La Dolce Vita Pizza Burger Bar in Newry and Mourne

This was my first time visiting LDV, and I enjoyed the experience. It's a busy place with an extensive menu . My waiter was great, recommending certain pizzas and sides . Food quality was excellent, and I was surprised at the negative reviews as I really enjoyed my night and would definitely return.

Ordered a 9 in pizza and chips nothing special to be delivered to the cwc newry at 8.04 last night was told it would take 40 mins which I did not mind rand a couple of times to find out where my food was and was told it was on its way at 10.25 my food arrived and it was cold charged £16.50 for my experience to say I was disappointed was an understatement will never use this place again

Initial service was very slow, stood for ages before being seated , the table had to be brought from upstairs , and it took ages to take our order . The pizza & garlic bread were ace , loaded fries were a bit of a mess

would have loved this place were it not for the fact that the ancient spirit of a worker decided to follow me home and began to terrorize my children. they have been hearing and seeing this spectre for the past 3 months now and i really dont know what to do. ive tried hiring an exorcist but to no avail. at first it was just knocking noises and writing on the condensation of the windows saying things like 'dolce', however now it has escalated to the point that the spirit is knocking over furniture and causing my two beautiful children to float in the air. the poor things are terrified, cant even look at a pizza anymore. i truly think there is no end to these horrors. burger was awesome though

First visit here for a couple of years and was really disappointed with the menu and service. Pizzas have changed from a traditional Italian style to more of the American type toppings. We had to ask waiters several times for drinks and accompaniments that were part of the starter menu and then we had a 40 minute wait before the main course arrived. Very disappointed because previous visits were very good.

Went for my Birthday party with family and Grandkids over twenty of us, the food was amazing,service very welcoming, place was spotless. Every plate was empty when we finished eating and everyone truly satisfied with what they had got. I would have no hesitation in recommending la Dolce Vita a truly amazing place to eat

Food good. However the sit in service was very bad. We stood in the cold while awaiting a table. No-one acknowledged us, no information on how long the wait would be. Surely service should be priority here. Manager really needed or at least someone who is aware of how important customers are.

I can't tell you what the food is like as we never got to experience it. My six year old and I were hungry and looking for somewhere to eat. A quick check on Google turned up this establishment, so we headed there. Walking in the door you're greeted with a 'Please Wait to be Seated' sign. So we waited and waited and waited some more. Eventually after really eyeballing a young waiter we got shown to our table and given a menu. We then waited an eternity with no sign of a waiter or waitress coming to take our order. The place wasn't even that busy. We put away our things, put on our jackets and walked out. Another Google search brought up Bellinis which was a 5 minute walk away. We walked through the door, shown to a table straight away and had our order taken very promptly. It was a disappointing experience. We may try again in the future.

Ordered a pizza and was told within the hour and it’s over an hour and still waiting. When rang up the girl said it’s in the que to make !!! Are u friggin serious.

One of the Best Burger and Pizza restaurants in Newry and Mourne. My favourite place to go out for food.

Up visiting and popped in for a bite to eat and we weren’t disappointed. Service is fast and friendly and the food was amazing. Would definitely recommend and will definitely be back again

Shocking service , where do I begin. Food order was along with drinks , we ordered two coke zeros and a jug of water the drinks came with two glasses for the cokes but none for the water we tried to get the waitresses attention with no success my boyfriend had to go up to the bar to ask for 2 more glasses, once the starters where lifted all hell broke loose . The table behind us who arrived 30 mins after us got their food before us getting very impatient we give it another 5 minutes and asked another waitress where are food was or how long it was going to take as we had been here 1 hour at this stage. Another 5 minutes passed and they arrived down again with our starters which we had already received 40 mins previous !!! Finally our food had arrived and whilst nice the whole experience was being let down by the shocking service. The waitress continued to avoid our table throughout our experience whilst asking tables behind us if everything was ok for them , we where being avoided at all cost whilst the floor staff where gathering behind the bar whilst looking very disinterested . Won’t be in a rush back to the restaurant !! Ps I didn’t appreciate the fact that the waitress tried to palm us off when we where going to pay with excuses maybe if she hadn’t of avoided us like the plague during our time in the restaurant this could have all been avoided. Not good.

We’ve been a couple times when it has been busy and waited about 30-40 mins. But this time we have been sat for 50 mins and 5 tables around us who all came in around 15-20 mins after us have got their food.

We had food delivered for a child’s birthday party. Excellent service when emailed to enquire immediate reply and LDV kept intouch until the event. The food was absolutely delicious and was very hot when delivered. Excellent service from the driver very friendly. Would highly recommend LDV Thankyou for the delicious food.

Pizza's pretty good, service and attendance is slow. Menu limited. Charge £1 extra for changes/additions to pizza toppings and you'd be hard pressed to see what they add when you get it

Food is amazing, I would recommend their signature burger with all toppings. Place is cossie. Prices are decent. Pizza is rich and great taste. If we want good burgers we go to this place even when it is 40km one way from our home.

Food was tasty and good portions. Staff lovely and helpful especially with the kids. Will definitely be back.

Can’t bare to even write this review as it forces me to relive my abhorrent experience. I fail to understand where this place finds staff so merciless , as to kill my only daughter. She asked to be sang happy birthday, i bit of a request but something most places would be willing to even try, especially for an 8 year old girl. Not the staff at La Dolce Vita Pizza, not at all. For when the last word left my daughters lips , the very last word she’d ever speak in her 8 years of life mind you, she was met with violence. Never before did i feel so helpless as i watched a staff member roll a pizza cutter across her small fingers before smashing her skull in with their fist. The doctors said she died instantly and didnt feel the pain. But call it mothers instinct or what you will, but those gurgles sounded painful to me. My baby died that day. The pizza was great I recommend the margarita. Very authentic Italian mouthfeel.

Absolutely disgusting food. Service was a joke had to wait 30 minutes before given menus then to order another 30 minutes before someone came out to take our order. Then when the food came out it was so unprofessionally done. 3 plates came out for 3 people and then 20 minutes after another 3 plates came out. Then the LAST plate that came out was the TODDLERS. That’s usually the first!!! Pizza was absolutely cremated and inedible and chips tasted like they’d been RE-FRIED and reheated. Service was disgusting too all young boys who just didn’t care. Wouldn’t let us split the bill evenly in half, when previously they would. The young boy said back “I just won’t allow it”. SO strange!!! You can split a bill anywhere??!! Weird, unprofessional and absolutely DISGUSTING 🤮 Gone down hill massively this place use aren’t as big as you once were, far far nicer elsewhere. If you can avoid going here then please do!!

Good place to take children as it’s pizza and burgers.Some of the pizza topping combos are a bit strange but you can ask them to make you anything you want really!When we visited you couldn’t book ahead but the wait for a table was fairly short.

Pizza express,Pizza Hut and all the other overpriced chains out there look to these guy because this is how it is done, This is by far the best quality,best staff,best Italian restaurant in the country. The quality of food was outstanding,the portion sizes were way above the stupid small overpriced portions in pizza express.we were made feel welcome from the moment we entered to the moment we left,the pictures speak for themselves,stay away from the overpriced ignorant pizza express chains come to La Dolce you will be in no way disappointed,well worth the 45min drive we will definitely be back.

We were party of 8 (4 adults & 4 kids) we were asked to sit at separate tables due to covid guidelines (despite the fact there was a birthday party at the adjacent tables with 16 people) after watching several tables beside us get seated and served before us. We asked could we place an order, an hour after being seated we still hadn’t received our starters, enquired as why and didn’t really get anywhere, 15 mins later our starters arrived (around 1hr and 15mins after being seated) once our starters were cleared our main course was served 15 minutes later and to top it off it came out in 3 separate lots with around 5 mins between each lots, we decided against desert, paid our bill - the starters and a coupon of fizzy drinks was deducted as per the earlier conversation on why we hadn’t received food after an hour, (decided not to tip) and left without any apologies or explanation from the management. Problems do happen but I think a little bit of communication would go a long way. On a plus side the food was good, but definitely not worth the wait!

My wife, 3 kids and I went today at 1pm. The service was awful. The server knocked over my sons glass of coke. Went over his clothes , seat and floor. The server cleaned the table and my wife cleaned his seat and floor. Mistakes happen but she didn't offer him a replacement drink or offer to take it off the bill. Plus the fact his clothes were stained with coke. My daughter was handed the wrong drink and my order was wrong as well. Amazing food....awful service.

Great food and service - can be a bit of a wait on the food. Every time we've been in it has taken so so long to get our food which is no good if you have young kids with you but if you're on no rush - it's worth the wait :)

It used to be a place where you could be sure that anything you order will be quite good. Not anymore. It is now a takeaway level. Really disappointing. Do not order any kebabs, hopefully the pizzas are still eatable. The rest is not.

A tad overrated in Newry. Build Your Own Burger was fairly standard. Dipping wedges was a nice twist for a side..was pleasantly surprised with them. The Brookie Dessert was a huge dissapointment: there was no Nutella included as advertised, a cheap melted chocolate was included instead. Don't know how they are getting away with that. Table service could have been more efficient also. Otherwise a pleasant atmosphere for a Sunday Evening

Terrible service, sat for 2 hours until severed. Rude waiting staff. No social distancing rules applied nor mandatory time limit enforced. Very disappointed. Forced to choose what to eat with very limited time to choose. Very disappointed. Asked for a milkshake and didn’t receive it until after the meal was finished and we had to go to the staff and request the milkshake again as well as basic cutlery. Overall food was not amazing, desert overdone and after the milkshake was finally received, we found it was poorly made. When we had to pay we were rushed to sort payment.

Have been attending this place since it opened... Food has always been next to none. Top quality and consistently delicious 👍.. 4.5 for quality and taste and friendly service also... Just more recent the wait times have sky rocketed from 30s to possibly an hour plus... Has been times where people have come in after my table of friends and have been served quicker which from a customer's point of view is frustrating... But can be over looked to the great food and delightful serving staff... Would recommend for a nice meal for a couple,a birthday meal ect....

We've always been regular customers of La Dolce Vita (particularly the take-away's) but the service we encountered with the restaurant recently was appalling. We arrived to the restaurant on a Saturday evening and the queue was out the door - we didn't have time to wait as we had an event so we went elsewhere. Still craving La Dolce Vita we decided to book ahead of the following weekend to ensure we had somewhere booked. I phoned during the week to book a table for six people. On the phone, the employee informed me they didn't take bookings for less than twelve people but that if we arrived we would be able to get seated. That was fine and I explained why we decided to phone ahead as the previous week the queue was really long so we just wanted to make sure we had a table sorted beforehand. The employee said then that he would definitely make a note in the diary to hold a table for six people for 7.30pm. We arrived on time and again there was a large queue out the door. We walked in as we assumed we had our table already inside. We explained to one of the employee's on the floor. She checked the diary and there was no note made but told us she would check with one of the girls upstairs. Another employee came out to us and explained again how they don't take bookings for less than twelve and I explained why the employee at the time of the phone call said he note down our booking. I explained that I realised it wasn't her fault at all but that we now had a party of people coming for food but had nowhere else booked as we were told our table would be held here. She said she would get the manager and after a few minutes returned with no manager and told us the manager said there's nothing they can do. For context, after this we went to two other venues in Newry to try to get food which were also booked out but they did try to accommodate us. Also other venues which we phoned were also doing their best to fit us in last minute, taking our phone numbers to give us a call when they had space. We completely understand that on the night we arrived lady who was chatting with us did nothing wrong and a simple mistake was made by the employee who took our booking (had he not said he would make a note in the diary we would have made other arrangements), but how the management handled the situation was truly disappointing. We love the food but the lack of care from the management team in this situation led to a terrible and dissatisfied customer experience.

Perhaps a bit pricey and we had a fair wait but nevertheless the pizzas are as good as pizzas can be and also the variety is excellent, I was torn between several things in the end but I eventually opted with the “pizza d’nonno” which hit the spot!

I had gotten Mexican rice with mince for a meal. I ended up getting food poisoning. Toilets were unsanitary floor was covered in 'spillage'. Decor was alright, staff were pleasant.

Pizza as is should be...really tasty so good I even ate the crust. My hubby loved the taco beef cheesy chips. Recommend the hot brookie dessert to share never had anything like it, it was so good! Only a slight negative staff not really attentive to customers, cleared our plates but never asked if we would like desserts. Had to try to get there attention as about 4 of them chatted around the bar area. Overall would give 4.5!

A fantastic place to eat with gorgeous food, friendly staff and a great atmosphere. This is a family friendly restaurant with a great kids menu and everything is very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit.

This restaurant is more than a Pizza Burger Bar. It has a range of starters and main courses as well as its trademark pizzas. The staff were quick, friendly and efficient and made our experience very enjoyable. The food was good, freshly prepared and nicely presented. There were all classes of customers, families with children, couples and oldies like us. Our table waitress was able to deal with our wine request and provide a bottle of Malbec from her personal knowledge without reference to a wine list. We will go again.

Slowest service in Ireland and the food very mediocre

Ate in this place this evening, waited 55 mins for food to arrive, frim it was ordered, two burgers, it seems an excessive amount of time, food was good , but was cold within minutes of arriving on the table as air conditioning was on full on cold above the table. Would not recommend due to the wait and ambuence but waitresses were very courteous.

Almost a 5, food is great, as are the staff. But can't book unless you have a party of 12? I have never heard anything so strange.

Visited with my Wife and kids,our server I think was called Derbhla,very pleasant girl.Our first visit here and found the place to be welcoming,very very clean and good food.I had lasagne and it was a healthy serving,no side salad or coleslaw I was surprised as that would be normally served with the dish.Chips where beautiful and lasagne was nice but just seemed to be lacking in taste ever so slightly.Would visit again.

Price was extremely shocking. £8 for the smallest starter platter. Pizza was burnt. Hard to get staffs attention. Just disappointed in general.
