Opted to buy a different loaf, as the past 2 Harvester ones had huge holes in the middle, mentioned this to the assistant who was not the slightest bit interested that I had paid good money for poor produce. Would have expected at least some interest if not recompense.

We were travelling to a bakery shop in Bedford as my Son can only eat certain foods until we discovered this place. Trust me the food is beautiful from here they even sell fresh yeast if ordered. I just love love love their food, I heard they are selling up I hope not as we can walk to this place from our home it is so handy and is heaps better than supermarkets, why get from a supermarket when you can buy fresh from here. A bakery to be proud of in our area we highly recommend it to anyone they even sell cups of fresh purculated coffee!

During lock down we started to use this gem of a local bakery to order treats to look forward to and have continued to get items from them. Their bread is excellent, especially the cheese and onion or sourdough. They make fantastic donuts (doughnuts if you prefer) and are known for them locally. Their cakes are also something special. As a nice treat this Easter we got an afternoon tea box delivered and it just made everything that bit more special. Cannot recommend enough. Go to the website and sign up for the newsletter and you will get updates on deals which are ever so tempting and worth it.

Lovely place with a fantastic range of home baked sweet and savoury treats. The staff are lovely and really brighten your day. The prices are great and it's no wonder that there is always a queue of people no matter what time of day, it is worth queuing for!

Always love to pop in and get treats from here - the donuts are absolutely huge and there's some with jam, some with chocolate "tophats" and fresh cream. Everything is reasonably priced and the service is great

Higham's bakery has been up for sale for months now as the owners really want to sell it as a going concern. I so hope this happens as it is a real gem. The queues out of the door and down the High Street are testament to just how highly this fabulous little bakery is thought of by the people of Higham Ferrers. Their home baked bread is fabulous, as are their entire range of cakes, and I cannot begin to imagine our town being the same without it. Long may it continue

This represents an excellent, traditional family bakers, the staff work through the night baking and the produce is excellent! The owner and counter staff are super friendly and polite. The breads (especially the cheese loaf) are Devine and the cakes far too delicious! Top hat doughnuts are a genius thing!! The cherry cakes are yummy and The children love the ginger bread men! The freshly prepared sandwiches are delicious- I particularly like the Chinese chicken! This bakery is truly excellent and currently on the market for sale and I just really hope somebody buys it’s who shares them same traditional values and recipes as the current owners and it continues to operate and thrive.

We were led to believe this was above average - ho hum... Service, whilst friendly, was slow. Finding a wine list took some 20 minutes. After another reuest when it arrived it was crumpled and stained. As it was warm night we decided to eat outside - tables could have done with a good wipe, and the floor had obviously not seen a sweep for some time - cigarette ends all over the place. Menu was nothing more than average selection of pub food, and from arrival to food arriving took one hour. On the plus sign - food was hot, and acceptable, portion size - substantial. (No need for a starter.)

We stayed here on two occasions, in our campervan to the rear of inn. Quiet and good location. We enjoyed a nights sleep during both our stays. The staff at the inn are fabulous, welcoming and friendly and the owners are really doing a great job. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the inn was just what you’d hope for, log fire burning in the hearth, dog friendly and lots of positive chatter. I’d recommend this as a stopover and eatery.

Me and my husband arrived at the restaurant with our 6 month old for my sisters 18th birthday meal, we have been here on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed our time here, however this time was different. My mother had booked a table for 6 people and a baby , which was accepted over the phone, when we turned up we were greeted very rudely by a staff member , who pointed out children are not to be in the restaurant past 6 o clock, the lady then stated that this information is ‘plastered’ over the website, however when looking on the website there was nothing stating this, or certainly not ‘plastered’ all over it. I do understand rules are rules and I respect that, however the tone in which this information was delivered was very rude, it was almost as if we had brought in a disease, I really feel these rules need to be made more clear. Following this myself and my family left. We then headed over the road to the Duke of wellington where we were accommodated excellently by polite friendly staff , they even moved chairs around for us. We had a lovely meal , the food was so tasty, cheese board was great, worth every penny. We will not be returning to the love of wine, however the Duke of wellington we definitely will be.
