Mayflower Chinese takeaway in East Northamptonshire

I've only ever had deliveries from Mayflower. They are pricey than others, but overall, I've found them to be the best that delivers to me in Rushden. The food is flavoursome and tastes good, whereas I've seen others use lower-quality meat. They generally leave me feeling like the money could have been spent better elsewhere.

Forgot the rice and offered a refund or add it to the next order. Had to ask for Rice to be delivered so we didn’t just have a main and no rice, but they said 20 min wait which would mean food went cold

Had a takeaway from there tonight, didn’t take long to come at all and food was okay, the chicken in sweet and sour sauce wasn’t what I expected! Two empty plates

My partners meal he couldn't eat as the prawns were chewy and the spare ribs were fatty hardly any meat on them. We complained and all they said was meal was fresh and they'll give us free portion of ribs next time. There won't be next time

Just had a takeaway for the first time from here Absolutely awful never again! Ordered lemon chicken as one of the dishes, it was basically a piece of breaded chicken with lemon curd tipped over it 😡 🤢 The Singapore noodles were flavourless. Expensive rubbish food.

Ordered food for Christmas eve. All family waiting and the shop forgot the order then the staff just kept saying 10 minutes. Over an hour later no food so got a refund. Never returning here again.

I have had food off these guys for years. Tonight we ordered as usual and hour after eating children being sick find out the tango was 2 years out of date. They say we are lieing and won't refund me for food. Never again will we go here

Takeaway food from the mayflower is very good. The food is consistently good quality and never too greasy. Worth a try even though they’ve stopped the freebie extras they used to include

DO NOT ORDER HERE: After ordering £178 of Chinese for a baby shower party, we were greeted with wrong, cold, dry food. We ordered 3 portions of salt and chilli chips which came plain, lacked as salt and chilli. We called up to let them know of the issue and we’re greeted with the rudest staff who would rather argue that we were wrong than understand the truth, after a 20 minute argument nothing was settled. DO NOT GO HERE. Food is sub par and staff is rude and unhelpful.

Chilli salt ribs mostly fat, ordered a bottle of tango never received and never received refund either after calling, Chilli chips are just covered with spice mix not proper Chinese chilli salt chips

I haven't been to this Chinese takeaway for some time as they don't deliver but decided to try again , very nice quality food and friendly service but still don't offer delivery.

Absolutely bloody vile. Food wasn't cooked properly meat not cooked. Sauce like dirty dish water. Won't refund Stay clear of this place !!!

Overpriced no flavour ordered half crispy duck more fat than duck no flavour to it also ordered large chicken chop suey not a child's portion of bean sprouts very disappointed would not recommend

Food was bland and over priced for what it was chicken chow mein tasted of nothing and had maybe 5 pieces of chicken mostly beansprouts won’t be returning very disappointed

As nice as the food may be, be careful when ordering. Just eat is obviously very expensive and takes a lot of money off independent takeaways so I chose to order directly through their app. I placed my order and accepted the 50-60 min wait time however I then got a phone call stating that I hadn’t paid enough of a delivery fee and needed to pay the driver an additional £1 because the app charged me wrong. I have no issues in paying extra and I would have paid it on the app no quibble, but I’m sorry you should not call customers to pay extra because your app is incorrect. Unfortunately the food was also not as good on this delivery either, the chips were just not nice.

Ordered nearly 2 hours ago and still waiting for delivery......

I was excited to try a new Chinese takeaway as our usual was getting abit stale. I am a tricky one being a veggie and I appreciate effort, however I can also see when a restaurant has used a frozen bag of 'mixed vegetables'that are undercooked , random bits of Chinese lettuce over cooked. I had the vegetarian Singapore noodles its been over 10 years since I had any(hard to find veggie versio s) and was disappointed with an overly black peppered, peanut coated, oily yet bone dry noodles. The salt and spice chips were just salted chips and my partner was unimpressed with the soggy chicken balls. We shall try again on a different hopefully a different result but you have to give places a chance.

Food wasn't very good lady that delivered was smoking in her car not exceptable when delivering food wouldn't recommend or use again

Best Chinese in the area! Honestly wouldn't bother going elsewhere, and we travel from Rushden for collection regularly.

Really tasty food, can be a little long on deliveries but of course you could collect yourself and must be hard to plan as they dont' know how many people will order. Have used a while now and always pleased.

Waited longer than we should've, appreciate it's a busy night, but oh god...not good. Everyone else's in the house was fine, mine appeared to have had about a ton of salt added to it..just a tad disappointed.

My first meal with Mayflower I have to say it was delicious! The service was good and fast delivery. Looking forward to order again soon.

We had a great meal on New Year's Eve. The King Du spare ribs were the best I have ever had and the remaining sauce was delicious added to the rest of my meal.

Preorder at 4;30 called at delivery time and said sorry running 1:30 late. No thanks!

Food is always great from here we’ve never had an issue with the food and the customer service is amazing if the food is going to be delayed a lovely lady always calls to make sure this is ok with you and give you a time frame. We wouldn’t ever use any other Chinese. Thank you.

Very poor service, very expensive for what you get and food arrives late! There are better restaurants to order from in this area.

Delivery requested for 7.30pm, order arrived at 6pm. Called to discuss and advised that it’s only a bit early and to just keep warm. Lady we dealt with was very difficult to talk to as she didn’t speak good English, but she’s ok when taking an order and our card details. It’s a shame because the food is very good generally, but tonight’s was also cold.

Absolutely amazing service, seems expensive but really for what you received it is actually very reasonably priced. I have always ordered online but nine times out of ten I will receive a courtesy phone call to let me know exactly how long it will be. In some cases my food has arrived within 30 minutes of ordering and I live in a whole different town.......... Frankly s*** hot 👍👍👍👍👍

Swopped to the Mayflower from the Golden harvest, as there was always a long wait time Food is really good, service and staff excellent Only warning is they only take cash not cards Would recommend 👍

Overpriced, very long wait well over an hour! Cold too salty or didnt have any taste hard chicken and chewy beef.. this is the second time of ordering will not be going back.

I ordered shrimp chop suey and squid in Black pepper sauce among other things, but this two in particular were horrendous. Basically the Chop suey was a plastic box full of soya bean sprouts submerged in a white tasteless liquid, with about 12 to 13 shrimps of the size of a 1p coin that seemed to be the ones that come frozen in Iceland, for that I paid 6 pounds. But that is not everything. The squid in black pepper sauce was chopped onions and pepper in black bean sauce and... oh, yeah, about 9 small and ridiculous pieces of squid hidden in between the ONION AND PEPPERS, so small that I had to really look for them, for that I paid 7 pounds. I called them to express my disappointment but they did not seem to care much. Definitely not ordering from this place ever, and I will make sure everyone I know knows so they save themselves from throwing their money away.

Wow, this was awful! The food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive after order. Awful rude staff which blamed us and said it was our fault they were late?? Also the food was terrible, cold, chewy, and we are now not feeling well from the food either. I very much doubt this was cooked properly, or maybe it was the fact the food must have been Luke warm for an hour and a half!! DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE!

Ive made a telephone order 2 days ago and the price of my order was no more than £15. I went to check my account now ad £28.20 has been taken from my account. I want an explanation from the thiefs. Dont order from them - thiefts !

Only does take away now, but worth trying, the service we receive is second to none with friendly staff and food that is excellent. We will not use any other..

Been using this Chinese for 20 yrs as I love the food so much, ordered twice recently and I'm not happy as the food dosnt seem as tasty. Chow main didn't taste of anything other than greese. Sorry mayflower but not sure what's going on:(

I've been eating food from the mayflower for years but recently I went to order a take out and noticed the prices on everything had gone up between £1&£1.50 that's a massive hike.. How can those prices be justified.. I now after many many years using the mayflower will use another Chinese that's not so over priced.. What a shame

WORSE PLACE TO EAT. They have no care at all. FOOD WAS ICE COLD I TOLD THEM ABOUT IT!!!they took it to the kitchen 20mins later they gave me the same food Colder than before. DISGUSTING. THEY NEED GORDON RAMSEY SO BAD. Because you will never tell how NASTY THE FOOD IS UNTILL THEY PUT THAT POOP IN YA FACE. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Ate from there an hour ago and now I have the runs coincidence I think not food was so dry like it had been reheated

Awful food, long wait for delivery, the food was dry and ice cold, the portions was tiny. Spent £33 on a take away and there barely no food and the food that was there was awful. All the sauces had dried out. Called up to tell them and the women was unhelpful, wanted pictures sent and was really rude. Won't be ordering from there again. My advice would be to.avoid like the plague!!!!

Had a delivery last night. Chips were rock hard and quite a lot of them black as in old. Curry sauce wasn't very nice and beef was veiny (chewy). Daughter a day partner did not ear their meals so in the bin. Very disappointed :(. Wont be ordering get again.

Just the best around. We live on shakespear rd in rushden and we pay the delivery fee it's totally worth it. Beautiful food

Food was good, but we were the only customers in there and the staff were a little too attentive. It felt like we weren't being left alone.

Not much ! The dishes had very little meat in, the fried rice and duck pancakes were so dry my mother choked on it! And even the vegetable chow mein had two pieces of broccoli ! Poor food. Wish I had ordered from the other two I normally do in Irthlingborough
