Maray in Liverpool

Visited the first time for the lunchtime menu, £17.50 for 3 small plates plus we added a rice dish with onions from the main menu. Fried chicken, goats cheese, cauliflower bhajis and falafel were memorable but our decision to order the rice/onions dish backfired as it was awful, far too salty, dry and chewy.

Beautiful food, excellent knowledgeable staff, well worth a visit. Don't expect big portions , these are small plates, but they will leave you satisfied. Recommendation is to 2 to 3 plates per person. Personally I feel you need 3. I had the sea bass, lamb and sweet potatoes, all wonderful and packed with flavour, to drink I had the peddler - light and refreshing, for those who dislike sweet cocktails. Certainly worth a visit if you are in Liverpool. I will return.

Really enjoyed the food but sadly our evening was spoiled by very poor service - we waited well over an hour for our food to arrive.

The Christmas specials are here! Maray have worked their magic on sprouts, roast potatoes and pigs in blankets. We had all three together with the braised carrots and sea bass from the main menu. All dishes were bursting with flavour and complemented each other really well. We'll hopefully get back before Xmas to have the whole lot again!

Great food, lovely atmosphere and convenient location in centre of Liverpool. 90% vegan menu but fish and meat dishes available. Really tasty Middle Eastern inspired dishes. Nice kick of spice. Small plates to share allows you to try lots of dishes.

Went for lunch it was really good food, good lunch time prices, you can get one mezze and 2 plates for £17.50. Nice atmosphere and great service.

We had gone to a concert at the Philharmonic and were expecting to have dinner afterwards, but were dismayed to discover that everywhere we went in that area had stopped serving food or were closing (at just 9pm!) We walked back down towards Bold Street which we knew was lined with restaurants. The places we passed along the way that looked promising were also closing, it seemed. When we got to Bold Street we happened across Maray, a review of which by Jay Raynor I had come across when looking for places in Liverpool for our visit there. It was a lucky find; not only were they still serving, but the food and service were both excellent. We had a plate of pickles and dips, a transcendental rump steak, some flatbread, butter beans and leeks, braised carrots, and the fries with hummus and zhug, along with two delicious house cocktails. I'd go back any time, with pleasure....

Hi went to Maray Bold street pre concert on a rainy night midweek . Lovely welcome and staff had erected a curtain to shield customers from the weather . Menu is limited which I like as your sort of guaranteed freshly prepared food . Wine list is simple but the list reflects the menu . Staff were boss always about so no waiting for more drinks or the bill . It’s a very cozy restaurant but again to my liking . Have no complaints too evening. 👍

Outstanding experience. Loved the ambience, staff, service and food. Just the right size menu with something for everyone - and the tastes were superb. I can totally recommend the Disco Cauliflower. I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant to everyone.

Fab family lunch one lazy Sunday afternoon - great food, good drink including a selection of non-alcoholic option, friendly service and excellent value for money. We were too stuffed to consider even a light evening snack, yet the food wasn't heavy, just fabulous and in huge portions.

Amazing food with balanced flavours. Everything is home and hand made in house. Wine was very nice and complemented the dishes perfectly. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Maray has two restaurants, one in town and one at the Albert Dock. Both are amazing. Would highly recommend it to locals or anyone visiting Liverpool as a must.

Absolutely delicious, visited with my wife and we ordered 5 plates to share between us with some bread. I visited for the first time about two years ago but due to covid, it's taken me a while to return. The food and cocktails are delicious, and if you have an outdoor or window seat, it's a great place for people watching on Bold Street. I won't leave it so long for my next visit.

We went for a birthday lunch and my daughter and I are vegan, firstly the staff are super friendly without being in your face, we where recommended to order 5-6 dishes, we chose 5 which was more than enough and omg! We where not disappointed. The disco cauliflower isa must! Bursting with tasty flavours J defy even non vegans not to love it, we had the roasted broccoli , Bhaji cauliflower, focaccia and vegan butter and hummus. Wow, wow, wow! Full to the brim. Such a talented chef, not many people get the vegan taste but he is a dream. We will most definitely be returning, thank you to the team

We happened on this stunning venue by change while we were exploring the Dock area. We sat in one of the booths on the over looking the dock and instantly drawn to the diverse and interesting menu. The restaurant is suited for vegan, vegetarian and meat eaters. We were spoiled for choice and picked a few dishes to share as we enjoyed our drinks and watched the world go by!Staff are very helpful and professional recommended and advising on the food and drink. One lager which is very drinkable an impressive cocktail list. With a fresh take on all foods they serve this place is a must for any trip to Liverpool and we will make a B-line for sure!

Visited there with my sister as we were in Liverpool for a short break. Had great service throughout the meal and the food was really delicious. The cauliflower and prawns I’d really recommend.To top this off the barman went above and beyond and wrote down a list of recommendations for us to do during our stay. He also talked us through them. It was so kind and we really appreciated it!

We ate here on a weekend in Liverpool based on recommendation of friends. My wife is vegan (but eats eggs) and was delighted at the selection of food available - quite often the 'vegan' selection is pasta & tomato or risotto !We had a good mix of dishes...too many but it was a delight to have such a selection. Favourite dishes were the braised carrots and disco cauliflower.Would we go back - absolutely !Would we recommend to friends - definitely !!
