Masterfryer in Crawley

Quite possibly the worse chip shop that I've ever been too. Even the basic thing, the chips, they can't get right. The fish is cold on the inside, the sausages are tough, and the chips are soggy. And it seems dirty inside. It's a shame, because there's a lot of people that would love to use a local good chip shop, so maybe they should just sell up, retire, and let someone really turn it into something great.

Appalling - batter rock hard, fish v dry and small in comparison to the thick hard batter surrounding it. For the price you pay shocking.

This place has become my go to for fish and chips in Crawley. Coming from a seaside town with an abundance of chippies I can say this definitely compares to some of the best.

I've only ever been in two or three times, all as forgettable as the last. The last time was their crowning glory, they managed to burn the inside of a chicken and mushroom pie and left the outside looking quite appetizing. Chips are always stale, and the fish is dry. The batter is either overcooked and bitter or soggy.

Expensive compared to other fish and chips shops in Crawley and not always that nice. Twice I’ve had ‘off’ fish that tasted of disgusting ammonia and have lost count of how many times I’ve been charged for a large chips and got them home only to find the portion would only feed a small child. I live just round the corner but travel to get mine from west green - 😋 delicious

Popped in for a Battered Sausage and Chips for myself as haven’t been in this shop for a while. Wish I hadn’t bothered as the chips were awful! They tasted stale and soft and not fresh like I would of expected. Will not bother going there again.

I cannot say anything nice at all about the chips; they were frankly horrible and clearly had been reheated several times over. Sausage and pie passable. Staff pleasant enough but chips absolutely horrible.

Very disappointed by the chips this afternoon. We'd deliberately pre-ordered online to ensure the food was freshly made, but it was quite clear, once I opened the chips at home, that they were old and stale, probably the worst I can recall eating. I suspect the girl who served me knew that they were 'off' or substandard - she had an knowing look about her, and a rather hasty delivery, which I only understood when I reflected on it later, as if to say "I know these are yesterday's stale chips, but I don't really care and I don't think you'll notice or be prepared to complain. Sucker!" Their Blurb say's "the old ways"... all I can say is bring on the Future! Avoid like the plague.

Good service, fresh food, served in a super timely manner. We placed a large order and as it was my first time here, I was a little slow ordering as I didn’t know what I wanted. They were super helpful and very accommodating. Good for people with allergies!

EXCELLENT fish'n'chips, always! Mon 5 Feb 2018, 1230, x1 My 'local' for fish'n'chips, best around... I always phone ahead, to pre-order skinless haddock - defo worth the wait!!! (much tastier than cod)

I live in Gossops Green, but lways drive to Ifield "Master Fryer" (Ray) for my fish'n'chips... I always pre-order (by phone) as I prefer skinless haddock (much tastier than cod!), so it's ready when I get there. Always fresh, always tasty.
