This place is amazing...very old beautiful building..food freshly made..absolutely delicious..staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the area...there is a step into the bar area..but around the side entrance is wheelchair access...I couldn't make it to the upstairs dining room, so stayed in the bar area, which was delightful..if you visit Banff..very well worth a visit..

Fine vibe on a Saturday afternoon. They do a great pint of Guinness!

Just the best pub in Banff. Great landlord & Lady. Great beer and food. The staff were very friendly. We had a great time there and were made to feel right at home. Great pub will be back next time.

Absolutely delicious meal I need a gluten free meal. There was a fantastic choice. Big portions of home cooked food.

What a wonderful dog friendly pub. We came on holiday and had 2 dogs with us and they were treated like royalty. As soon as we had got our feet under the table the dogs were given a water bowl straight away. Our food was excellent with a large menu which was difficult to pick from as there was loads to choose from. They even have a dog food menu. Ours had sausage in gravy which went down a treat. Great beer too and really friendly staff and great atmosphere.

What a fabulous bar and restaurant. The food was really tasty, the selection of drinks was spot on, the staff were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was just right.

Never had a poor meal and good service

Have been twice now very good food. Gammon egg 1st time. Very nice dinning up stairs. Fish chips 2nd batter so nice and light. Locals very friendly. Well worth a visit.

Had an amazing meal at the Market Arms. So much to choose from. Being able to take our dog is a bonus. Our dog loved the doggy menu. Would highly recommend it

Quiet night so The atmosphere was not great. Good was very good, vest chips in years, Breaded Fish was lovely.

Came in Mothering Sunday, served by a lovely young girl who was extremely friendly and made me very welcomed! Would definitely come here again if she was working as she made the pub feel homely! Food was great couldn’t complain, suggesting to family and friends.

My wife and walked into this place at lunchtime on mother's day. Upstairs was full but they was more than happy to accommodate us in the bar for a meal. The service was outstanding! The lass behind the bar knew exactly what she was doing and very friendly. I can't say high enough for this place. The food came out in a below average time and was amazing. Perfectly cooked and flavours were perfect. If you are in this area, pop in for a meal you won't be disappointed.

We stopped in for lunch with the our Dog. Staff where great and very friendly. Both had fish dishes that where excellent and fresh. Will definitely return. Great value for money too

Excellent meal for 4 and a toddler. 2 of us had the festive burger which was huge, best burger iv had in a long time and proper homemade chips. Service was prompt and friendly. Highly recommended x

Great food, lacking in atmosphere. As a group we described it as a library !

Would definitely recommend the Haggis, Neeps & Tatties but the highlight was the fact that dogs have their own menu, with big portions and very reasonable prices!

Had a lovely meal here today. Homemade lasagne ,chips,salad,coleslaw and garlic bread. Excellent value for money .

This wonderful place kept the kitchen open to serve 11 of us with food at 2pm. Everyone had a brilliant meal, and the staff were so helpful and welcoming. Will definitely go again if in the area.

We were scratching around trying to find somewhere to seat 11 of us for lunch at very short notice. It was 1:45pm on a Monday & we had already been turned down by others due to the time. However, The Market Arms came to our rescue. The food was very tasty and the staff were truly amazing. They stayed after their shift, were very friendly & gave wonderful service. Can't recommend highly enough!

First time in Banff and first time at The Market Arms. Went there with friends and had an absolutely wonderful meal which is very tricky for me as I’m gluten intolerant and can never find anything decent to eat. I was given a gluten free menu and I was expecting there to be a couple of choices but I had a whole menu of choices including macaroni, battered haddock and battered chicken strips. I ordered the chicken strips expecting a few thin pieces of chicken but instead had 4 thick battered chicken breasts and all I can say is WOW!! I haven’t felt this satisfied and full from a gluten free meal since I became intolerant 4 years ago! I was so full I couldn’t even think of pudding 😁👍. My compliments to the chef, he/she deserves a 10/10. Would definitely come here again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stopped at the Market Arms for food after searching the surrounding villages and towns for vegan food to little avail. We were welcomed warmly, there is a dedicated menu with options (which if you're vegan and at a general restaurant is always a welcome surprise), and the pub itself is nice, though small, and a historic Banff building. We ate the jacket potato with vegan haggis, which was the nicest we have ever had, and amazingly well priced. Thank you for such a nice meal - wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

Was wondering around Banff and came across this place and thought we would give it a try. Very glad we did. The food is excellent and the staff are really welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend. It is quite small but a good atmosphere. The main restaurant is upstairs but they also serve food in the main bar downstairs as well.

Great pub, food used to be great but the butter chicken wrecked our weekend and ended up on a severe minimum radius with the bathroom

We stopped in on a Monday lunchtime for drinks and ended up having food, purely down to the menu! My wife had lasagna and was the best she had ever had and I had the katsu loaded fries which were amazing! We sat in the beer garden and had luck with the weather being very sunny

We arrived with our dog on a busy Saturday afternoon and was Immediately made comfortable and made to feel welcome. We were given menu's for us and one for the dog, given a dog water bowl and even a blanket for her as we were sat outside. The food we had was so nice and the service second to none. We will 100% be back.

Had lunch here with family.....very impressed to see they had a separate menu for people intolerant of gluten and dairy. Their free from fish and chips were delicious, a rare treat. My husband was also very happy with his steak pie (a proper pie) and chips. Thank you

Arrived after food service closed at 2pm but lovely lady said we could order off the basket menu. Food arrived hot and with a smile, great hospitality!

Food is absolutely amazing! Good value for money, generous portions. Came up to Banff for the day with my family. Will definitely be back. Ordered the salt & pepper chicken burger, sweet chilli chicken and a tuna & cheese panini. Portions were great and very satisfying. Salad and coleslaw served with meals all fresh and very tasty. Chips and onion rings with the burger were golden and perfect. Burger tasted so good with the cheese melted to perfection...we'll be back for sure. Creme egg cheese cake.....AMAZING and must be tried! Along with the raspberry and chocolate brownie.Few pints and tea also had and ended a great day. Welcoming and very attentive staff with a cosy atmosphere. Probably become regulars, it's that good.

Place is amazing. Home made chips were so good I wanted to take some home with me. Down stairs smells a bit odd but upstairs was perfect. Sitting in a building hundreds of years old was a lovely setting for my daughter's birthday meal. I shall be back!

Cleanest pub / restaraunt I've ever been in, and I've been in a few! Beautiful building with a lovely atmosphere. Staff absolutely wonderful. Food is divine. I'd like to be able to recommend a dish but it would so hard to pick from the menu! They also have a vegan, gluten free and DOG menu. A million (maybe an exaggeration) different whiskys, good gin and cocktail selection, impressive non alcoholic selection. Decent coffee too. Oh and they will even let you take your dinner home instead of eating in! Got two meals last week to take home and they were fantastic. All in all, a brilliant, well run pub and restaurant. Warm and welcoming. Lovely to see proper pumps and staff who can use them. If you want somewhere you can sit and drink, get a full belly (portion sizes are good), take your dog and generally feel at peace with the world by the seaside, THIS is the place.

Great place for a relaxing especially if you have a dog - even have a genuine menu for dogs!! Also provided two dog beds AND good food for us! Will be going again. Try it - casual and relaxed and fun.
