Maud's Ice Cream Parlour in Antrim

I love maud’s icecream. Same excellent quality here in templepatrick but unfortunately I was given half the portion size that I normally get at other Maud’s outlets. One word - Mean

It's Mauds Ice Cream. No words necessary. Covid safe and all catered for. Poor Bear and Choccy bear are still top of the list, though Rocky Road is catching up

Terrible service! We ordered almost £30 worth of ice cream and sweets only to be told they only take cash! Why would a business not take cash A- especially in COVID times! The member of staff was extremely rude and dismissive. Bank machine opposite wasn’t working. Won’t go back.

Having called into this particular Mauds I was greeted by one of the rudest staff members I have ever encountered. I waited patiently outside the store for a large party of 7 to be served. This took quite some time as they were deep in conversation with the member of staff so I called into the shop next door to let the queue settle. When I went back to Mauds there was one lady in the store with a small child and when I walked in I was immediately and aggressively told to wait outside because the store was at capacity. Having asked how this was possible as no more than 5mins before there were 7 customers in the store I was then called a liar. I disagreed with this statement immediately and reminded the member of staff that their CCTV would indicate who the liar was. Never in my life have I ever experienced customer service like this and I am truly shocked that the company would deem this acceptable. I wont return to this store and I would advise others to think twice before visiting.

Hard to beat the ice cream. Long queues, orderly though. . Not very pleasant to sit in for coffee. Winter time could be better for the queues. Stop off here if you are passing through Carrickfergus.

We visit mauds on countless occasions. I rang to check what time they closed and was told 6pm on the phone. Arrived at 5.45 and the door was locked lights were mainly off and eventually they opened up, and I went in to get the family our usual icecreams. There were no ice cream out as it was all away and all she offered me was a 1ltr tub of bel choc which I didn't want clearly. Very rude member of staff with very poor customer service and not the first time I've experienced rudeness. The fact we phoned to check before we got there was even more annoying as got the children in the car for ice cream for nothing. I have been going here for years but the service is appalling and we won't be going back again. Such a shame for a great place.Also the fact they don't take card all cash!

Best ice cream ever! Also the sweets are amazing to! Belgium chocolate is my favourite along with mint choc chip.

Called in for coffee and cake: both were good. A great range of home cooked cakes and friendly service. Good for all the family. They also have an amazing range of ice creams (I think they produce them on site).

Lovely ice-cream, lovely staff, lovely decor and great extended opening times. Not too good for the waist line though!

Whether it's just an ice cream or a coffee and cake or a tray bake. This is an excellent place to come to. It also has the old fashioned jars of all our favourite sweets. Vintage chic but a little dark inside.

Needs to move into 21 st century as they do not have card facilities. Only cash which means after ordering you have to go out to find a card machine to get cash. They should put a sign on the door to tell people it is cash only

This shop gives the smallest scoops of ice cream ever in the tubs! Better value to take a cone. The cakes look very good although unsure if they serve tea or coffee.

Our first visit to Maud's and it won't be our last. Of course it is the home of the famous Pooh Bear Ice cream, a total must for any visitor as well as providing a cosy surrounding for a cup of tea and maybe a sneaky cake! We also managed to purchase a huge supply of Irish sweets to take home with us. The place is quirky, friendly and really lovely

We stopped for a Mauds ice cream after 30ish years without one. We had amazing ice cream in Italy in the summer and outside today it is 13 degrees. The ice cream is good, the venue quirky and place that I could consume a huge amount of calories in what with the sweet jars, ice creams. It's good, not very welcoming but that might be a factor of the weather. Would we come again? We like Mauds ice cream so will eat more Mauds ice cream.

Staff excellent. Decor different. Nice for tea or coffee as well as ice cream. Nice place for a treat for my grand children. Or to chat with friends.

Called in with friends for a quick ice cream

Aunque el lugar tiene una decoración agradable y acogedora su servicio al cliente aparece en una grave necesidad de reformas profundas... Conocí a uno de los más groseros camareras que he tenido la desgracia de toparse con su arrogancia y completa falta de visión de su puesto de trabajo era impresionante... Soy un residente local a esta zona y con frecuencia este lugar en ocasiones, sin embargo, nunca volveremos de nuevo a este lugar... Y le recomiendo a mis vecinos y compañeros de trabajo local para abandonar utilizando este café... También me gustaría animarle a su director para considerar esta queja y garantizar que reciban alguna forma de capacitación de servicio público" o posiblemente el desempleo... Visited today with children. Great little shop, just had worst service ever from someone who just doesn't really care about customer service. This regular customer won't be back ever!

Love Maud's Ice Cream,quality product. Although small, it has a lovely friendly atmosphere and if the sun is around it will be very busy!

We live near by so we visit quite often, the ice cream is always delcious! A cute wee shop, with a lovely atmosphere, can be very busy at certain times, especially near the end of a school day, so around 2-3, it's not a huge shop so if you want a seat inside I reccommend an earlier visit :)

Came for something sweet after visiting bamboo upstairs. This place is cute , homely and cosy. Very quaintly decorated. Nice atmosphere!

I was recommended to come here and it was well worth the trip. They serve huge portions of cake, icecream (cones, tubs, or with the cake) and sweets from jars. There is a flat screen TV showing Disney movies, and the whole place is decorated to be a veritable wonderland!I had ginger cake, with salted caramel icecream on the side and a hot chocolate. It was all delicious, but I was actually beaten by it. For the first time ever I was beaten by cake! I'd suggest sharing!It is very popular with families and can get busy with the after school crowd, so I'd suggest a different time to visit if you'd like to linger.Alison, the owner, is great fun if you get a chance to chat - thanks Alison for my tall, dark, hunky lunchtime companion! (He is sitting in the corner and is rather a 'strong but silent' type ;-D )

Loved visiting this Maud's which has the biggest gorilla and wall of topping treats that I've ever seen. Restaurant decorations are worth the visit, but the ice cream is the real treat. When we are in Northern Ireland, we must treat ourselves to Maud's. Poor Best is hands down the best flavor.

What a fantastic place for coffee and cake, the desserts are Fab and Alison always brings a smile to our faces regardless of how bad the golf has been. Well worth a visit.

Was out for a cycle yesterday with my daughter and husband and as we were locking up the bikes looking to grab a coffee somewhere the owner spied us and opened up though she wasn't due to open for a good 20 mins or so. So very friendly, inviting and welcoming a rarity these days! Inside is just delightful and transported me back to my childhood with all the sweeties available. The design is so quirky and clearly a lot of thought and effort has gone in to making this a special place.We had coffee, hot chocolate and cakes and oh my goodness they were delightful and plentiful, had to cycle the long way home to work it off!!This is a little gem of a place and we will certainly be back.Thank you for the kind hospitality.

Loved this place! My son and I were staying in Templepatrick and found this wee gem of a place completely by accident, so glad we did. The icecream, cake and coffee are the best I've ever tasted. The shop itself is beautifully decorated, no point in trying to describe it as it wouldn't do it justice... You just have to visit to see for yourself. And the service is just amazing, Alison you are a star. We we will definitely be back and will recommend to all my friends and family

We went here for the first time 2 weeks ago and we'll certainly be back. It's quaint, ornate, quirky, friendly and inviting. It would benefit grestly from larger premises but they've made the most of the space available. It was extremely busy the lovely hot day we went which must be testament to it's great products. My hubby and child had ice cream and I had an americano (best I've ever tasted and I'm a coffee addict lol) and a slice of chocolate cake. They loved their ice cream but the cake was way too sweet for me. Cost around £10 but sure it was a little treat. The ladies serving were lovely and very attentive. Not much room for wheelchair users or those with prams but I'm sure the staff will move things around to accommodate more than one customer using either.

Called in with my hubby for ice-cream on Sunday. Had a 3 scoop tub - very tasty ice cream and great value for money. Unfortunately the server was extremely rude to me (without reason or provocation) and had a major attitude problem when I dared to ask for info that was already displayed on the board (I had no glasses with me and had trouble reading the board). This spoiled the experience for me a little bit which was a pity as the ice-cream was delicious (I had Pooh Bear and some sort of peanut chocolate creation which was lovely).

Sublime, a hug in a mug, today Alison the ever friendly manager served up a volcanic eruption of hot chocolate and a slab(no measly slices here) of homemade chocolate cake and Mauds pooh bear Icecream, truly the best in Ireland and I have eaten cake everywhere trust me, if you want to escape for an hour into a magical, quaint, Alice in wonderland experience this is for you, if you need somewhere to entertain your kids while you relax,then this is it, kids where watching a disney movie on the mini cinema screen while gorging 'pokes' with fairy dust or jungle juice on them, defo best coffee shop I've been in its a must, if you are going to airport stop in onroute or on way home

Took my wee daughter for ice cream after school. What is it with ice cream and kids,they get it everywhere,gave me an excuse to eat some and it was superb locally produced ice cream,yummy.

Definately worth a visit for very friendly service and lovely tasty goodies, great for giving yourself and the children a fabulous treat.

If passing through Templepatrick you must pay it a visit. Fantastic variety of fabulous icecreams, homemade cakes and delicious treats, sit in or take out. The staff especially Alison are amazing.

Having decided to go for a late afternoon cycle we had to think where could we stop for coffee so late on. Everywhere tends to close by 3 or 4 pm but not Maud's in Templepatrick! What a cosy little nook! I could have sat all evening enjoying my coffee and scone, even serving homemade scones so late on was a welcome treat topped with jam and cream, what more could a cyclist ask for on a cold March day.

We don't live very close to this place, but every time we have a day off or just feeling in the mood for an ice cream and some sweets we drive down and it never disappoints. We are two adults but still every time we go here we turn into kids. When we arrived we asked for a banana split and a sundae and one of the lovely members of staff ran over to get fresh bananas for the ice cream and it looked absolutely amazing (see photo). But it's just the general atmosphere of the place with the kids behaving the disney movies on and he attention to detail.Never mind the place looking like disneyland. It's a little gem and is quite close to a park, so make the day of it. It never disappoints.

One of my favourite places to go, after years of going here as a couple my husband and I now share the experience with our kids. Its unique quirkiness makes going for ice-cream a real adventure for kids and adults alike. The ever changing decor is wonderfully thought out and sets an amazing atmosphere that would put Willy Wonka to shame. As well as lots of ice-cream there's a huge array of good old fashion sweets and scrumptious homemade cakes that you can't help but drool over. All this combined with extremely friendly patient staff makes for a wonderful experience, it really is ice-cream with a difference.

Just love this oasis in a mad world once you've entered your transported to a mystical place a mixture of quaint old time sweet shop and delicious parlour of scrumptious homemade cakes and buns my hot chocolate came fluffed up with a mountain of cream and a pot of mini marshmallows topped with a flake that I had to sup with a long spoon to get to it and while relaxing and sighing with delight at my huge wedge of chocolate orange cake and Mauds pooh bear Icecream your entertained by the lovely Alison and her staff of friendly smiley girls who can't do enough for you this place is for the young and young at heart just don't go if ur on a diet you will never be able to refuse the delights

Just Found the most amazing little place in Templepatrick and what a treasure trove of incredible edibles! Was really spoilt for choice with their range of delicious home made cakes and speciality coffees. The decor is like fairyland and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. Service with a smile! Top marks to Allison the manager and her friendly staff. Will definitely be visiting this place again.

The most special 'willy wonka' fantasy ice cream shop there is!!!!I live quite far away, and this is one of our 'special' treats during school hols. Kids get soooooo excited at this treat. It's an aladdins cave of magic, decorated from ceiling to floor with the most amazing, imaginative displays for children to wonder at. Theres a wall of old fashioned sweets, the kids love to choose and weigh them!The buns, cakes and coffee r to die for!And what makes this place very special is Alison. We have been visiting now for 6 years, and she knows my little boys name. He refers to it as Alison's sweet shop, and loves to take friends.Cannot recommend highly enough!!

Such a lovely wee cafe, the inside is really cutely decorated. The waffles and ice cream are awesome, such a great portion size, great value. The staff are so lovely and friendly- giving us our second tea on the house was really nice. It's the perfect place to meet with friends for a natter over some lovely ice cream and treats. It's also a great place to take the kids for some ice cream, they definitely won't be disappointed.

Lovely, friendly staff offering a great service! My friend and I were in recently and got hot waffles with ice cream and tea- ordered another tea since we were there for a while and the lady gave it to us for free! :) Good value, big size portions, cute decorations, lots of parking spaces- just a lovely place to be in :)

The Parlour is without a doubt the best ice-cream parlour around - and nothing like your average ice cream & coffee shop. It is simply like being in another world - from the old fashioned sweeties, the ice-cream, the classic Disney movies always on play, to the unbelievable attention to detail in the decor, this shop is simply enchanting. Easter, Valentines, Halloween, Christmas - the displays are out of this world.The service is excellent, and the staff are remarkable - I'm there that often I know them by name - Amanda, Emma, Anne and Megan are all stars, but Alison who runs this place, and is the one responsible for creating this magical little land makes the place what it is. She knows all the children by name, and goes out of her way every time. The coffee is lovely, and the home-baked cakes and buns are delish - peanut butter tartlets are a must try!! I think adults enjoy this place as much as the children do. Definitely once place everybody should try out..

Amazing little cafe/ice cream parlour/old time sweet shop all in one! Enter and you'll be served by friendly staff managed by Alison who has the patience of a saint when serving children ice cream and toppings of every kind! She keeps the place so bright and cheerful and is so imaginative and creative changing the decor with every season. A real treat for the kids after a hard day at school or a catch up with a friend, you can enjoy delicious homemade cakes and tray bakes with fresh tea or coffee while the kids can have a famous Maud's ice cream, a hot chocolate with fresh cream and mini marshmallows or pick something from the colourful carousel. Of course you can't leave without treating yourself to a quarter of sweets to remind you of your childhood days! Easily the best Maud's Ice Cream Parlour I've come across. It has become a firm favourite while out for a cycle, a coffee stop we always look forward to. Call in and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
