Marshall's in Stockton-on-Tees

Took ages to get any service at all despite only a handful of customers. I specifically asked for no tomatoes due to an allergy and the salad came full of tomatoes. Food was OK. Other customers in their included an out of control dog which no one seemed bothered about

Very poor service for expensive drinks. Unorganised when paying and a rude staff member. Expected a lot better by the look of the venue.

Been here a couple times for the food! But the service is TERRIBLE!!!! And really let’s the place down!!! Service was soooooooooo slow In fact, there was hardly any service what so ever. We had to ask to get a drink order Waited over an hour for food Had to help ourselves to more cutlery as they didn’t give us enough for everyone Then asked again for another drink order 3 of the meals came with missing ingredients Had to ask for the bill Then had to ask to pay the bill Found out the meals marked as gluten free weren’t actually gluten free as they had a disclaimer on the bottom of the menu Poor Very disappointed

We visited the restaurant last night at 7.15pm after struggling to find a table at other restaurants in town. The service was dreadfully slow… particularly the bar service and we waited 15 mins or so for our drinks after ordering. The menus were dirty and sticky…as were the tables. We should have left before ordering food but we hadn’t eaten all day and we were in a rush to pick our daughter up so we just went with it. A man drinking next to us was very loud and his language was disgusting. I did hear the male waiter/manager ask him to put his shirt back on quietly. Luckily he left shortly afterwards. The food was also very poor. My burger could only be described as ‘soggy’ and the chips were wet and stuck together in a mush. The waitress did note our wait and apologised. The other waitress was just wandering around… I watched her tidying the napkin drawer rather than clearing tables of finished food and getting people more drinks. Perhaps she was new and just finding her feet. There was a service charge included, which we decided to pay, even though the waitress did kindly point out to us that we weren’t obligated. As my husband said… you vote with your feet… we won’t be back.

I have previously left a review and am pleased to leave a much nicer update. After returning to Marshalls I've definitely noticed an increase in the standard and quality of food. Really enjoyed returning back and a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all the family. Well done to all the staff

Hi came here for a baby shower there was 4 of us all had the same meal with prawns in we all had really bad stomachs I did phone the restaurant spoke to the manager he said he would look into it and contact me .. This didn’t happen still waiting so thought I’d write a review would never eat here AGAIN no apology it was definitely the food I hadn’t eating much all day

I came here last night with some friends. We were all impressed with the food quality and would recommend. Service was quite slow getting drinks - questions about the menu were met with ‘I’m not sure, I’m new’ - so it would have been helpful if your staff were a little more informed or at least had the sense to find out.

Would definitely recommend coming to Marshall’s! My boyfriend and I are in Yarm for a wee staycation, and didn’t have the first clue where to eat for supper. I checked online for places nearby, and we both knew it had to be here that we tried. I tried The Mafia parmo and it was the best parmo I’ve ever had! I would also recommend the maverick pornstar martini, was one of the best martinis I’ve tried. The food is served hot, with tasty homemade-style chips which went down really well! If we ever find ourselves back in Yarm again, definitely headed back to Marshall’s.

A last minute decision to go for tea on a Saturday night and chose here as it was the only place that wasn’t fully booked. Food was nice and decent value (with the exception of the loaded nachos starter that seemed expensive for what we got) It wasn’t very busy and service was quite ‘leisurely’, with a long wait for our initial drinks. We had a lovely evening though and will return.

I’ve never been before and went with a party of 14 on a works night out. After reading the reviews I was half expecting to be in the pizza shop by 8pm. We were greeted by the waitress who said she was new. A warm friendly welcome that became the theme of the nigh. They managed our orders well, food was lovely and well cooked. Never waited for anything and drink orders took five minutes at most. Everyone’s food was good and I never heard any complaints. If you are like me and read the reviews please go. Either they went through a rough patch or someone is lying to try and lower the score. 10/10 will go again.

Went today for tea Fri night 5pm. Bad sign as nobody else in restaurant. Food very average snd overpriced.

The service was horrendous, 2 hours waiting and all we got was our 1 drink we had ordered. We asked where our food was she said “it was coming down now” 20mins later still no food, we had to walk out and had to go to the pizza shop for a takeaway. Read the reviews before attending ! It is appalling and two hours of my life I’m not getting back. Very very very disappointing.

Absolutely utter shambles from start to finish actually embarrassing that this place is still open and operating. Wouldn’t go back here if it was the only place open for food. All five meals were sent back after 1.5h wait, paid for drinks and left. Took 40 mins to get the drinks as well. Parmo arrived with no chips 😂 by the time they arrived we’d all decided we were leaving!

0 stars. Service was appalling. It’s table service but you have to beg for a waitress to come over. When they say ‘I’ll be with you in 2 mins’ expect to wait another 20. our first drinks didn’t arrive for half hour after ordering! Placed another drinks order and this took 35 mins to arrive and was missing drinks from the order (there was only 4 of us) 45 mins after ordering food we asked how long it was going to be. And was told at least another 30-45 mins again. We arrived at 7, left at 9 having 2 Drinks and left hungry. The section we were in had 6 tables in there. All of us had pre booked our table. 5 of which walked out midway through as the service was taking to long. The remaining table was served their food just before hand with no cutlery. This took 20 mins to arrive after being given their food.

We came for sunday dinner. Were initially impressed with the lovely decor and drinks order was taken quickly. The food let it down massively though. First attempt came cold so was taken back. After waiting a while the second attempt was not much warmer but we couldn't wait for a 3rd try. The cauli cheese wasn't brought and were told would come soon but never did. Meat was very tough. Noone came to ask if everything was ok during meal to mention any of this. Staff were polite and apologetic when concerns raises before and after but charged full price with the offer to take some boxed up cauli cheese home. Very poor execution unfortunatey so would not reccomend
