First time customer, and honestly, impressions were good. The staff are friendly, the food was professionally prepared, and their £4.50 small fish and chips are delicious, and a bargain. Highly recommended!

First time visit under new owners .Fish batter was very dark brown not a golden colour as you would expect chips were a very similar colour maybe the oil needs changing I don't know safe to say really disappointed and won't be returning sorry

Gutted been a few times and it’s been amazing. Been today and never felt so awkward ordering some food. Got home with it and what a pathetic portion of chips my son’s kids meal was bigger last week. Hoping it’s a one off tbf 😣 gutted Edited to 1 star I moved the sausage and it was just gravy under can’t believe it there’s about 15 chips mixed in the gravy.

Waited 20minutes for some chips for them to have been cooked in the same oil they cook the fish I don't like fish and shouldn't expect my chips to taist like fish absolutely disgusting waist of my money would be nice for there to be a sign to let people no u do this

Came within the opening hours stated here and on the website but they're closed.

So I’d won a £25 voucher on a raffle iv been to collect my chippy today we had 4 cans of pop , chicken curry with chips , fish chips peas and gravey , burger and chips and chicken nuggets and chips with gravey and a fritter the food was amazing really tasty and still hot by the time we got home , the chippy is lovely and clean and the owner was so friendly with myself and kids I will 100 percent go again thank you so much for a yummy tea 😁

Made a vist today during an away day to Watch the football such a great little chip shop before the game. I just has the chips and gravy absolutely spot on perfect gravy to chip ratio banging. Black pudding fritter was spot on with a great potato fritter also I would highly recommend the lobby(Stoke stew) the meat was perfectly tender. Excellent service from the staff also 💙💙

This place is fantastic , highlight of a really poor away day watching Port Vale Vs Bristol Rovers. The lady behind the counter was so welcoming and the food was fantastic, we had chips and Gravy , black pudding fritter , she even gave us a sample of the Lobby (stew for us southerns) which was 👌🏻👌🏻 Hope port vale stay up as want to come back next season Thanks again 👍

Worst Chippy I've used, fish was near as black and rock solid, chips were nearly all burned, wanted it to be good as last owners food was great, but this was terrible the picture does it alot of favors

Kelly is getting this place spot on! I just had her Chilli con carne and chips and it is bloody lovely. Not spicy for those who are scared of spice just a plain lovely chilli. I pepped mine up a little when I got home as my preference is a little more spice! Kelly is doing a wonderful job.

The food was ok but the fish was a bit greasy but tasty. Long wait would recommend calling your order in. Staff very friendly.

Absolutely by far the best fish chips peas and gravy that I've had in a long time and when you choose to spend your money on a take out and you receive the quality that we did tonight I thought you should know and your customer service was top notch too. The queue was outside the shop not seen that in a while well done guys

Prices are a bit steep Vs their portions. I know they're say prices are going up but captain cooks is cheaper and portions are miles larger

The staff here were wonderful and the food was amazing! Myself and my son visited at the weekend and I was impressed by the special options, mini cod and chips for just £4 but the cod was not at all mini, it was more than enough. My son's fishcake looked amazing and he devoured it. We also had peas (which weren't the colour of radio active waste, I was very happy) and gravy which were both amazing. I would highly recommend it and I will be returning!

Nice food, but i do think its a little expensive, such as large chips £3.30.. Large chips are normally £2.60 they also need to be cooked a little longer Lower prices a little too Then 10/10

great chippy very friendly,I always order before and I pick up great value for money,the fish are lovely,I had braising steak only the once and I was abit disappointed,as I had lots chips and very lickle braising steak,so I opened a tin of stewed steak,but it was great value for money,as steak is expensive,I love this chippy🙂

After hearing there was new owners we decided to give it another try what a disappointment. The chips were cold and tasted like they were cooked at 1 and served at 6 let's just say we wont be coming back Sorry

After many years and living around the area I went into May Street Chippy, OMG so many memories.... Met the new owners Sue & Dave and with this placed our order, food was brilliant and chips were great.... So highly recommended going in and we will be going in again now as well.

Great chippy although it has gone a bit pricey. Cost me £9 for chips, sausage n gravy and a small fish in breadcrumbs. But again it is a great chippy.

Can't fault the food we've had from here. Chips are the nicest in the area imo. Shame we found it just before moving otherwise we'd have been here a lot more often!

Only started using this chippy again after years as the food went a little down bank after Tom and his wife sold up but I tried it the other week and the food was quite nice I ordered a large fish which was cooked fresh only downside was it was never rested and when got home paper was soaking with oil but tasted nice Also it's good to find a chippy that uses potatoes and not frozen food
