Maud's ice cream is delicious, however they have no menu outside so you need to go in to look at the flavours. My daughter is autistic and takes a while to make decisions, however despite wearing her sunflower lanyard there was no recognition of this, and she felt pressured to make a decision which left her (and me) feeling anxious. At the very least a smile would have eased the experience.

Evidently neither of the girls serving wanted to be there. Poor manners. No interaction. They did not say thank you or please, or even engage with children.

Enjoyed a tasty ice cream from Maud, however the customer service was less impressive as the staff were rushed and unhelpful. It felt like we were a nuisance and was verging on rude. Once we got over that experience, was a very pleasant ice cream, but won’t be rushing back

I love Mauds ice cream, I frequent the one in Newcastle and it has excellent customer service, the one in Bangor is pretty terrible, I was here yesterday with my husband and two nieces, 3 young girls serving behind the counter and generally was made to feel as if we were an inconvenience to serve, had to ask 3 times for toppings on one of my nieces ice creams and when I did pay I realised they didn't give the toppings on my own ice cream that I requested, since I had already paid I didn't what to make an issue, I will not return here, I will stick to the one in Newcastle who clearly value their customers and who know what good customer service is.

Every time I am near Mauds I have to have a large cone, and large they are. I used to live in Devon, SW England where they have a reputation for the best Clotted Cream Ice cream in UK. They haven't experienced Mauds.

Small tub had a good bit of ice cream in it and so was fair value for money. The blonde girl serving me was edficient and had manners but was not overly friendly. I've cream was great and has changed for the better since the last time I was in. I still definitely prefer Nugelato just across the road though!!

There is no doubt in my mind that the best ice cream by far is Maud’s - that’s an opinion shared by my three small grandchildren - and my wife. So we all joined the queue of ice cream aficionados to be served by excellent and friendly young staff. And we weren’t disappointed !!

the ice cream in all mauds outlets is to die for, great choice of different flavours, all staff very friendly and helpful,we thought £1.40 for the smallest cone little to much for a child, especially when you have 4.

We visited Nugelato across the street on a sunny day as a family last week and as we always do when ordering ice-cream we explained that our 5 year-old has a nut allergy only to be told by quite an abrupt young girl “sorry we don’t cater for that, everything we sell has nuts” obviously we all left immediately (and won’t be back) We walked across the road to the newly refurbished Mauds and without even mentioning what happened in Nugelato we again politely explained our daughters allergy, the very friendly young lady in there immediately summonsed a senior member of staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Took all the equipment away and washed it, scooped ice cream from a part of the tub that had been untouched and even opened a new and obviously separate bag of toppings to avoid any cross contamination with nuts! That’s how it should be done, I’ve been recommending Mauds to everyone since! The Ice cream itself was (and always has been) so fresh and tasty! Sorry for trying somewhere else, I’ll know in future to stick with what you know and love!

The ice-cream here is lovely - the honeycomb is a best seller (my wife loves it) and there are loads of other great flavours with every kind of topping you can think of! Money-wise it's a bargain! A medium tub is £2.70 which is three scoops of any flavour or multiple flavours of ice-cream. Bargain! The only downside is the size of the shop, it's tiny and queues do get quite long but that's a small price to pay for this great treat.

Love Mauds icecream and my wife and i would frequently pay a visit there when we are out walking. The place is small so queues do occur regularly but move pretty quickly the only negative thing i would say is my wife bought a litre tub of poo bear the other week and i think £5.99 is a bit steep but ooh what we are willing to pay for our luxuries.

Well positioned in Bangor to catch the foot fall. Serves great ice cream and hard to pass on a warm day. Not a lot of room so queues occur.

I can't resist calling in to Mauds whenever I am in Bangor. The ice cream is great and reasonably priced. It can be vrery busy in summer with queues out on the street on some days.Staff are mostly pleasant but some can seem a little grumpy, and sometimes it is closed when it is supposed to be open. That said, I will be back.

Delicious ice cream, very reasonably priced. You would pay double the price anywhere else for ice cream that is no where nearly as decent as Mauds. A big thumbs up from the kids, the grandparents and the parents.

As other people have said, the ice-cream is gorgeous (a given with Maud's). I read this review when trying to find out opening hours and read that they were unpredictable. Sure enough, we left in time to get there before closing and the shutters were going down 15 minutes early! Really annoying and not the first time for us either

Maud's is a great quality ice cream and very handy location. Would be nicer if there was more space to eat in, as can be very busy especially in the nice weather.

Good service, however had noticed opening times can be different to those advertised. Prefer shop in Donaghadee as service is a lot better.

Living in Bangor have been to mauds in high street many times. Cannot fault their Ice cream but the service from this particular store is unreliable. The staff level of service can be hit or miss, some are very nice others make you feel like an Inconvenience. I am all for the younger generation getting experience in the working environment but on various occasions we have witnessed young staff members standing talking to their friends while customers wait, which is totally unprofessional. The amount of ice cream you receive from the staff for a specific size can also vary quite significantly. I can put up with most of that but what I can't deal with is the unreliable opening hours. Although it advertises opening to 8pm, there have been many times when it closes long before this. Even if you phone to ask when they are closing they often can't give a solid time so obviously just close when they feel like it or if not busy. Hopefully the owner is unaware that some of the staff close early because if this is how they choose to run a business then it's unacceptable. The staff in the donaghadee shop are much better and they stick to their opening times and from now on will most likely be making the extra 10 minute journey to support a shop that considers customer service.

I visited Maud's on high street this afternoon and yet again observed staff members wearing no gloves and handling cash and cones. I have also visited other ice cream shops in bangor and they wear gloves. Are your staff supposed to wear gloves? If so why aren't they? If they are not obliged to wear gloves - why not?

Ice cream is my favourite food and mauds is the best, especially the honeycomb. Take it to England. It's as good as but cheaper than premium ice cream

Each time I visit Maud's in bangor high st. I observe that each staff member do not wear gloves while handling cones and flakes. Or they do not wash their hands after handling money. Needless to say I get a tub each time.

Food very very average for an Indian . Better to go any Indian restaurant in India with a trip advisor rating of 2 !! Correlating !! It will be the best .i guess it’s best suited to the palette for the localities and not for Indian tourists . So let’s get that right. You will see a differentiation from the time you give the order to getting the table to getting billing on time - unfortunately Tourists from India will be treated differently bkz it’s business and one has to look at it who is the cash cow ? Tourist or the localities !! So I guess it’s the right thing to do !! Cheers !!! There are a few other restaurants in the area which are really really good !! Pls look up for my reviews !!

Went here as the cafe has a lovely setting but it is let down badly as it is extremely overpriced. One of us had soup and half a sandwich - small bowl of soup which tasted just OK and a sandwich which has to be the smallest I have ever seen with very little filling! Total rip off for the price. There is also no choice for gluten free customers. Such a pity as the cafe is pleasant to sit in.

called in for a bite to eat 100per cent 1st class grub and very cheap prices will be back everytime we call to bangor.
