God kinesisk mat på Queensway - and anbefales spesielt!

This restaurant is now part of the fabric of Queensway. Although we used to eat in the restaurant relatively frequently, we tend to use the place as a takeaway more these days. No particular reason, just our habit. But we keep going back for the quality of the food, as it has never disappointed. We particularly go for beef with ginger, chicken with cashew nuts and of course the duck. The price is good for what you get, takeaway service is quick and there is a seating area to use while you wait.

I travel from Ruislip into Queensway just to go this restaurant ( 25 round trip). I have been going here for 15 years and have never had a bad meal. I recommend the Squid in spicy salt and chilli and the Mixed meat hotpot with beancurd. The Steamed Seabass with pork and Chinese mushroom is also very good if you like fish.

Mixed seafood starter is very nice. You get a variety of deep fried items, including a scallop in-between cucumber slices, which was great. Mains - got the mixed chow mein, large pieces of fish and tasty sauce. The best though was the 'traditional paper wrapped spare ribs'. Just the meat, no bones, cooked in greaseproof paper and cut open to reveal nicely cooked pieces of pork with hoi sin sauce.Hot and sour soup was nothing really to write home about, the only thing I tried that wasn't awesome. Bit bland, compared to what I've had before.Service is friendly - the owner (older guy) was happy, singing along and very attentive. Got hand cleaning cloths after each course and some fortune cookies at the end. Also, when we were waiting for our table, we could sit down by the door and browse the menu.Wouldn't get the house wine. My bad.

All were well done, duck very meaty, boneless. Served with steamed rice, jasmine tea, a couple of cokes. See my pics. This is a very reliable old-standing Queensway Chinese restaurant, service is always very pleasant, interior comfortable and relaxed. We paid c £16 a head incl the service charge, very good value.

I visited both Magic Wok and Four Seasons during my stay in London, and I would say that the roast duck at Magic Wok is comparable to Four Season's. Definitely two of the best roast duck I have had in my life. In terms of the other dishes, I find that Magic Wok was more reasonably priced and yummier. Service wise, Magic Wok would win hands down, as the staff were really attentive. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in London.

I came here to compare Magic Wok's roast duck to Four Seasons that is very highly recommended. I have to say that I actually prefer Magic Wok's roast duck. It is not as sweet so you can taste the other flavours in the marinade. Also, it is not as ridiculously crowded as Four Seasons. Both places offered nice chunky cuts of duck. And you will not be disappointed at either place.

I stumbled into Wagic Wok by chance with my 5 year old daughter. The restaurant looked nothing special from the outside, but half of the guests was Chinese, which usually is a very good sign. Service was quick and effective, and the staff were all very friendly to my daughter. We tried the springrolls, chrispy aromatic duck with pancakes and honey barbecued pork with rice. The duck and spring rolls were good, but the pork was amazing and well worth another visit. Portions were fairly large and the prices were reasoable. A glance at the other tables made me want to come back with a bigger party and try a lot of the other dishes on offer. My dauhter had fried ice cream for dessert, a very big portion, but she loved it. We have been going to Magic Wok for 10 years now fairly regularly. Food is always excellent, crispy aromatic duck is the best we've tried in London. Service is always good and quick (in 10 years only once was the food delayed). Yes it gets crowded, and yes the decor is nothing special. But if you are into Chinese food this is the place to go! Very good portions as well and for a very good price! Highly recommend it!

I see that a lot of comments refer to the price. This maybe true for the average prices on this street but, as I always say, 'You get what you pay for!' I found the place welcoming and the staff very attentive. The menu had a wide selection to offer; perhaps all of your usual favourites. I chance a Chinese local rice wine but this may not be what you would like so don't try it unless you've had it before. Worth a visit.

The restaurant is small, modestly decorated with tables quite closely packed together, so it's a bit tricky to get to your table when it's busy, which it was when we arrived ! It's a very popular restuarant (there was a queue of people waiting for a table and several people waiting for takeaways so the area around the front door was a bit crowded) but fortunately we had a reservation. The menu is extensive, it includes a wide variety of dishes including jellyfish, eel and even shark, and the wine list was reasonable, although we thought the wines were a bit on the expensive side. The food we ordered was delicious and the portion sizes were good. The customer service was also good, although they seem to add 12.5% service onto the bill automatically, which we were happy to pay on this occassion, but we consider it should be at the customer's discretion.

Restaurants come and go but Magic Wok has stayed put in Queensways for many many years. It is an old time favorite on mine. Good value food, very tasty Chinese good. Friendly staff and I always marvel how they remember their guests. This isn't a fancy restaurant (then again Queensway is not a destination known for fancy eateries) and it has no pretense, but for a stretch of road where every other doorway is a place to eat you can't go wrong with Magic Wok and won't break the bank either. It is popular with locals and can get very busy in the evenings. Enjoy :)

This is another of our old-time fav places for roast duck and aromatic crispy duck when we used to stay in London 10 years ago. We were fairly confident that they would still be there this time around when we were back in London for a holiday. We missed the food so much that we went there for lunch and dinner on the same day so that we could have both the roast duck and aromatic crispy duck! In our opinion, Magic Wok has the best roast duck along that stretch of Chinese restaurants. We used to go to Four Seasons, but find that the quality at Magic Wok much better - more succulent and moist duck.If we had the space in our luggage, we would bring a whole duck home!

We were looking for a Chinese restaurant on Queensway and settled on Magic Wok after seeing the wide variety on the menu. We were quickly seated and noticed the place was already quite busy. There was a good combination of both Chinese and non-Chinese people eating there, which is always reassuring. Our order was taken quickly and we had our drinks in no time. Our food did not take long to arrive at all. Our starters, vegetable spring rolls, were very nice. Our main courses followed soon after. We ordered Lemon Chicken, Chicken Curry and Egg Fried Rice. The Chicken Curry in particular was very good, perhaps the best I've ever had. It was quite spicy, which is not something I've found before, and had a great, strong taste. The Lemon Chicken and rice also did not disappoint, and the portions were fairly generous. The décor was good but not great. The restaurant was a bit dark in places and in places was in need a bit of work. The service was friendly and very expedient. The restaurant isn't fine dining, but is very good for what it is. It offers very good food at reasonable prices with good, quick service to boot. We would certainly eat here again.

We had been to the cinema in Whiteleys and chose this restaurant as we were walking by, so we hadn’t made a reservation in advance. We are so pleased we did - the Chinese food was authentic and excellent. The restaurant was full when we entered (it’s a good sign that a restaurant is popular) but only had to wait about 5 minutes for a free table. The service was polite and attentive. There were also many Chinese people eating there – also another good sign. The dishes on the menu were ones that westerners would expect to see but there were also many which we would consider more exotic dishes enjoyed by the Chinese and we would certainly try these on a return visit. We started by sharing the Aromatic Crispy Duck. For mains we chose Beef in Black Oyster Sauce and Kung Po Chicken with a single portion of rice. The portion sizes were generous. We also had a bottle of red wine and sparkling water. The total bill for 2 people was £66 (including service charge) which we thought was excellent value for this quality of meal so close to Central London. We would go again.

We have been coming to this great restaurant for many years and it never fails to please. Although the decor is not too salubrious, the food and service are great. The menu is extensive and caters for both Chinese and British diners but the food is authentic and very well prepared. The roast duck and aromatic crispy duck and crispy roast pork (siew yok) are excellent and for the more adventurous try the grilled minced pork and squid with salted fish and also the steamed seafood tofu and steamed herbal Emperor's Chicken. Hugely deserving a rosette for consistency, Magic Wok is a restaurant I have used for years and brought many happy consequent regulars. Cantonese Chinese in genere, the roast meats that hang on the shop front are about the best on these shores. Duck, Pork and Soya Chicken the mainstay of these meats are a meal by themselves eaten on a serving of rice. Having this on its own is a hearty lunch and will set you back under £8.00. Ginger and Spring Onion Lobster on Noodles an extrvagance here is also wonderful as is steamed Scallops. They can be quiet weekdays but evenings and weekends tell a different story. Bustling, loud and squeezed in, this eatery is great for family and friends but not for romance. Service, manic but effecient, Prices, friendly.

I love this little restaurant. The menu is huge, which allows for much choice. What I enjoy most is that you can order many small dishes in the region of £2 to £3 each. Yes it's tired around the edges, it has "classic" Chinese service and unsmiling staff but this place offers real Chinese food. I have travelled extensively in Asia and spent lots of time in HK and this food would not be out of place in there.

As it says in the title, this is the place to bear when it comes to authentic and deliciously made bubble tea. The service is always fast and I don’t think I can emphasise just how wonderful the drinks are. You get a lot of drink for what you buy plus there is just something special about the presentation of the drink and the way it is made that stays in your mind long after you finish the bubble tea. I particularly recommend the fruit teas, with some drinks it comes with fresh fruit in the drink that you can eat after! Always refreshing and sweet

¿Alguien vino a preguntarme qué estaba esperando? Me pareció extraño. Ella me preguntó si estaba esperando a la principal antes de empezar a comer. ¿No es extraño? Solo esperé unos 2 minutos. Vaya.
