Gorgeous food, friendly service, and the cosiest atmosphere make this a perfect spot for a casual pint or nice pub meal. The Christmas menu is fabulous, as is the regular menu, with mains around £18-20.

Lovely atmosphere and despite being very busy service was quick. Would recommend.

This is a great place, the atmosphere is very cosy and intimate. The food was perfect and the service faultless. I came here because I was given a token as a present and given that it was an hours drive in each direction all the above was true!. On the plus side we discovered a really good shopping town and we will be back to have a good look around

Food was good, service from our waitress was good, the problem we had was being charged full price for a main that was also listed on the lunchtime specials menu. When we explained this to (what seemed like) the manager she was very rude to us, telling us that we should have specified this at the time of ordering as the same dish was on both menu's.. this seems like a problem of their making and not ours. She said that we should have known that we didn't get the "smaller" portion. Reluctantly she changed the bill but left us feeling embarrassed as her loud voice had attracted a lot of attention on us.

Great food, good atmosphere, great staff. Consistent service and quality of food. Can't fault it. Regular visitor, never disappointed.

A lovely bar, with attentive staff, sadly the food was average, the daube of beef was great, nothing to fault, however the duo of duck was a let down, the confit was fantastic but the breast was tough and if you are serving a fondant potato please cook it long enough that it’s not hard and undercooked in the centre. Quite expensive for what we received.

Great night at ThinazLizzy ruined by an arrogant young barman downstairs. After our little discussion about the drinks he provided, he followed me and my party upstairs to joke with his colleagues and wave sarcastically over at us. We ignored him. Won't be back, mind you, me and family spending £200 once a month will hardly affect their profits.

Super food and drink, we were looked after very well, Tamara and the other staff were fantastic and the food was unreal. Will be back

Warm and efficient welcome, real attention to the customer, live music of very good quality then atmosphere with DJ upstairs, which allows you to continue your evening in peace if you wish or to go and have fun. Cuisine appreciated, very pleasant setting.

Nice food but it has got very expensive. Staff are very friendly and helpful, but there is a girl Tamara I think her name is who seems like a supervisor who goes about flirting with men and women walks about as if she is somebody superior and who I have seen speak rudely to some customers, patronising them resulting in one of the loss of stars for this review. Very good atmosphere though always in Mary’s!

Food fantastic, not cheap but certainly worth every penny. Steak, perfect. Chips, spot on, caramelised tobacco onions - top notch. Creamy pepper sauce. Mary's may have the best chef in magherafelt, certainly high standards.

As a vegan I’m absolutely delighted to have found this hidden gem!!! Full vegan menu that isn’t just your usual veggie curry/fajitasn had vegan Mac and cheese with garlic bread and a banoffee to finish 🤩🤩🤩 couldn’t fault this place at all My partner had the carvery and couldn’t fault it either 🙌🙌🙌🙌

First time here and loved it. We wanted a traditional Sunday Carvery which they have done exceptionally well upstairs in the main restaurant. We sat downstairs in the bar area and loved it, very nicely decorated in darker colors. Our food was extremely good, will definitely go back. Our only small complaint was it was hard to get someone to take drinks orders. Very easily found as Mary's is right on the hight street.

The staff were very attentive and courteous. The assisted us on the lift with our 90 year old relative. The food was delicious and yet not over priced. Overall a lovely experience

Made a booking here, asked for a booth, it may aswell have been an invisible booth once we were sat down. No one came near us to take our order, we had to ask about ordering food. Had to go up to the bar to order drinks because no one came near us again. No one came near us again to offer drinks or a dessert menu, so we went up to the bar to pay. We were asked how it was and we told them the food was nice but the service wasn’t good, the person then went on to argue with us at the bar. She then said because we asked for a specific table they couldn’t see us, which is ridiculous because they sat us down and they knew we were there. She continued arguing for some time that we were just completely shocked. Terrible experience all together, wouldn’t recommend the place in the slightest. The staff shouldn’t be in the customer service industry

Beautiful interior, cosy and nice lighting. Food was all lovely absolutely no complaints , super attentive staff so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended 👌🏾 definitely worth a visit for a drink and some lovely food.

Food is usually better. This time was a bit disappointing. Maybe due be being very busy.

During the week fine , Sunday Carvery no bueno. Food overcooked and as bland as the staff that work there. OAP food. At least they can pour a drink good though. 3/10 - bob n berts with the precooked meat cook it better.

As always food and service impeccable. Never feel rushed which is great because it's so relaxing. Always bring family to Mary's when they visit and it's a highlight for them aswell. Thank you.

Staff, efficient, friendly and courteous. Decor and atmosphere great. Food very disappointing salt and chilli chicken dry, tasteless no chilli kick, no sauce. Vegan hosin duck the other direction, over powering sauce and not the usual accompaniments expected with this dish. My friend wasn't overly impressed with her burger either. Disappointing visit

An excellent environment to have dinner and drinks with friends.

I would usually be lucky to find a single vegan dish on the menu at most local restaurants but Mary's actually has a full vegan menu, so it has become my go-to place for a meal. The food is always very good and the staff are well-trained and pleasant. Decent selection of pints available too.

Honestly we met the most pleasant bar man .. 10 out of 10 .

Great food, drinks and nightlife

Lovely gastro pub in Magherafelt Town. On street parking but there is a great carpark 1 min up the road. Staff were really friendly and helpful (group of 10). They catered to all of our needs, service was prompt and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend a visit if ever in the area.

Beautiful bar and atmosphere. Food is an absolute rip off, £17 for a hamburger???

It was nearly empty when we arrived so that didn't give it a chance to have a great atmosphere. However if it was full , and it's huge I would imagine it could be a great place to visit. Not much from the outside to look at but the food was OK the staff were friendly . I would prefer more choice of salad or fish but what I had was ok .

Fantastic place. Only BIGGY is dance floor. People pushing and shoving to get passed to go to bar and toilets. Getting drink spilt on you..not a nice experience..rethink off dance floor would be good 😊😊

Atmosphere was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Music was at a low volume, so listening and chatting with friends was easy and clear. Our bartender who was so mannerly and welcoming, had started working for Mary's two weeks previously had a great knowledge of drinks, she made our visit a very pleasant experience. Thankyou.

Mens toilets unreal minging health should have been rung

Had our staff do here recently. Grey haired staff member was so rude to our table on many different occassions throughout the night as if we were a massive inconvenience to him. We had thought of attending here on christmas week for a large family lunch but after the service we received I will not be recommending it to anyone.

Am Kamin sehr romantisch und wunderschön. Der vegane Burger war unendlich gut. Ab 12:00 Uhr geöffnet. Sehr freundlich alle und sehr bemüht. Man kann mit Kindern dort essen gehen. Und Fernseher ist dort auch. Sehr gemütliche Sitzplätze, aber auch eine Bar.

It wasn’t the first time we came to Mary’s, however, we hadn't eaten there before so we thought we should try it. We ordered the house burger and the peppered chicken. Portions were alright and the food was really tasty. On top of that, the place was extremely cosy since we were sat right next to the fireplace. All in all, good food and a great atmosphere!

Food, Decor, & wait staff were superb!!! Wonderful time, we "held court" there and celebrated our daughter's birthday. The desserts & Birthday cake & candle were epic! Pictured is the peppered chicken tower, delicious & unique.

Men went in for a few pints while the women shopped in town. Beautiful and very clean bar. Noticed how all the optic bottles etc were sparkling. Had a lovely coffee. Very impressed indeed. Didn't eat there but the food looked amazing. 👌

First time here and will go back again. Food lovely.

Dry, tasteless chips. Stale bread on burger, they tried to hide this by toasting it but just left bread rock hard. Terrible value for £12.50 but £1.95 for a blackcurrant and water is the worst piece of greedyness I've ever seen. Don't often leave reviews but if prices are high at least make the product good.
