Decided to take a punt on a local social enterprise. Calls itself a roaming restaurant that serves global cooking and boy does it deliver. I went on a Friday night and was served by Aditi who talked us through the cook and menu of the evening. A really relaxed vibe with great food. My sis and I went on a night serving brazilian food. Order the pao de queijo, I could eaten my body weight in this fantastic cheese bread made with cassava flour. Fantastic main of sweet potato in coconut milk. Sadly we ate so much I had no room for dessert. The great news is its extended its residency until December, so go check it out! I have also been reliably informed that in October there will be 241 on theatre tickets if you eat here. Great food and a night out, this is value for money and supporting a fantastic initiative.

First time ordering from this place. We ordered over Deliveroo and their service was quick and food was well packed. I had Doro, dulet, quanta firfir and kitfo. The dulet and kitfo were top! So delicious. The doro was also good! The only ones I didn’t enjoy as much as I wanted to was the quanta firfir (it had a bit watery/ soaked enjera fitfit taste and maybe needed more seasoning / berbere I think) it wasn’t my personal favourite and I don’t think I’d order it again. That’s not to take away from the rest and the generous portions. I’d recommend to try the rest, especially the kitfo and dulet! Edit: after ordering a few more times their food were almost always consistent so still deserves 5+ stars. I’d say whenever ordering tibs/ kitfo at any habesha / Ethiopian restaurant, they provide a dip-/ spice to dip your meat in and always ask them w my order when ordering online (I’ve done a few times/3+ times already) and it’s a hit and miss to get the dips. Would be nice if they always do as it’s common to have the meat w Ethiopian spicey/ chilli powder when having the tibs / kitfo.

I had high hopes for this Japanese restaurant but left thoroughly disappointed. I ordered the Danbury Bowl (£15), which was described as a special mix of pork, kimchi, and squid. Unfortunately, the dish was poorly executed: • The kimchi dominated the bowl but wasn’t spicy as expected – just overly vinegary. • The squid was rubbery and lacked any flavor. • There was barely any pork – just a few tiny pieces, which felt like an afterthought. • The plain rice was unseasoned, and mixing everything together didn’t improve the dish. To their credit, the gyoza and miso soup were good, but they couldn’t save the overall experience. Service was also subpar. The waiter struggled to communicate as they didn’t speak good English, making it hard to ask questions or make requests. Additionally, the staff was inattentive – I had to repeatedly flag someone down to take our order, clear the table, and bring the bill. To top it all off, I woke up the next day with a stomach ache and what I suspect was food poisoning.
