Mamma Mia in Stirling

Excellent time spent and meal to recommend! Impeccable welcome and thanks to the kind waitress who ran into the street to bring me back my smartphone which I had left on the table.

This restaurant experience was the worst I have ever had from the service to the food to the organized treatment of the customers there was nothing missing to make it a terrible event me and and seven other friends We ate there and wanted to pay separately because their system didn't work. We all had to pay together and had to pool together the cash we still had, even though we had actually only planned to pay by card. They cheated on us. They cheated us and I'm thinking about filing a report. It's an absolute disgrace because in the end they just threw us out because we still need money. They asked for change. Such an experience is so something like that is simply extremely illegal and I think it's an absolute disgrace and if the team decides to take legal action against them I will stand up for myself because of this damage to my reputation. I will fight back with my lawyer when I fight back with seven other witnesses and will explain in a structured manner what happened and that we were even sent out without any rights to return

This restaurant had a very bad service. Me and 7 other friends wanted to eat there and when we had to pay, they refused to give us individual bills so we had to be there for half an hour. Then at the end they even kicked us out. They still didn‘t pay us back all of our money. Don‘t go there!!

I have never experienced such a bad restaurant in my life. The staff and the atmosphere are so bad that we thought about leaving but didn't. Because of their payment issues, we had to pay the entire table and scraped together the last of our cash. Since we didn't get all our change we had to talk to the owner and he finally kicked us out. Please do not visit this restaurant!

My friend didn’t even get his food, we got kicked out because we wanted to pay separately. After we asked for our exchange cash that we were supposed to receive then we got kicked out. Horrible experience.

The welcome is very friendly and the dishes are decent. I find it a shame that there are no pizzas, I don't know why they removed them from the menu recently.

Nice restaurant just outside the hustle and bustle where we sat outside on the small terrace. Ate delicious pasta. The tiramisu was made without alcohol, which provided a different taste experience than we were used to.

An Italian restaurant that closes at 8 p.m. is not a real Italian restaurant. The place is supposed to close at 10 p.m., but we arrived at 7:50 p.m. and were told the kitchen was already closed. For a supposedly great Italian restaurant, the service and customer relations definitely need improvement. For anyone who, like me, ends up facing a closed restaurant, just know that there’s another excellent Italian spot just around the corner!

We visited Stirling Castle and our bus broke down so we had to find food and came across this gem! Everything was sooo delicious. I think about the house pasta often! The desserts were wonderful and to date the best Italian food I’ve ever tasted!

Ambos tuvimos el Caciocavallo all'Argentiera para empezar, que era queso italiano derretido con pan, miel y cohete, seguido de Lasaña y Sugo Mamma Mia, el plato característico del restaurante, ambos increíbles. Desierto era Mascarpone, tarta de queso de menta y limón y Tiramisu. Tan bueno era este restaurante que nos aseguramos de una reserva para una segunda noche. A pesar de estar muy ocupado, nos acomodaron. Comida y servicio de primera clase.

Food, service and atmosphere was impeccable. I was so impressed by the quality and standard of food. I have not had Italian food like it since being in Italy. Also if you have young children, the staff are so fun and helpful to make your experience enjoyable. I will definitely be back in the future!

We heard that this the restaurant won a food award so this is why we visited I am a vegetarian the menu had little to offer but I was offered anything ! My starter was brushetta I tried to cut the bread but it skidded across the table too hard ,My spaghetti Napoli came with the garlic bread I ordered again so hard I couldn't bite it .They replaced the bread with another kind ..no garlic ,I did not eat it .my husband's meal which included chips were uneatable ,We arrived at @ 1.00p.m and left at 2 .25 p.m we were the only people in the restaurant .It was a very disappointing meal Our comments about the food went unnoticed although the server told us she would tell her mana.....it cost £65 for this very poor meal

My partner and I dined at Mamma Mia last weekend and had a great experience. The food was delicious, and the service was great. Our server (Junior was his name) did an excellent job making sure we were well taken care of. We’ll definitely be back!

Food and service were tremendous. The place was full midday on a Sunday, which is proof enough in itself that it's great. Only downside was there was one loud table that made their conversation, everyone else's conversation. Which is unfair to mark down on Mamma Mia, but it did dampen the vibe

We were planning to celebrate our friend's birthday and tried to get a table for 8 in a few places in Stirling and ended up in Mamma Mia. It was a lovely Italian restaurant with really good food! Ordered the vegetarian pizzas and pastas and had the best tiramisu I have ever had. The waiters were really lovely too. Mr. Saverio found out that we were celebrating the birthday and gave the tiramisu for free!!!! Definitely look forward to going there again and trying other foods!

Amazing, really enjoyed it here. Service, drinks and food were great. Only one thing I would recommend is that the lighting be turned down to create more of an atmosphere (candle lighting was drowned out)

It is advisable to make a reservation. The food is nothing great but the effort is honest. I recommend his carbonara.

El servicio fue excelente en todo, con los vasos, platos, etc. limpiados y repuestos como sea necesario sin ningún alboroto. La comida era deliciosa, sabrosa y todos disfrutamos de nuestras selecciones de gambas, mejillones, lasaña, ensalada y pizza. Really enjoyed our meal here! The food was lovely. The carbonara was amazing. My partner tried the orecchiette alla barese which he highly recommended. We had a very traditional tiramisu for dessert which we loved! Portion sizes were good. Both waiters were friendly and accommodating and service was quick. Thank you and we'll definitely be back.

Food was quite disappointing, Service was slow, hadn't been an hour since we arrived and just after we requested the menu to order desserts we were told that we had to leave, even though we had half an hour left on our allocated time, yes you are reading correctly "allocated time" from my booking. We paid £108 on a disapointing meal for 4. It is getting harder to get a decent out meal in Scotland, so in terms of food quality this place is absolutely just average. Service wise it is simply just shocking.

Went there with a reserved table, was pretty much kicked out 25 minutes before they told me when making the booking. Food very much over rated for the the price. Not recommended at all.

Ganz in der Nähe unseres Hotels gelegen, waren wir zuerst ein wenig wählerisch, schlenderten durch die Stadt, verglichen die Restaurants und kamen wieder zurück zum Mamma Mia. Vor allem die "Pasta Mamma Mia" und die Lasagne sind hervorzuheben. Ebenfalls das Tiramisu ist fabelhaft. Da wir von der "Italianità" überzeugt waren, bestellten wir uns noch je einen Grappa zum Espresso. Einge gelungene Abwechslung zum Whisky.

Italian cuisine in the middle of the Scottish Highlands.

Great Italian restaurant and the perfect place to have the final dinner of our trip to Scotland. The only problem is that I have no idea where to get Italian food this good back home.

The restaurant is not big, but the food is! The pizza dough is deliciously thick, the products are fresh. The lasagna is excellent, the quantities are very good. The atmosphere is very warm, the staff smiling and pleasant. Go for it!

What a delightful experience! The food was AMAZING and the service and attention were exceptional! What lovely friendly people! Just had the most amazing meal at Mamma Mia. We had calamari and king prawns to start followed by a pasta special and a risotto. Every dish was delicious.

Just like every Italian abroad, I was missing my country’s cuisine after days of UK typical food, so i went to this restaurant with my family. We really had a pleasant surprise when the restaurant owner spoke to us in Italian. We ordered two spaghetti alla bolognese and a pizza margherita. Nothing to say, it’s hard to find real Italian food like this abroad! The bill was honest and the staff friendly and kind. Definitely recommend!

As a family of italians on their last day in Scotland, we were really craving some italian food, so we decided to come here. What a pleasant surprise! Staff was (mainly) italian & extremely kind. We had a pizza and two bolognese pasta, which both were amazing. Pricing was honest. Would recommend!

A little corner of southern Italy in Scotland. After eating Scottish dishes for several days, we decided to follow the reviews and choose the "Mamma Mia" restaurant for dinner. And we didn't regret it! The environment is very characteristic and, although the restaurant does not have many tables, we managed to have dinner in less than 45 minutes thanks to the kindness of the owner Saverio. We enjoyed an exquisite pizza, an excellent stew, some truly delicious gnocchi and pasta with meat sauce. Average price. Highly recommended! Absolutely worth trying!

If you want true Italian Kitchen, this is a great place to go! The Pizza is one of the best we ever had. Mussels with or without pasta are top!!!!

Food has been delicious: Chicken cacciatore, Carbonara, even Bruschetta. Ambiente was also pleasant… Only… Okay, we reserved late three Hours upfront - glad, that we could get a table for 18:30. Arrived on time, expecting a nice relaxing time, enjoying italian cuisine. Italian cuisine went well - enjoying and relaxing didn‘t quite succeed. Service was that quick, that we were out 30 minutes later, having had the feeling, that we -as Tourists, which we indeed are- are good candidates to be brought quick through dinner to resell the table again. This impression may be very subjective and erroneous - but all the other tables around hab been seated with other guests when we came and still were there, when we left. But maybe they complain because they were forced to stay longer than half an hour… Shouldm‘t do so - at least had they enjoyed the relaxing time we would also have liked to spend..

Simply delicious and affordable. Great meal had by myself and family. They do children's portions - they asked. Highly attentive and thoughtful staff. Highly recommend. They are award winners in the region!

Great food, tasty and everything you would want it to be. We arrived hot from walking (25-min walk) and had water and a fan provided straight away by the attentive and helpful staff. I can not say how great the staff were for our whole experience. Great building, just up the road from the main town with indoor and outdoor tables and stunning flavours. Highly recommended

That was probably the best thing we ate in Scotland. Of course, except for Haggis and co. Highly Recommended. The kitchen, service and manager are very accommodating here. It was just great!!!

It was the most delicious Italian food in Starling

We stumbled upon this restaurant but very glad we did. Haven’t had many good eating experiences here since moving from London recently but this restaurant could give some of my favourite Italian restaurants in London a run for their money. The food is completely authentic and home made even the delicious bread. (Homemade) It’s a charming little venue and the staff are really friendly. We will be back! Thanks to the whole team for a lovely evening and keep up the fantastic work!!! 🥳👏🏻

Visited twice in the last week and the food was amazing both times. The lasagne and house speciality pasta mains were perfect as were the prawns, caprese salad and bruschetta starters. Highly recommend a visit, you won’t be disappointed.

Wow! Just wow! Fantastic food, probably the best we’ve had outside of Italy. Great choice on the menu, superb quality in produce, delicious food, excellent wine, outstanding service. There have been some negative comments made on trip advisor about the owner, but we found him to be very accommodating and pleasant. Lovely authentic frescoes painted in the restaurant walls of Bari by the owners friend made this a lovely authentic Italian restaurant. Highly recommend.

I ate a lasagne there. The taste was very good, but the portion was far too small, so no five stars. In this restaurant you have to be prepared for very small portions. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether this corresponds to the prices. My child had a vegan dish and was very satisfied.

The food was amazing- get the Sugo Mamma Mia, you won’t regret it. We both loved our meal. The service was fine, the owner was completely charming. Be warned- the place does close for a bit in the afternoon and Google does not reflect that.

We came in with a pretty large party (14 of us) without a reservation and the staff made arrangements to seat us quickly. Everyone we interacted with was so friendly and accommodating. My daughter dropped her pacifier on the floor and one of the staff took it to the kitchen to wash it and bring it back! The food was HOT and delicious!

Mamma mia is a small restaurant on the way to Stirling Castle. The service is attentive and cordial and the food is absolutely italian. I chose Sugo Mamma Mia, and all I can say is you should not miss it. It is a Southern Italian Ragu slowly cooked with short ribs of beef in a tomato sauce and pecorino cheese. The beef melts in our mouth so tender it is. And the flavours are exquisite. For desert the traditional Tiramisu did not disappointed! A must in Stirling!

Lovely wee restaurant on the way back from Stirling Castle... Super friendly service and a great smile and custom makes an even better impression. Fabulous pizza, sadly never had anything else, but if I could guarantee that they take great care of cooking food. Well done 10/10 ,I'll be back for sure.

Tiny, unassuming restaurant near the old jail. It truly was a hidden gem, to the point where we extended our time in Stirling to make one more meal with them! Three of us polished off two plates of Caprese salad and fresh calamari in a number of minutes. The tomatoes were fresh and flavorful. The generous portion of lasagna was absolutely delicious, melting in your mouth. It was the best we have ever had- in any town, country or continent we have visited! Surprisingly it was not well known by the locals, which could be because the owner is not a long-term local.

Despite some mixed reviews , we thought why not ? Tbh can't understand why there negative comments about staff as they were all really nice and looked after us very well. We shared a starter of King prawns on a nice sauce with toasted bread..yum. Pizzas were absolutely delicious ( we've been to Italy many times so know a good one when we see & taste it ) proper home made base , thin with raised edges , the cheese and tomato used was of the finest quality & all topped off with a generous portion of pepperoni. As the Pizzas were a good size we shared a desert and chase the lemon and mint cheesecake and despite it sounding a bit of a strange combination again it was lovely. The decor had the Italian vibe and atmosphere was relaxed with a nice buzz. No hesitation in recommending , enjoy.

Great place for a family catch up - though I'm confused why we could only book a table for 6pm when the place didn't fill up at all during our visit...? We were offered a choice of upstairs or down and am glad we opted for upstairs, which is a bit brighter and more open. Service was good - the waitstaff were friendly and attentive throughout. Enjoyed the seafood spaghetti (the veggie options weren't jumping out at me) and everyone else seemed to really enjoy their picks. Portions are great - I don't think I'd have managed a starter and a main.

A decent place if you are looking for an authentic Italian meal. The staff was very attentive, and portions of food were pretty hefty, too. A but on a slower side, though.

Booked a table for 8pm and was very much looking forward to our meal. When we arrived we were told we had to come back later as it was busy. The waiter was quite abrupt and said people were at the table and he couldn’t ask them to leave. I’m aware there’s not much room but there was no offer of a drink or if we wanted to sit down at the entrance. We ended up going to another Italian restaurant round the corner and had a lovely time. Very disappointed

The reason for dropping a star is because one member of staff was quite abrupt when we arrived which kinda set the tone, although as time went on the behaviour became more positive. The food is delicious and piping hot and overall Mamma Mia is a great wee restaurant. I just wish the staff would raise their game as this is the one part that lets the overall experience down.

Great atmosphere and superb food. The waiting staff were helpful and enthusiastic, which helped to make the evening special. The sugo is the house speciality with bags of flavour but they also offer a wide variety of vegetarian options. Ideal for a special occasion or just a night out for couples or families.

I don't give fewer stars because it's not possible. The food was very expensive (way above any other Italian) and not worth it. In addition, they have charged us €5 extra for a service that has been unpleasant, inattentive and rude. There is another Italian 100m away much better, don't think twice. Here the hospitality award they had only served to decorate the wall! Absolutely not recommended

Our super bad experience: It was raining so much, we entered to see the menu and the owner said that the menu was outside. I guess he suggested going in the middle of the rain to read his menu 😂. I asked him if we could read it in the inside and he gave it to us in a rude way. We didn't move to other restaurant due to the bad weather but if it had been sunny, we would have changed, for sure. Moreover, the food wasn't that good and the service was unpolite and made us feel like they wanted us to pay and leave. They had an anward of Hospitality and we cannot understand how... There are many restaurants so don't hesitate and go to other one in which you can enjoy your meal without feeling that your presence annoys.

Food was nice, portion size poor, thought I'd been served a kids portion of Lasagne, with very little meat content, we were robbed, wont be back, owners dismissive attitude on my complaint was "nobody's complained before" 😂
