Firstly this take away only place appears to be open for years now albeit under the name Malocca’s but I only spotted it a few weeks ago. I decided that I’d try it out but the first time after deciding to try it there was a queue extending out the door; but I think it might have been one of those religious - only eat fish - days. As it happened my first visit was accidental as I just happened to be quarter of a mile from it at dinner time and passing by it for home. There is some parking outside it but the road is heavily trafficked and you need to be careful as you reverse out. The queue was small in number, about four in front of me, as I placed my cod n chips order at a whopping £7.50. These are London prices. In fact at this price I cold enjoy (and very recently did enjoy) a sit in Harry Ramsden’s cod, chips and mushy peas in the Lowry centre, Manchester. I noticed the lack of interaction between staff and customers. Once an order was placed with payment and salt and vinegar confirmed we stand back in silence waiting for our food. No real engagement between customers and staff. The cod I got was ok but thinner than I’d like. The good thing was that the fish batter which wasn’t too greasy survived until I got home, without becoming soggy. The chips were good too but as I said the Harry’s meal was streets ahead, particularly in quality and the size of good cod. Would I return here. No. I’d rather drive to the Pit Stop, Kilkeel for a superb sit in cod & chips that puts this food well in the shade and for less money as their sit-in provides a soft drink.

Some elements were very good - Chips were great. The greasy, squishy type of chippy chips. Gravy was the lovely black chippy gravy d nice. But, unforgivably, the southern fried chicken was burnt. Like really black and burnt. Hard, dark, unchewable, horrendous. It went in thr bin. I couldn't even prise the meat off the bone with my hands for the dog. Malocca should be ashamed of themselves bagging up that garbage, handing it over smiling, knowing how a customer would feel when they discovered it at home. For shame!!!! For that reason I will never darken their door again. Just despicable.

Crispy fish and fresh cut chips. Yummy. Friendly staff and a welcoming feeling every time you enter this establishment. Never dissappointed when I eat at Malacca's takeaway

Whilst driving down the M1 I though why not stop off the motorway at newry south junction to try a pizza that I had heard about. Best decision I've made in a while. The pizza was delicious. The staff where very friendly. And being from Italian extraction, they are very passionate about their good. A must try. 😉

Very good food and a lovely waitress. The woman with short brown hair and glasses who was the “host” was rude as we walked through the door. Wouldn’t have her on front of house staff.

This was my first time visiting LDV, and I enjoyed the experience. It's a busy place with an extensive menu . My waiter was great, recommending certain pizzas and sides . Food quality was excellent,
