Cracking little country local with good beer and friendly staff. Good little place to drop into if you’re cycling in Northumberland and want a nice pint in the sun.

Quaint little pub in this beautiful Northumberland village. Friendly staff and a good selection of drinks to be had at reasonable prices. It was quiet when we were there, but based on what I saw, it is evident that it has a warm and friendly atmosphere at busier times with local clientele.

A nice local country pub, two average size rooms so not a huge place but worth a visit if you're passing and fancy a quiet drink. Tables outside if the weather's fair, a good village pub that's suitable for anyone.

Strange smell from area from where i sat. Had my suspicions then they were proved right. Two dogs came in,on a miserably wet day and proceeded to go on walk about. I can understand in certain areas, but where people would be contemplating food. Strange. Staff were freindly enough tho. Probably why the dogs seemed at home.

Me and my wife called for lunch on Saturday 23 August. Fantastic staff, 2 girls doing a fab job. We ordered the steak pie which was absolutely delicious as we're the homemade chips. We will definitely be calling back.

Been here twice with group of cyclists (as lockdown has eased). Booked ahead to let the landlord know we'd be coming. He had bacon sandwiches and pots of coffee waiting, refills a plenty. Can't do enough for you, genuinely happy to see us and sort us out. Can't praise the place enough.

A friendly country pub serving locally produced beers and soft drinks, and serving great food , but note, food is not available every day. Sunday lunch is excellent. Very much a part of the local community, leading and contributing to community events. It also has a library of books and some games available. It also hosts a number of special events, including the local Leek Show. There aren't many of these country pubs left, it deserves to be supported.

We've just been to the Greggs at Marygate and we were served by the most lovely, welcoming and experienced staff ever, Anne went far and beyond what could ever have anticipated and we will certainly be back again and again. Cheers for great time at Greggs ❤️

Recently taken over after 25yrs, really disappointing, mediocre food and service. This place used to be rammed for lunch yet today was only missing the tumbleweed, waitress miserable, food v average, lukewarm and worst gravy ever, all veg on the plate, never asked once was the food ok, never came and asked us if we wanted more drinks or dessert. I’ve worked in catering and know how hard a good lunch service can be but with only two in the whole place they couldn’t have cared less….bring back hot plates, steaming bowls of veg and good beef gravy 😢

Best Indian meal ever We both had starters and mains Unfortunately my starter was not very good They were so apologetic and removed it from the bill Excellent customer service The other 3 meals were the best we have had Will definitely go back and would recommend it A sign of how good it is , is that it was fully booked at 6.30pm
