Cool place. But £3.30 for a half pint of coke, considering it was poured from a big plastic bottle in front of me, was a bit steep. Surely that isn’t right.

I stumbled into man by frog by accident and what a wonderful accident it was! Lovely Liv with curly hair welcomed me in and served me the most delicious cold pint in all of Chorlton! Will be back! 100/10

Always great to visit here. Not been for a while and the food menu has changed significantly. We had the burgers which were delicious. The cosy atmosphere in doors is perfect when the night gets a bit darker.

Popped in for a quick bite at lunch time, nice selection of drinks, very limited food menu. Opted for the burger, which was an absolute surprise, basically it was wonderful. It may be small but it packs a punch, I could have eaten several. Not somewhere I'd go for an evening dinner, but for lunch , excellent.

Walking thru Chorlton so called in...A flat white and a hot chocolate £7....even went to counter to get my own..Value for money..no...but the people who frequent these south Manchester cafes don't step outside their bubble...give it a swerve.

New menu is great 👍 can recommend the very affordable burgers 🍔, made by some lovely people. Atmosphere is great as always and the staff has never looked better 😉.

Great little bar. Definite focus on quality with better beers and wines than you’d expect for the price / location. Eclectic decor with a great Sopranos mural in the back. Very friendly staff. Sunday roasts are the best in Chorlton. Definitely recommend a potion of their chips to snack on.

Best food in Chorlton. We go there for food a few times a year and the food is always perfect. We both had a fish and risotto dish recently and the fish was cooked to absolute perfection. The steak-frites is so simple but always amazing. Maybe a bit more expensive than what people are used to spending around that strip of restaurants but you definitely get what you pay for!

Absolutely love the vibe and decor of this place - incredible, high standard food and tantalising menu, but so relaxed and unstuffy. Good service and great food, I had the courgette with lentils, and it was great.

We booked some tables outside the back for a party last weekend and we can’t say enough good things about this place. Dave was great, the staff were great and the service was flawless. Gorgeous atmosphere, accommodating, welcoming. 10/10

Love this place! Really fun and chilled setting with super lovely staff and amazing food…if you haven’t had the steak frite then you’re missing out. Being dog friendly with a cute outdoor seating area for beers in the sun is an extra highlight.

I can’t recommend this place enough! I came a couple of days back after It was suggested to me by a co worker for its relaxed and welcoming atmosphere and it didn’t disappoint! The staff were very friendly and engaging, in particularly a curly brown haired lass though I’ve forgotten her name (apologies!), I was informed that the Sundays roasts here are also a must try so I look forward to returning to try one with my other half. - Karl

Food nice, staff nice but music was terrible, constant 80's tracks, kind of heart fm. I noticed another custom asked for the volume to be turned down which they did. Initially I thought they were being post modern and ironic but joke wore thin. This is Manchester ,music matters , get this kind of sound track in a Stevenage Harvester !

Fantastic food, lovely roast dinner and delicious unusual puddings. Relaxed attentive service, all really good. Soundtrack welcoming, kids enjoyed the table football.

Oh its been time. And what better way to attempt to send those midlands queens green by checkin in via FB at this boho establishment. I was welcomed in by a wide smiling waiter and sandwiched between a chocolate labrador and a chiwawa… immediately striking up a cigarette, I fingered the options… a small menu is always a good sign on a Suns. Undecided about the vino i requested a sample of the wines (a little tactic i discovered in the mid nineties whilst on the rock n roll to get me tipsy) and i was impressed with the waiters immediacy. Gargling like Jilly Goolden (i never spit, always swallow) we eventually opted for the crisp white- it did not disappoint. The food was divine; cooked to perfection- particularly enjoyed the gravy. I had to pause frequently as the Sweetcorn Tea was in abundance; we covered a multitude of tops… and came to the conclushe we must do it again soon. The toilets served a bit of Trainspotting but its not enough to mark the place down. Lovely food. Lovely company. Lovely service. Special shout out to the waits; when he realised i was food critic for the MEN he was fanning me like a lady in waiting. Bravo guys!

Been many times over a number of years but recently for Sunday lunch. My friend had the vegetarian sunday lunch, I had the lamb. She felt it was the best vegetarian sunday lunch she's ever had. I had the lamb which was amazing. You get a fantastic range and portion of sides. Went again recently. I am still dreaming about the steak frites -yum

I enjoyed a lot but I felt prices were slightly too high. Would be 5 stars if the food had approx 2 quid knocked off per meal. Otherwise fab 🙂

Came on Thursday night it was surprisingly busy, nice vibe & friendly staff they weren’t in your face fussing around you it was quite a relaxed laid back kind of affair. The other customers were a really eclectic bunch which added to the atmosphere. We both Had baked Camembert starter, steak frites & Choc mouse for dessert two bottles of really decent red at good price just over £120 all in. Every bite was excellent, absolutely delicious. I usually find steak a bit of a let down but my friend recommended this & have to say it was absolutely perfect, cooked exactly how I requested. This isn’t a pretentious place at all, not polished or trying to be something shiny. someone else on here said it’s like going to your nans living room - it really is. The menu is small but purposely so, there is real focus on quality food done really well in a relaxed and comfy atmosphere with fab tunes playing in the background. Someone else said it’s expensive for what it is - I disagree! The quality of the ingredients shone through in every mouthful it was great value for money. Literally can’t wait to go back, thanks for a great meal guys 😊

I was eating here Sunday evening and had a vegetarian roast dinner. The food was delicious but the waitress with the blond bob was miserable. The restaurant was cold also which got in the way of fully enjoying the experience. Such a shame. If you can put up with the miserable waitress and cold restaurant then the food is definitely worth it. Quite pricey- 2 Sunday roasts- one shared desert and 2 beers equalled around £60

Hi this is our third visit - I love the food here. It is so delicious and wanted to return with the kids. We took our son, 11 and our 4.5 year old coeliac daughter. It isn't the easiest of processes dining out for us all as there are never many GF options that a child would go for. On booking (about an hour before coming in) we informed the restaurant our daughter was coeliac. On arrival, we didn't even have to mention it before the waiter came over and showed us all the GF options, which were fantastic and plenty of variety. (a good sign as well that there isn't any processed food / everything is cooked fresh) All of meals were really delicious (again) but if you are on a GF diet or are coeliac, would highly recommend Man bites frog. Will be returning.

I had been a few years back when they first opened and not enjoyed the food. I have heard so many good reviews about the food I wanted to try again só visited for brunch. The place is really nice, but unfortunately quite cold so we had to keep our coats on, I’m sure this changes when full. The staff were great, attentive and friendly. The food was disappointing, I had a veggie breakfast and my partner a French English. Both were over cooked and, therefore, not very tasty, neither of us finished. The food seemed good quality so I am wondering whether we just got a bad day? Particularly with all the rave reviews?

Yet another 5-star restaurant. This french inspired restaurant packed a punch, with its rich flavours and relaxed atmosphere with lovely staff. For my main I had the Stake-fritas with the mushroom sauce. For the steak I asked for medium-rare, it was on the rarer side, but I don't mind that. The mushroom sauce that came with it was a really nice touch and it was a pleasant surprise that the sauce wasn't as rich as the other sauces I had and didn't overpower the core flavours that the steak had to offer, the fries were good and seasoned well. We also had the Black lentil almond dahl with crispy tofu. This was presented well, but I didn't taste it, but they said it was incredible. We also had the fish (monk fish) again was presented well, but didn't taste, and yet again they said it was outstanding. Finally for the mains we had the Braised short rib, this was tender and was like butter in your mouth, and the aligote potatoes were done to perfection, with strong notes of garlic and cheese as there should be. For the desserts, we had a try of all the deserts put together, starting with the rice pudding with drunken fruit. This was warm and very comforting, it really made you feel like you were at home. The. The bruléed bananas with the ice cream and sauce really hit the sweet spot, the texture was perfect and was very satisfying. Finally we had the Chocolate Orange mousse which was very rich and smooth with perfect hits of orange. All of the meals were close to perfect and the atmosphere was amazing, with great music taste and the laid back vibes really makes you relax and enjoy the great food they serve there. The refined menu gave a classy edge to the place, and if you want brilliant authentic french food COME HERE. Pictures down below :)

It was nice but just could just have been a bit been a bit better. Was very loud.. a bit confused between being a games bar or a nice french restaurant.

In a world of chain restaurants this place is amazing. It has a menu that dares to be different and challenging and delivers flavour by the barrow load. Genuinely cooked fresh and to order and with delicacy of touch second too none. It’s super relaxed as well with a lovely bohemian vibe. Dogs welcome too so what more can you ask. N.B. There’s no cocktail menu but if you ask they’ll make some great drinks. Heartily recommend their margaritas.

Our Sunday roast was a long time arriving due to a "technical issue", but was very tasty, albeit a bit salty for the liking of my party. The outdoor seating was very relaxed and the staff very friendly and informal. Would possibly return again if they do have a greater menu choice during the week.

The Sunday lunch was absolutely delicious. The lamb was done like shredded lamb made into a patty. There was a lovely layered potato and some roast potatoes as well as a Yorkshire pudding. A large bowl of really nicely cooked mixed vegetables - red cabbage, broccoli, cabbage, roasted carrots and parsnips, leeks - was served alongside with a beautiful rich gravy. With a side order of cauliflower cheee, this was a perfect lunch.

Absolutely loved the food here last night. It’s our second visit and I can’t wait to go back again. I had the swordfish followed by the sea bream. Woke up thinking about it abs how good it was - the sauces, the combinations - all amazing. All who were with me really enjoyed their meals too. So happy this is on our doorstep! Becoming a favourite of mine :)

A really nice french styled restaurant (or bar). Reminds me of a brasserie with good food, drinks and atmosphere. It's got a beer garden out front and back, a babyfoot (table football) and service is friendly. The food menu looks a little over elaborate (miso sauces and emulsions) however the chef does it justice and pulls off the flavours well. Steak frites is also available and a lovely generous portion is provided. It's relaxed and a lovely place for a meal. Cosy.

My wife and I ate there last weekend, our first night out after moving to the area and first night out in over a year and was almost worth the wait. Absolutely beautiful food, excellently crafted and presented, good wine and beer choices, great service. If there wasnt so much choice available in Chorlton we would be back again this weekend. Cannot recommend it enough.

Really nice place to get some drinks and the staff are friendly and helpful. There's in door seating and outdoor seating towards the back, which is partly covered with a canvas shelter. There's also electric heaters and unlike other heaters these actually keep you warm. If anything there like looking at a nuclear bomb detonation - but you soon get quite accustomed to it. PROS - Decent outdoor space - Wide range of drinks available - Dogs are welcome (not sure indoors but definitely at the outdoor seating at the back) - Food is nice CONS - Not a lot of vegetarian or vegan options available, except for a couple of starters and fries.

This is a lovely spot with a fantastic drinks selection. I was in last night and I'm leaving this review just to say how friendly, kind and knowledgeable the staff were. Some of the best service I've had in a long time.

Superb, I don't give many 5 stars. The food here is excellent from the main menu, to Sunday Roast, to a cheeky bowl of frogs legs. The flavours are fantastic in what is such an unassuming bar. Food prices somewhat reflect this, but you are buying quality. Decor is quirky without being kitsch, and there's a good atmosphere here. The rear garden space is well decorated as a little bolt hole round the back and a surprising little addition.

We ordered 3 lamb roasts and one chicken Sunday dinner. The lamb was tasteless. The veg cake out 20 mins after we had finished the food. To top it off my chicken was bloody and pink!! When I told the waiter, he took it back...
