Restaurante a repetir numa nova visita a Londres.

I went in to order a box of 12 glazed donuts yesterday and had a terrible experience, one of the men working there was refusing to give me a batch of new donuts and said he weren’t allowed to pack some new ones in a box as I had told him that the pre made ones I bought last time tasted off when I took them home, he carried on refusing to give me the new batch and gave me and old batch which looked burnt and off, so I kindly asked him to give me a new batch, he then went ahead and done so, the other man putting the new batch out looked like he weren’t enjoying the job at all and kept making faces that made me feel uncomfortable for even asking for new ones. I’m paying £16 for these donuts and I should be entitled to ask for a new batch to be put into a box as I’m the one paying for it, I didn’t appreciate that, due to being long about what I had asked for, they had a queue of people waiting behind me getting annoyed, not my fault but theirs, can’t follow simple instructions and look annoyed at doing their job! Please do the job your asked to do next time, makes people’s lives easier!

I visited with a friend for a pre booked, three course dinner to celebrate my birthday and see Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland. ( Fabulous!). This was my first visit. The hall is beautiful and huge. We were seated at a table by a pillar with uplighting. Not good for my friend’s migraine. We asked to move and were. There was some confusion about all our details coming with us but all fine. My starter was crab cakes. Three tiny patties, fine for a starter, but I could taste everything but crab. The Waldorf Salad was mainly apple with a few bits of celery and leaves and the patties tasted predominantly of lemon. My main was Crispy Gressingham Duck. It wasn’t. The skin was soggy and the duck over cooked. With salad and a side of potatoes swimming in garlic butter. In the first interval dessert was a deconstructed apple crumble of sorts. Nice, but weirdly dry and a bit bland. The hall is beautiful but, on the ground floor area, you are seated alongside the busy bar area. Very noisy and bustling. The service was great, but overall I didn’t think our meal, at that standard of cooking, plus a bottle of wine was worth over £100 a head.
