I took a friend who is on an oxygen tank that only lasts about 1 hour. Luckily we brought a spare or I would have had to go with out my tea. What was meant to be a nice evening drive with chips and an ice cream by the sea for my friend who can’t get out much. Turned into a stressful night and no the food wasn’t really worth the wait.

The only reason this place is still open because they're isn't anywhere else for food in milise. Greesy the batter on the sausages are terrible For a battered sauce they cut the sausages???? I ordered a normal burger meal and got a chicken burger instead. Orders are never what you ordered, not friendly, made to feel awkward in the shop while trying to order food. Place is horrible wouldn't be back near it. Do yous actually taste your own food you serve to people???

Unfortunately the food has not been up-dated from my last review? still being burnt still greasy and the staff do not take pride in their service.

Called in for takeaway. Some people eating at tables, a few had pre-ordered. A lengthy enough wait. Asked if I wanted salt and vinegar and said yes, but didn't get any.

Tasty food , generous portions ,reasonably priced

This is a very popular chippy and you need to allow for this. Always busy at the weekend. The chips are well cooked and tasty.

Highly recommended chippy, really tasty food. I had the deluxe chicken burger special for £7.50, excellent value for what I got. Throughly enjoyed every bit, definitely be back.

The person that was frying today needs to learn how to fry, my wife & i got a fish supper my wife got chicken strips. The fish was burnt on one side and full of grease the chicken strips were also too well done. It seems to be a hit & miss if you get good food or not.

Food never fails to impress, but for the first time we decided to try the sit In... Dear me, never ever again, with a wait of just short of an hour, with zero communication from staff to apologise I was at boiling point, totally discuscced to be honest, as were other customers. It will make me question if I will return. I don't mind a wait knowing that the food is cooked fresh but an hour for 3 chippy meals is a bit much. Vast improvements needed with the ordering system, sticking receipts to the wall or to the side of the fridge in no particular order is very 1980's Please do better McClements.

Great wee chippy, offers sit in as well. Food is good, extra chips with everything and plenty of choice on the menu. Tasty fish suppers ,right beside the seaside, lovely. Located in the middle if main street.

Sometimes the food is brilliant but unfortunately it can be too grassy, my wife and I drive down either on a Friday evening or a Saturday evening from the Shankill road to get our supper. I think it depends on who's doing the frying. Yesterday our food was really grassy.

We went because reviews were mainly good, that was a mistake. It would appear that if you like your chips so mushy they actually squish between finger and thumb and fish batter that is soft, spongey and gooey then this the place for you but not us. Serious waste of money. Shall state the obvious by saying we will not be returning.

Get delivery from here about once a week. Love their food. Massive portions and the guy that takes the order, is so friendly and happy. Makes a big difference from other places where you're served with a scowl. Never had anything bad from them. And being able to pay over the phone is a bonus too. Nothing negative from my experience with them. Definitely recommend.

I know things are difficult right now.. thanks Rona . This was my first time at McClements. I ordered a fish and a gravy chip. I specifically said JUST SALT on the chips. .. You guessed it.. vinegar on the gravy chip and the huge fish portion was way overcooked. Didnt eat any of it. A waste of money and probably a customer who wont be eating from the shop again. It was not a good first impression.

Have eaten from here a few times. Last time 14/7/20 the fish was lovely but a lot off grease came out of it.

The burgers are absolutely delicious. We all had one and commented on how tasty they were. The chips were also very nice. One of the nicest chippies I ever been to. We'll be back.

Poor food, atmosphere wasn't great. Child was riding a scooter through the building. The building could do with a refurb. Won't be back.

The food was quite sub-par, and there was plates left at our booth from the previous customers, children were running amok, and the atmosphere was unsettling

Good food but forever getting your order wrong. If I order for the family there will always be something missing, sauce, kids drink or salt and vinegar etc pity because I like the food.

I take no delight in leaving adverse reviews but feel I have no choice now after my latest of horrendous visit on 13th July just past. As has become commonplace staff are trying to deal with both carry-out and sit-in at the same time and it does not work. There is no team co-ordination and no managerial direction to try and get it sorted. This eatery has gone downhill and continues to do so. After waiting what must have been thirty minutes and leaving with our food, and quite a substantial order it was, we parked up, admired the view and discovered disgusting reheated chips. There is NO excuse after waiting the time we did to get reheated and more than once by the look of it chips, disgusting and seagulls got majority. This is the last straw and I personally will never enter through the doors again and will be advising friends and family the same.
