Was an amazing place to have dinner. The atmosphere in their restaurant nice.. Recommend it when in stirling...

Food too average and simple for the price. The carbonara tasted like it came out of a microwave, the cream split which left oil all over the plate. Mediocre and small pizza for that steep price. Restaurant atmosphere too old fashioned(place hasn't changed since 5 years ago we were here)

A tasteful, dignified ambience. Fine tortellini, if not great in terms of quantity per pound. £10 for a large glass of house white wine.

Service is great but pasta and pizza are not particularly fascinating as described in the previous comments.

Group of Golfers on a walk in. Food was okay. Pizza was a little wet which made it a little sloppy. Garlic bread was sensational. 8.95 for a pint is absolutely ridiculous and I think is quite possibly the most expensive pint I've ever bought in the UK! Service was good. Shame about the beer price!

Service and location was very good, food was average. Good for an easy night out or a quick dinner when you want to enjoy a pizza (didn't have pasta, so cannot say anything about that).

We were seated fairly quickly even though the place was packed. Loved the simple, traditional decor, furniture and tableware. The food was outstanding. We had the grilled sirloin steak, and the tagliatelle with salmon. Both dishes were very flavourful but the steak was the best I've had on this holiday. The house white went perfectly with the salmon and portion sizes were filling. Loved the Menanbrea beer - a smooth, light lager that they serve by the pint. I would definitely go back and 100% recommend.

Had mussels and scallops for starters which was great. However was terribly disappointed in the mains. The vodka Salmon pasta was terrible. The Salmon was cold compared to the sauce which made it obvious that it was added at a later stage. The pasta was clumped together and some bits definitely were raw. The carbonara however was decent. Also asked for a pint which ended up being £9. Definitely would not recommend or come again

Decided to call in as we were in the area. Food good but Price for the steak Rossini and the beer was ridiculous. We have been in Scotland for 10 days now traveling around. And this is the worst for the cost . Evan back home Manchester we don't see those prices. Unless the Volume is over 9% and is a craft ale. Luckily we are only passing through. Don't let this review put you off just be aware of the PRICE

This is a popular Italian restaurant in Stirling city center. I would suggest making reservations ahead of time, especially on weekend and evenings. My husband and I didn’t have a reservation either time, but staff was able to locate a table for us which we appreciated! It has a variety of dishes and choices to choose from. We’ve been here several times, being the 22nd and the 30th of August 2024 the last two. We ordered different dishes both times, and we both liked what we had. One thing we have noticed is that there seems to be a staff shortage as the service has been a little bit slower than usual lately, but the staff in general is very polite, helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. These last two times we’ve been there we waited about 20 to 25 minutes for the meal which had not happened before. Food is always delicious and flavorful, a bit small dishes in some specific cases (Vitello al limone is an example of it) though. Prices are more on the higher end, but still reasonable for a meal that is delicious. You can swap the side dish of your meal upon request. Sadly, there is no choice of whole-wheat pasta for those of us that are under certain dietary restrictions which I would love to see change and I’m sure others would love it too. Overall, it’s a good place, nice environment, kind staff, convenient location, tasty dishes, reasonable prices, and the feel of having a piece of Italy in Stirling!

food was OK completely ripped off with the drinks £9.00 per pint won't be going back .totally ridiculous for Stirling not the West end of London

We’ve been here at least two previous times. It’s what I always think of as an American Italian style restaurant. Neatly set places with red tablecloths, partially lit by tall flickering candles in wine bottles as Frank Sinatra and other crooners play in the background. It’s a great atmosphere. We had a reservation and were shown straight to our table. There were three of us. Initial drinks were a beer and the house red wine - an Italian. Starters were two of the stuffed peppers, filled with rice and chorizo which were juicy and delicious and a prawn and salmon salad, which I was assured was equally so. Mains were a Rossini steak, a margarita pizza and the Apollo Italia Nostra - chicken breast stuffed with cheese and served with salad and a light masala sauce. This last item was a little dry but that is the nature of chicken breast and mitigated by the sauce anyway. The other two dishes were delicious. We rounded off the meal with two liqueur coffees. It was one of the best Irish coffees I had tasted in a long time, having tried several poor efforts in other venues lately. The service was excellent with the friendly staff being helpful and attentive. Price-wise, this is an expensive dining experience - at least for us - the bill amounting to £188. We thought it was worth it as a special occasion and I will leave it to your own judgement whether this is dear or not. We will be coming back, no doubt for our next special occasion in Stirling. A recommended restaurant.

Nice Italian restaurant, the service is very committed, young and nice. The food was very good, the lasagna was homemade and the pizza was made with fresh ingredients. Menabrea, Italian beer on tap. Highly recommended. Thank you very much!

Not too bad of an atmosphere and service. The food was very little both in size and taste, but at a very high price. Pizza was as thin as a fiver, but cost a lot more.

The food was delicious. We had a green salad, cannelloni, and lasagna which hit the spot! The service was friendly and attentive. The gelato and the cafe latte were great ways to end a great dining experience.

Why... Just Italian "style"... In the aperitivo italiano the cheese was ementhal... The pizza wasn't cook... It was same as chewingum... Maybe the "chef" was in holiday...

The music was too loud. The wait staff very inattentive. Could not get the order correct. 1-3/4 hours to get our food after ordering! I ordered a drink and did not receive it. This was just a very dissatisfying experience ! When I did ask very politely about our food and possibly a discount or possibly dessert , I was told: sorry you are disappointed, and then he walked away!

Charming restaurant. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent my wife and I dined here two nights in a row while on a mini break to Stirling. Highly recommend this restaurant just fab. Seafood was excellent as was the steaks. Ice cream if you can manage a dessert after your main course is a must so delicious.

Went to Italia Nostra last night for a birthday dinner. The atmosphere was buzzing, background music supplied a relaxing ambiance. Staff were very friendly and efficient and the food was fabulous. I had the fileti Rossini … the flavours were fantastic. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Will return soon.

This restaurant has a beautiful traditional Italian ambiance. I went there with my family. Unfortunately, they don't have a high chair for children, but they were very welcoming to my child. The food was very delicious; we ordered the pizza and pasta.

Was quite disappointed by this place.Never been here before,was walking by while on holiday and had a quick glance at the menu and the Calzone pizza caught dad's eye as it said it was the"Chefs speciality"then I noticed lots of Veal choices so thought we'd give it a go.The restaurant itself was rustic and charming and service was good.Then the food came came out.Dads Calzone was OK,but not memorable then my Veal came out,it was advertised as a milanese(I thought that came with pasta)Out came 3 of the smallest pieces of Veal,although well cooked,with a side salad and potato wedges and at £27,was hoping for a little bit more for my money.Dont get me wrong everything was tasty BUT overpriced.

Italia Nostra is a very good pizzeria. We ordered two margaritas and they were delicious. The portions were large, the toppings were generous. The pizza dough was perfect. In any case, I was able to taste authentic Italian flavors. The setting was also very pleasant: candles, subdued lighting, calm. I really enjoyed dining there. I will come back if I am in Stirling again.

Quite cozy Italian restaurant. The tables are covered but very tight. We tried the pizza and rigatoni bolognese. Nothing special to say about it, very standard. Friendly service. Quite expensive for the quality offered.

Delicious food and very attentive and professional service

An absolute pleasure to dine here. The atmosphere is lovely, warm, and friendly. The food is fantastic and all freshly made. The best Italian in Stirling in my opinion and our go to restaurant for a meal.

Had a lovely dinner here, however I felt very rushed to finish my food. We were told we had the table for 2 hours but an hour and a half in I could feel the stares and the waiters kept pouring our wine for us in an effort to speed us up. Maybe they were having a bad day.

I've not been in here for a good few years, not for any particular reason. The reason for this visit was a night out with the boys. The food was good, as was the drink and the service, just thought a wee bit expensive.

this is an all time favourite simply the best Italian restaurant ever. we started off with minestrone soup delightful and shared focaccia mozzarella. I had the spaghetti carbonara, my friend had chicken with mushrooms in a cream sauce both outstanding. chef is the best she adds her signature to every dish. I had a Knickerbocker glory then we both finished with cappuccino. a great experience and would definitely recommend to anyone and assuredly will be back.

We had a wonderful meal while on a weekend away in Stirling. Despite being incredibly busy with the pre Christmas crowds, the manager managed to find us a table for 8pm. Serving staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Our food was fantastic and full of flavour - the arrabiata was especially good and the bruschetta excellent. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming and a fellow diner giving an astounding rendition of Nessun Dorma added to the festivities! The staff also deserve commendation for their excellent handling of some extremely drunk customers who having complained about an aspect of their meal (didn’t stop them from eating it,or consuming a fair bit of wine) decided to try to leave without paying. We were close enough to their table to hear this being said. They complained to the server and demanded the manager come out to explain things. Upon speaking with the manager one individual said they weren’t paying (not even one assumes for the wine). This particular individual was fairly belligerent. The manager informed them that police would be called if they refused to pay and after some back and fore the party grudgingly agreed to pay something towards the meal. The fact that this happened in front of other diners must have made the situation more awkward for staff but they dealt with it very well, apologising to the remaining customers afterwards (no apology needed). We will definitely return should we be in Stirling again. Lovely place,

Ordered a pizza with chicken, only 2 small pieces, complained and wasn’t interested, i ordered broccoli with the steak Diane, the included potatoes were taken away when I asked for my broccoli and broccoli showed up after meal finished, Steak was nice but north value for money, my starter tasteless.. at the end we asked for some gesture due to pizza and main problems, they weren’t going to budge, after a row where the waiter behind bar said we would f@@cking pay full price ensued, stubbornness set in, explained being sworn out was out of order and not going to be pro active to sort situation out they reluctantly knocked pizza off of bill, a few mouthfuls of pizza were had trying to find chicken but nothing more, no gesture offered for steak lack of anything accompanying.. wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t go back. In my opinion their arrogance and aggression was way over the top

Traditional Italian restaurant in décor and menu, with a smart set of looking waiters all attentive and friendly . Opted for just main course as the portions were large and we wanted room for dessert. Can recommend both the Tagliatelle Con Salsicsta and the Rigatoni Alla Calabrena served with Focaccia and washed down with a bottle of Frascati. A nice place for relaxed dining .

Ate there on the 26th Nov, absolutely brilliant. Delicious food and great service. The chef allowed us to enter 15 mins before opening time and treated us wonderfully.

Enjoyed a fabulous meal tonight! Spaghetti Marinara which was a feast for the eyes alone in presentation. My partner said it was delicious. I had a Penne dish, apologies I cannot remember the name but it was also delicious. Service was 5 star, attentive and extremely professional. Other restaurants could learn a lot from how this restaurant is run! First visit but we will definitely be back!

Highly recommend Italia Nostra. It was a last minute decision and the restaurant was very accommodating. It's wonderfully traditional inside, original furnishings. It's quite a challenge to find an Italian that makes fresh pasta - this is my new favourite place to eat. I had pate to start; my husband had roasted stuffed pepper (filled with mince, rice and mozzarella). Our mains were a tagliatelle with hot sausage and mushrooms in a tomato sauce, and tagliatelle with ham, peas and blue cheese. It was pricey, but food as fresh as this - I don't mind!

I love this restaurant !! Superb menu with a good choice of wine - I would recommend the Monticello - to start with the smoked salmon with prawns - Marie rise sauce and salad . 10/10 - pasta with prawns in. Garlic sauce - delicious ! A nice atmosphere in this restaurant and the owner is very attentive - Will certainly be back -

Place was empty staff weren’t rude but not really friendly either, was extremely over priced for what we had, soup was awful minestrone hot water with some random pieces of veg floating around first time av seen broccoli in minestrone aswel but that was about all that was in it, decor nice enough but I wish we had walked passed and saved our money

Outstanding Italian cuisine with authentic flavors and excellent service. Best in town.

We had dinner here, a group of three. Service was great, menu selections are great, and the food is magnificent. Wine list is good, not too long. However, there are three or four by the glass options, so if there is something you really want, go the bottle route - the choices are good and not too expensive. It's a small place, so do make a reservation if you can. We walked in around 7:30 and it was full except for one open table, which we grabbed. Meal timing is good, even when they are busy you are not rushed. There are a few fish options, and some meat options, some vegan options too. I don't think you could order anything here that was not great.

We enjoyed the food very good, wine a bit on the expensive side compared to other local restaurants, service was also very slow. All in all, we did enjoy our meal.

Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for two pizzas. Other tables waited equally long for pasta. Not even a full restaurant. Not a wood fired pizza oven either. Don’t go there 👎🏻

Limited menu, excessive markups, painfully slow service - well over an hour to cook a pizza that takes what? 3mins to cook, and stroppy petulance when I noted that it was slow. I wouldn't return. Pizza was OK.

Very disappointed with our meal, uninspiring, badly plated, my mushroom, garlic and cream pasta had in total of 5 small slices of mushroom, and no sauce to speak of. The garlic bread was dry and where was the garlic? Lovely looking restaurant, however very overpriced … we will not be back.

Das Essen, wir hatten Pizza und Pasta, haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Gerichte wurden sorgfältig mit frischen Zutaten zubereitet, was ich positiv hervorheben möchte. Das Ambiente im Restaurant war stimmig und passte gut zu einem italienischen Lokal. Der Service war herzlich und jederzeit aufmerksam. Alles in allem ein gelungener Abend und wir können das Restaurant uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen!

Truly a superb experience! The warm decor and ambience invite you to relax and enjoy a leisurely meal together. And enjoy you will! One of the best lasagnas I’ve ever had, and the chicken Italia Nostra was also excellent. Professional service with a lean crew—which isn’t easy to accomplish.

Booked a table for me and my partner for dinner, my partner ordered the scallops which were £16 for a starter when this came out there were only 2 scallops on the plate we then said to the waiter we felt this was unreasonable for the price he did not care said no one else had complained and that would feed it back no apology nothing! We asked for the bill and cancelled the main courses due to this and the bill still came to £62 for starters and drinks their loss to be fair if the waiter had took shown some empathy we might have stayed for the steaks we ordered! Won’t be back again now overpriced for a basic Italian with basic decor

Went to take my partner for her birthday. Menu looked nice, ordered the scallops for starter for £16, thought it was a tad steep but i assumed the quality would compensate for the price; I received two scallop shells with a more than healthy serving of garlic butter which drowned the hell out of my measly two scallops, asked the waiter what was going on and he said he had no complaints in the past: there is no where in earth i would pay £8 for a scallop in an outdated restaurant with a waiter with a chip on his shoulder; will definitely not be back:

Superb food. The house red was excellent. Served by a very capable young man, who, by the way, was pretty much doing everything, except preparing the food. Relaxed, cozy atmosphere.I felt like a regular the way we were treated. We were told by a couple dining next to us that the capable young man was the owners son. You could tell by the care he showed to all who walked through the door that he took great pride in his family's restaurant. If you find yourself in Stirling, Scotland, stop in. You won't be disappointed.
