Whilst spending a few nights in Montrose we visited a few bars, there had been a lot of recommendations for this one so we popped in. The atmosphere wasn't great and the beers tasted awful... so disappointed! Don't think we'll return!

The bar is beautiful and traditional. The guy behind the bar was fantastic and who ever was in the duke box had a great taste in music. However when the bar man finished his shift 2 lassies took over and the blonde one was smoking her vape and looked very angry during her shift. Felt uncomfortable and left. I wasn’t aware we could smoke inside the Market arms. 21/11/24

This is a very nice pup, decorated in a very traditional looking style with comfy seats. Background music is perhaps a bit loud but overall a nice experience. Real ale available and appears to change regularly.

Cracking traditional pub, like it's been uplifted in from Edinburgh Old Town. Service was a bit slow, however in their defence they didn't know there was a football match on that would sizeable increase their footfall on the night.

Great town centre pub on the main street through Montrose. The bar was full of football fans during my Saturday afternoon visit, both sets of fans drinking together, just how it should be!! Located very close to Montrose FC. Live sport was being shown on multiple large screens, different sports, catering for everyone. One real ale was available, Inveralmond - Ossian, which was in great condition! I would visit again and recommend!

It was quiet the night we were in, but even so , a decent atmosphere!!

Very dramatic pub just like the Royal however some staff were friendly but stuck by the side of the locals. Not safe at all would not recommend and would highly disagree with there customer service do not recommend.

Great place to drink, even when busy seating allows for easy group conversation without having to shout. One of the best in Montrose for ales

If you're a local, probably a okay pub, but I stood waiting while anyone familiar to the bar staff got priority.only a tourist, will not be back.

Friendly staff with good selection of drinks!

Only downside was they had no food. Good old fashioned type pub. The decor was modern. It even had a snug not seen in many pubs these days. The bar and glazed windows were works of art. Nice atmosphere.

Lovely old Traditional Scottish pub in Montrose. Very reasonably priced bar snacks. Not big meals/cooking but just nice. Really enjoyed visiting it.

A lovely lunch of soup and a sandwich for only a fiver. Friendly staff and a popular place at lunchtimes, conveniently located in the centre of town.

Decent pub, good selection of beers and very good selection of whiskies. Also a basic but good lunch menu, (roll and mince anyone). Friendly staff and good service, happy to go back again anytime.

Always pop in for a couple when we stop over in Montrose, staff have always been great and welcoming.

Super cozy and authentic pub in the heart of Montrose. The service staff are very friendly, the background music is very good and the prices are fair. You can really tell that mostly locals come here to have a good time. The selection of alcoholic drinks also seems very extensive. Top.

Live music, delicious beer, nice staff! We actually wanted to eat something, but unfortunately we didn't have it that evening. However, the boss referred us to a hotel around the corner. He was right, we had a top burger around the corner and a good beer with good music beforehand!

Lovely pub + staff. very expensive measures, vod + soda for £2-75.for 25 mls. Extortionate.

Vibrant friendly sports bar with great selection of draughts and spirits. Multiple screens showing 3 different games in high Definition. Unfortunately was not serving food later in the day when we visited hence only 4 star.

Great choice of well made fresh sandwiches and delicious snacks. Mushroom soup was Yummyyyyy. Service was excellent, very efficient and friendly staff. Would highly recommend it for a lite lunch.

popped in for a light lunch and a drink. My sister and I were warmly welcomed by the barmaid. Social distancing was evident as was a sign in book at the door hand gel and antibacterial wipes were available. Our sandwiches were well presented and I would definitely recommend The Marjet Arms to anyone visiting Montrose
