I went there following Jay Raynor's positive review in The Guardian. I have to say its even better than he said it was. The rice and three was excellent, beautifully cooked and belly filling. The staff were lovely and the prices unbelievable. If you are in the area, you must go there. I'm going back as often as I can

Family owned restaurant which offers traditional Pakistani cuisine. You can sit in or grab a takeaway. It's a little hidden gem. Nicely cooked food and decent portions too. Nicely spiced curries and fresh chapattis or Naan bread. Kebabs on offer too. Recommended if you're in the area and need a curry or kebab fix.

Thursday 13th February, just had my first experience of Maida grill and I can only say it lives up to all the 5 star reviews. The food was amazing,the service just as good. Bill Saunders.

Came across this by chance, I was at Salford hospital, and after a very long tiring day just wanted some hot food! So googled eateries and this takeaway popped up, the reviews are what got me inside to begin with, as you walk in your met by the warm smell of spices and gorgeous aromas! The place is quite basic inside, but it’s clean and warm enough to sit down and enjoy your meal! It’s perfect if you’re not wanting to go anywhere fancy but want 5* food! The Staff are very polite and welcoming, they looked after me and my husband very well, we had the lamb curry, 1 rice, 2 chapati, lamb chop starter, mixed kebab on naan with salad sauces, and 2 drinks, all this for £29 what a bargain, it was my first but won’t be my last keep up the hard work guys your home made food and hospitality was 10/10 can’t wait to come back.

Absolutely quality. The food is unreal, the service is great and the restaurant is spotless. Can’t recommend Maida Grill House highly enough.

This is a hidden gem in Manchester/Salford! I love the food here! I’ve eaten here 5 times after accidentally coming across it recently. Every dish has been delicious and the staff are very friendly. The interior is basic, but that doesn’t bother me as I’m there for the food⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Visited Maida Grill House for the first time over Xmas after reading Jay Rayner's review earlier in the year. Wow. Food is wonderful - The lamb chops were superb and the three curries with rice were terrific, with the Keema Peas a stand out. The potato paratha was fabulous. Patrons were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Will be back. Highly recommended. A+++

I've only had stuff off the grill but it's 12 out of 10. Flavours, spice, service. Perfect every single time The chops are out of this world as is the chicken tikka nann sandwich. Also the tarimand sauce is to die for

One of the best chicken biriyanis I have ever eaten. Loved the chickpea curry too which I had on top. Very authentic and tasty. Excellent service. An absolute gem of a place this. Highly highly recommend. Would love it 6 stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Ok so we zoomed across town from the Hockney exhibition at The Factory to have Sunday supper here. Jay Rayner (son of Claire) had reviewed the place recently according to Cornerhouse (ace human on the left) so that was the source of the foodie trip. The eponymous Maida served us and told me her name means ‘dining’ in Kashmir. She was super warm and friendly and accommodating of our group booking. Especially with awkward young mouths to feed. Anyone who can make food that my seven year old will eat — cheese chips — in a restaurant is alright in my book. The legendary food format of rice and 3 has its origin story in Manchester and that is what we were after. I had the lamb, the chicken korma and the aubergine vegetarian and they were all tasty as. I was also over the moon to get a Fanta drink I had never had before of two of my favourite flavours — pineapple and grapefruit. (Or had Coca-Cola just put their Lilt stock into a new can?) The price is such good VFM, as you knew I was going to write. The interesting thing about the price is though, while I was chatting with Maida at the till, the others were trying to remember the scientific name of the phenomenon when two visual images blend to become one IE this red and white Xmas bauble when span became pink. The Doppler Effect? Whatever is called it was magical and wonderful and really complimented our rating out experience at Maida’s 😋

I went here on my way to a Christmas party, Had the special of the day, good price and probably the best most authentic curry I have had. I will recommend and return. What a find!!!

Top quality authentic food at remarkably excellent value for money prices. I’m lunching on the Friday Specials Menu where you can choose 3 from 6 dishes including a couple that are vegetarian to accompany the rice. Great, friendly service; the restaurant is very clean and tidy - a real pleasure to dine here. Thank you Maida.

Maida Grill delivered an exceptional meal to our door. The rice was perfectly cooked—light and fluffy—while the paratha was fresh and delicately light. We tried both the meat and vegan rice and three, and both were outstanding. Each dish was well-spiced, served hot, and full of flavour. A beautifully satisfying delivery we’ll definitely order again!

Truly delicious food, every time. And super reasonably priced in my opinion. Personally recommend Aloo Saag, Tarka Daal, Lamb Masala & Keema Naan. Manchester & Salfords 'hidden' gem!!!!!

I stopped in for a takeaway, the food was excellent, the service was good. The meal itself was good value for money. I would eat here again or get a takeaway.

Waited too long before I was served. Stood at the counter for ten minutes without any acknowledgement. But when I was served everyone was polite. Food was delicious though

Food is very homely. My kebab got slightly burnt and could do with extra salt. Service hygiene standards can be improved. One feedback: train people serving food to hold the bowl of curry from below (use cloth if hot) rather than hold from top and dip finger into the curry. Spotting a dirty finger tip going into curry right before eating isn’t a pleasant sight. Update: Visited this place a few more times, can confirm the food is as it should be. Tasty, homely and fresh! Brownie point for the happy man with a smile receiving guests.

Mixed grill kebab over rated . Meat grilled so was dry no flavour LIFE GRILLED OUT OF IT . Nan bread tasted of flour not cooked properly . 4/5 People running round like head less chickens and producing rubbish food . I would suggest a take away here. Food was delicious. We had chickpeas and rice along with chicken masala. Quantity was sufficient for an individual. There are a lot of nonveg options. Overall the place is value for money.

Nice tasty homely food and very good service. Atmosphere is a bit basic but fairly clean. My son enjoyed his last naan kebab here before heading back to Netherlands today.

Incredible food, had the rice and three, and honestly the Dahl was my favourite. The chai was perfect too, and the parathas were the best I've ever tasted. I sneaked a taste of my sister's onion bhaji and that was crispy and sweet. My brother, who's vegetarian, was very happy with the vegan options.

You won’t get a better rice and three than here. Wide variety of excellent daily specials, good value, and a decent enough (if “takeaway with seats”) environment if you want to eat in. Lovely team too.

It has taken us ages to get around to coming here, and hopefully like many we were prompted by Jay Rayner's wonderful review. We had one if the best curries we've had in years here. Across our two rice and three orders, we enjoyed lamb massala, karahi lamb, keema and peas, and aubergine and potato. Our empty plates followed 10 minutes later. Absolutely delicious. And only £8.50 each. Bargain. Wonderful place, very friendly owners, the menu changes daily and this is a fantastic addition to Salford/Manchester's rice and three scene. 2nd time I've eaten here and will be coming back. Really friendly staff , clean premises and pleasant atmosphere. Food is tremendous, I can highly recommend the samosas( both meat and vegetable ), seek kebabs , lamb masssala , chicken korahi and chapattis and garlic naan. Really reasonable prices. Tremendous, highly recommend.

I am sorry to say that this place has been overrated we ordered mix grill and two currys and got very disappointed kids didn't even touch the food kbab was like eating plastic and curry tasted not nice

Food is always great, plenty of meat in the Karahi and biryani, breads were beautiful. The burger was superb, adding a bit of salt on the chips would be the only feedback

The best place to go when craving or wanting to try out Pakistani cuisine. The flavours might be elevated by friendly staff but I am not letting that affect how delicious the food truly is. No fuss, easily order at the counter and they bring it to you. If visiting on a cold day, their chai is pretty great as well.

Love this place. The staff are so friendly and the fella that runs the place is a great cook. The veggie samosas are delicious, chicken biryani is so authentically tasty and the chicken tikka is unreal. Prices are super cheap and all of the food is great quality ingredients and tastes so fresh.

Great value, mix grill was great, tasty lamb chops too. Read a bad review about the garlic nan, but it was absolutely fine! The food is so delicious and to some extent you do get the authentic tastes in the food irrespective of whatever dish you are eating. The service is excellent as well whether it comes to serving or assisting in anything. The atmosphere is quite nice you can enjoy your food in the comfortable environment.

This is curry heaven! All the dishes are original in taste and authentic. Reasonably priced which is a bonus. I am Pakistani and have lived in Manchester for years and tried all the others.......this is the best.

Massively disappointed. Didn’t live up to the hype by reviewers and recommendations. Seekh kebabs were ridiculously over cooked and dry. Chicken tikka was undercooked and partially raw.!! Lamb chops again were over cooked and DRY, wafer thin.. not what we see on review clips of succulent juicy lamb chops… one of the reasons we visited was because of that… Naans we’re good tbh, but it’s a high price to pay if the only good thing was the naan bread. Service was warm and welcoming, but it’s the food that fills the belly not the smiles.. All in all, it won’t be a venue we’ll be making the repeat trip to. Shame really, being a family run establishment I really wanted this to be a future favourite, turned out to be the exact opposite.

Was randomly driving past and decided to try this spot! They were really welcoming and the service really stood out to me, so thanks! The food itself tasted like authentic, home-cooked Pakistani food. Wasn’t too heavy or oily either, with a perfect portion size. Prices are very reasonable considering the taste and serving. Could possibly do more to improve the ambience maybe with some light music in the background ?

Foods nice and flavourful. But lacking that extra spicy kick. If it has a spicy option. It would be nice. Tasted like a fantastic supermarket curry.

Gorgeous curry, fairly priced and plenty of variety with different specials each day of the week. 3 curries and rice on one plate for £8.50 is enough to fill 2 people with a naan. Loads of sides to pick from and they offer standard chips / nuggets etc as kids meals. Service is pretty quick and the staff are always friendly, polite and happy to help. Chilled atmosphere and open long hours so you could nip in on your lunch break or go for tea and sit down to enjoy your food.
