Maes Manor Hotel in Caerphilly

Last night we attended the Beyoncé night and Mike & the team treated us like royalty! They really couldn’t have done anymore for us! ALL 3 courses were PERFECT & extremely tasty! The turkey dinner was especially amazing & certainly plentiful! The tribute act was AMAZING! and we certainly carried on the night afterwards at the disco! Make sure you get booking for your Xmas work dos, occasions or just for a boogie😉 You certainly won’t regret it & will be guaranteed a FABULOUS evening!

Both myself and my husband celebrated our wedding on the 22nd November 2024 What can I say but absolutely 5 star treatment, Odett and her team could not have made our day more perfect. The entrance to the hotel was stunning dressed for Christmas making the perfect impression on entering. Nothing was to much trouble for any of the staff. We booked a meal for 21 of our guests the night before, every course arrived piping hot, not rushed making for a very pleasant evening before the main event. Our wedding could not have more perfect odett along with the cutesy co, created the most perfect surroundings incorporating a few extra personal touches we asked for, we could not have asked for more. From start to finish we were in complete safe hands. The rooms were clean and comfortable admittedly they could do with a make over,to refresh but on the whole a great place to hold an event. Thankyou to all the staff for making our day so special

Came for a Halloween wedding. The venue was outstanding. I even forgive the wait staff for taking my unfinished drink for the table when I was at the toilet.

Lovely weekend stay, food was out of this world, room was lovely and comfy.

Lovely setting, ok service. Rooms very very dated and in need of repair/ refurbishment. Despite this, I would stay again probably 🤷

Had a meal with friends in the restaurant. We had to wait a while for our meals to be served, and 2 of our dishes was served with a side cup of peas, which were to be poured onto the slate plates, this proved to be very messy as the peas would roll off the slate! However, my meal of gammon with egg, peas and chips proved to be extremely tasty, and definitely worth the wait. Would highly recommend.

Had Sunday lunch there today 5/5/24 and it was excellent, fresh and hot cooked lovely and plenty of vegetables as well, The staff were very attentive and were quick to seat us and serve.

Sunday lunch for a 90th birthday party. Room was sparse,mixed bag of tables.Seat covers were badly stained and covered in hairs. No condiments on the table, no wine glasses although wine was pre ordered. Meat was OK,not great. Roast potatoes were hard,carrots were mush. Gravy was universal and like wallpaper paste so thick. Additional veg was cabbage and frozen peas and green beans,very stingy portions. Service was poor,slow and very young staff who are not trained to a very high standard. Should have paid attention to the top table guests.Bar area is in need of refurbishment, cold,sparse and uninviting. The whole place needs updating and tlc. Hand dryers in the toilets are rusty and archaic. Such a shame for a lovely manor house in beautiful surroundings.

Nice Sunday roast dinner and lovely setting but place lacked atmosphere.. and heat! Could make a bit more effort over the little details like water and glasses on the table, offering drinks and tea and coffee as part of the table service. Seems to cater for larger functions not individual diners and smaller groups hence only 3 stars.
