Good takeaway , eat twice in a 7 day stay and both were very nice

An absolute disgrace. My wife ordered the chicken and mushrooms, which was edible. My son ordered the crispy salt and chilli beef, which was dry and totally bland ,there was no sauce, and was very short on beef! He described it as " deep fried cardboard ". I had the " special " mixed curry. The sauce was basically brown custard, totally lacking any hint of curry. The predominant taste was that of cornflour, or lack of taste I should say. The reception staff were great and couldn't apologise enough, but we're £30.00 down and feeling cheated. Avoid.

Went to collect food and man was rude at front of counter. Pork chow mein tasted like dish water and not much meat in it. Egg fried rice wasn’t that brilliant as had hardly if any egg in it. Had a few mouthfuls and then left it. Been sat on the loo for the last past 20 minutes now. Got bad stomach. Won’t be ordering from there again.

This is a well-run, effective take-away. At the price point it is very fair exhange. Cash only, and functional: yes. But service is always prompt or early, food is well-done with the litmus test of Peking duck always a pleasant experience. It won't change your life, but for a tasty, quick treat that does exactly what you would hope for? Hard to beat.

Fairly standard small town Chinese takeaway. The lady who served us was very helpful and friendly. We had chicken chow mein and this was a good sized portion with plenty of chicken and noodles. Food was tasty and good value.

This is the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Nothing tasted like it was supposed to. The beef tasted of fish. I threw the whole thing in the bin. Sorry but you sell Shockingly bad food.

Have had 2 takeaways in the past 3 weeks. Food has been.very good, choices good and prices good. First time had food for 2 of us. Last time for 4 and enjoyed a.larger variety of good food

Good food, chicken and sweetcorn soup was probably the best I've ever had, chicken udon was equally as good, salt and chilli squid really nice too. Definitely will be returning.

We haven't been to the madarin for agshi and the Owners the place before it wonsent very nice but now it much better the food test All so as if you like Chinese a nerve really good place is the powrock in southmolton

Haven't been to The Mandarin for years (it didn't used to have the best reputation) but heard the food was good there now so decided to give it a try. Food was excellent, had special fried rice and crispy chilli beef and both were amazing. Will definitely be going back.

I can’t comment on the food as I didn’t get a chance to try it, but this wasn’t without trying. We phoned up and placed an order, weren’t told the final price or any further information than it outdated be ready in 15 minutes. When I turned up to collect and pay I was told it was cash only. I had no cash, had I been made aware of this I’d have come prepared. I asked where the nearest cash point was, but this was behind a padlocked gate and the machine in the nearest bank was out of action. I went back to explain the situation and was told that I was informed it was cash payment only (I 100% was not) and left without any food, as did the other customer in there when he heard of the payment situation.

Food looked and tasted like it had been reheated for a few days running before being sold to us. Very disappointed and would not return.

Wasnt sure what to expect from the varied reviews on here but was pleasantly surprised. Food was piping hot and everything correct with our order, even had a few extra prawn crackers which was spot on! Tasty food and will definitely be back.

Went in and ordered, young woman at the front couldn't have been more lovely. However, got home with Chinese and realised the kitchen had given us the wrong order! Telephoned in and explained our issue. The man that spoke to us was quite rude saying that it wasn't his fault. But if we came back he would do our order. Drove the 12 miles back to the Chinese, no apology. He just said that it was the woman on the counters fault not his! So rude! Got the food home again, really awful it was really spicy, cold and we just couldn't eat it. Complete waste of time and money!

very disappointed, I didn't get what I ordered but was ok with so ended up with chicken balls which were so greasy I could squeeze the the grease out of it, special fried rice only had bits of chicken and pork in it and the pork dish that was meant to be spare ribs was mainly onions and bean shoots, tasting like bits . I have had to throw most of this away..

My partner has just had the most awful service at this takeaway. We both like duck and pancakes but like to order extra vegetables/ pancakes & plum sauce as we like to make it a main meal . He was slightly surprised to be charged £5 extra for this as we only get charged £3 at our home near London. On getting back to our cottage we open the vegetables to find 95% cucumber and 6 strands of spring onion , usually we expect 50/50 . My partner returned to the takeaway and was told in a dismissive manner that we don’t have any spring onions so gave you extra cucumber, he offered to pay him some money back but would keep the cucumber. The lack of customer service was quite startling, to have been before leaving the shop that they didn’t have spring onion would have been polite but he was obviously happy to take the money assuming my partner wouldn’t return. Not happy to be lied to and to be dismissed in such an uncaring rude manner. To add insult to injury both pots of plum sauce were only 20% filled , lost the will to return at that point.

I've got allergies to some foods and they where really helpful with this for me checking everything on our order. It was lovely to have such care and attention. We all really enjoyed the food . We will be using this one again. We'll done The Mandarin

Family run take away shop with good hygiene, absolutely love the food there! I'm a regular customer there, highly recommended!!

Horrible and lacking taste with really chewy meat. I think they need to go to Hungs up the road and do some homework.

Recently changed hands and first impressions aren't amazing. My first meal from there was Satay Chicken Skewers and Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls. Balls didn't have crispy batter and sauce was standard. The chicken in the balls also seemed chewier than before, not such great quality of meat. Satay chicken very nice but not much in the way of sauce (taste fine but not lots of it - spice level was perfect for me but if you like spicier foods then you probably wouldn't taste it) and pineapple was cold. Also, we spent about £20.00 and didn't get any free prawn crackers, which I thought was a bit stingy, as usually we'd have them for £15 or over. OK, but not amazing.

Good quality standard Chinese takeaway fare. Big portions.
