I love this cafe. As local I can vouch for the take away coffee. Best in Westward Ho! Always steaming hot and strong enough. The guy who owns it is super lovely too.

We decided to have breakfast here this year as we could not get in Rockpool cafe. This was a bit of good luck as it turned out as we enjoyed it so much we have been several times during our stay. There are not many tables so it is advisable to book rather than turn up on spec. They offer small, Large and Extra Large breakfasts, including vegetarian versions. We all so far have had small and this includes 1 egg (fri/scram/poach) 1 bacon 1 sausage (delic) tomato (tin or fresh) beans toast n drink. Mushrooms and has brown extra. This cost £6. Very reasonable. The guy is really nice n friendly. The breakfast is the thing though. Really well cooked and not swimming in grease. We haven't had other meals here but just to say that the cakes look lovely.

Found on a blustery day and glad we did. Welcoming staff and great menu which was excellently priced. My daughter had the chicken nuggets child meal which at £3.95 was excellent and a really good portion and not your average frozen nuggets either. My husband had the gammon, egg and chips which also was brilliant and I went for a baguette. We will definitely return. Thank you

Restaurants now open after lockdown and these guys have got it right. Social distancing but still friendly and safe. They take your address for track and trace. Tables with plenty of space around. Hand sanitiser as you go in and by the loos. The food was delicious. 2 slices of smashed avocado on toast with poached eggs, 4 large American style pancakes with bacon and sausage, a vegetarian sausage in a soft roll and a bacon and egg bap. 2 coffees, fruit squash in kilner jar glasses with non removable straws for the kids and a can of pop. £22ish and we’ll worth it. We will be back.

I visited this cafe on a wet day, when my normal cafe on the green was full. The service here was excellent and luckily I was able to park directly outside. Another table were having a full afternoon tea that looked fantastic. I opted for a much more simple cream tea which was great except that the scones were a tadge on the dry side. However, very edible and sensibly sized portions. I will definitely visit again. Liked that there were magazines to look at.

We had a lovely lunch today at The main sail. There were 10 of us in our party, ranging from 16 months too 72. The 5 children loved the toys and kitchen play area. The children had the kids lunch meal, sandwich, crisps, fresh fruit, juice and 1/2 slice of cake. Lovely fresh bread for the sandwiches and beautifully presented. The children felt very grown up. They couldn’t decide which cake to have so the staff gave them a small piece of each cake. Nothing was to much trouble. The adults meals were just just as nice. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

If you like a snack, the selection of sandwiches, wraps and paninis are excellent, but love a coffee and cake, this tea room is just for you. The selection of cakes is amazing, from your usuals, such as carrot cake or a chocolate brownie, to the most enormous slice of Biscoff or Mars Bar Cake. All are made by the owner, on the premesies, and if you can't fit one in, take away is available. Be warned though, there is so much choice that you may need a slice of everything to go. They even do loyalty points, so going back for another slice becomes even easier!

What a great café, but at the end of the main shops so be careful not to miss it; we saw the notice on its wall from the car park. On timing, watch out because although it’s called a tea room it actually closes at 4pm, which may be around the time that you might like to have tea, though it is open for breakfast stuff and lunches, not just tea! The service was very friendly and the café was spotlessly clean. There were no flies or wasps at all (unlike many other places we have visited this week) but nevertheless all of the cakes are covered, which was really good to see. It has a really nice play kitchen and some other toys for children which is an imaginative touch. The cakes were superb and the drinks great. Now, the prices … well, very reasonable indeed. We had two cakes (one a half portion to help with watching the calories – and I’ve never seen a café offer that before) and two cups of tea, and the total was just over £5.50.

This is my second review of Main Sail. First time we didn’t manage to try the cake as too full from the ploughman’s but a quick visit for afternoon coffee gave us an opportunity to try the wonderful cakes. Service was friendly and swift and the selection of cakes was mouthwatering! Oooo what to choose. We both had blueberry and lemon and it was lush, huge portion, really fresh and moist which is definitely not the same experience as we’ve had in a couple other establishments in the village. Excellent coffee and fabulous homemade cakes make this recently opened cafe a “must visit place.” The place was spotless, the staff very friendly and the total bill for 4 people for drinks and more cake than we could eat was £16. A winning formula. If the slices of cake are too large they are happy to cut them in half for you. Excellent cafe to add to Westward Ho!’s great range of assorted eateries. We will be back!

A small cafe in the centre of the village. Suitable for all. We originally stopped by for some cake but had menu envy after seeing another customers ploughman’s. Service was impeccable, swift, attentive and friendly. The ploughman’s was lovely, beautifully fresh and very generous - slice of homemade quiche, ham and cheese, yummy chutney. Good enough for us both to proclaim ‘that’s the best ploughman’s I’ve ever had’! I can’t remember the exact price (sorry) but 2 very generous ploughman’s and 2 soft drinks was under £13 - we couldn’t have our cake as we were too full - but my goodness they looked amazing! Again very generous portion sizes (we were ogling at everyone else’s).

Lovely cafe offerings many scrumptious delights. On this first visit only had tea and cake. As an avid fan of cake eating I was well happy with my large slice of Malteser cake. Almost had to admit defeat but managed to finish it. Apparently you can ask for a small slice which I am sure would have been sufficient. Not sure the words ‘can I have half a slice of cake’ are in my vocabulary. Looking forward to trying other menu items!
