Madras Cottage in North Lanarkshire

We ordered a Chicken kebab, a Shish kebab, and a portion of chips. The kebabs were both ok, but basically just ok. The chips were very poor though. They had a very soft texture and no crispiness to them at all. Almost as if they had been reheated in a microwave. I’ve had currries from here before, and they were good, so i think i’ll stick with that in future.

Two curries and One Veg. Pakora. £31.00!! Extremely expensive. Pakora good. Curries almost inedible. VERY sweet, almost like Sweet and Sour sauce. Very little chicken and lamb. Naan was more like a chapati. I wouldn’t go to Madras Cottage again.

This is the best Indian in Wishaw by far! Always the one I order from. When you order over the phone it is usually ready to be collected within 5/10 minutes and staff are all so lovely and chatty. Donner pizza is to die for! Defo reccommend

Their delivery driver blocked my drive making it difficult to park my car When asked to move they got verbally abusive and threatened to hit me I gave as good as I got but when they surrounded my 80 year old Mum and threatened her and verbally abused her I had to call the police Just letting any future potential customers know what might be knocking on their door! I did call the shop to let them know about their threatening abusive driver but nothing was done about it.

Great food and the staff have always been friendly. Went in to order a pizza, which was cooked from fresh in literally a few minutes. Very impressive. I would say it's the best takeaway in Wishaw. Shahbaz n the boys really know how to keep the customers happy.

Food is always good and the staff are friendly and helpful. Price wise this is also reasonable compared to others in Wishaw. Pizza is also good.

Just got home with our meal. Wow I could feed the whole street. Beautiful dinner. Tasted great meat was cooked to perfection. Great staff great atmosphere. Thank you all

We have had several delightful meals but were so shocked and disappointed with our last meal which was delivered to our home that we will not be returning any time soon. 1) The Korma Sauce was so thin that it was watery and the grease floated on top 2) The Vegetable Pakora, although appearing golden and crispy from the outside had a revolting mushy uncooked tasteless paste on the inside 3) One of the Plain Naan Breads was the biggest we had ever seen but had a enormous hole in the centre where clearly a very burnt part had been removed It was too late at night to phone and complain and expect a replacement delivery. 4/10 for effort Madras Cottage Wishaw you have lost a customer (a family of four).

Always a great meal and never any complaints. First class and open viewing cooking. Fast and responsive deliveries. Munchie Boxes are always super loaded.

Lovely family meal and with a couple of extras through in. Pizza is fab. Salad is not so great. Very busy so need to order and collect.

Used to get out of here all the time but stopped as there was always something wrong with the order called them this evening and gave them a try but true to form ordered chicken tikka kebab Chips And a portion of green salad no onions Kebab came no sauce salad looked as if it had been sitting all weekend and there was pineapple in it So it will be a long time before i order again

If in Wishaw could do a lot worse than visit Madras Cottage as there Pizza Pakora and Curries are the best in town. All food is made in front of you fresh and to your taste and as they offer a delivery service you don't need to get our your chair as its there quickly and warm. Well done Madras Cottage

Reasonable prices, good customer service. Dishes always taste good, maybe this isn't the highest quality, but if you are hungry, this is the good option to spend couple pennies. My favourite takeaway in Wishaw.

Call home delivery , wait the usual 20 -30 mins, on arrival chips missing from order , call to inform shop , was told not charged for chips , but price different from menu to delivery £6.00 , so obviously I was charged for chips, was told they'll be right down, 40 mins later still no chips, another call to shop, was told driver had left ages ago, another 20 mins chips turn up, dinner totally ruined , shop and driver didn't seem to care, got the money tough luck, food is good but customer service is poor poor

No complaints about the food, it's excellent and the portions are decent. By far my favourite Wishaw takeaway.

Got a meat pizza it cost £9 for a 12 in delivery drive tried to take my pound change so I got him told the pizza tastes like nothing floor scrapping and it's cold I tasted I bit and sat it down to the dog who we call dyson he hovers up everything but not this he left half of it first time ever stay well back from this dump try aisa tandoori Newmains night and day

By far the best Indian takeaway in Wishaw foods great prices are great and the staff are friendly and very helpful willing to go that extra mile to cater to your needs they also do party packages to cater for your special occasions may it be a birthday or anniversary party 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for everything

Waited one hour and forty minutes for a home delivery last Friday evening. After three phone calls meal was eventually delivered. Pakora was edible but cold,Lamb Patia had hardly any lamb but plenty of sauce which were both cold. Boiled rice was a fair portion but also cold. Naan breads were very thin and not very good.Will never eat anything from this takeaway restaurant.

Well worth a visit. Never have to wait too long to get ur meal at a reasonable price. Worth checking you get what you order. Chicken pakora portions not always great and sometime meal option portions can be skimpy with chosen meat dish

Bought a meal day the day before we left to go on holiday. Very satisfied, good prices and tasty food. Not much chicken in Korma tho.

Can't fault madras in any way one of the best in Lanarkshire friendly staff great prices order from here at least once a week always fast delivery pipping hot food

The best calzone in lanarkshire I usually have a mixed korma calzone an is excellent tried other places but no one beats this it opened planed so you can see it being freshly made

Got delivery tonight and it came with rice from the night before, when we called to complain the guy told us yes SORRY that was the rice from the night before and should have never been delivered that was for the bin , when we called again to see where our money was they eventually came with the money but £4 short and we called again we were threatened!!! PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU BUY FROM THIS SHOP

Best takeaway food caters well for vegetarians friendly staff always chatty and rembers customers likes.

Used to use Madras Cottage regularly, were very loyal customers. Bought a munchie box one night & had it delivered, how ever when it arrived it had about (literally) 3 strips of kebab meat & hardly any chips, also asked for cheese over the whole lot & there was hardly any of that! Their portion sizes used to be great but have more than halved. We don't like to moan so we phoned up & said about it in a nice manner, the guys attitude became stinking! He knew who it was through address so makes it worse that we used them a lot and they still didn't care in the slightest! He said he watched the guy put it together & there was plenty, we hadn't touched it since it arrived & were willing to take it back up to show him.. He said he would send the stuff which was missing down in a box (didn't really want it but he sent it anyway), which arrived 45 mins later & was freezing! I literally live a few streets away. We binned the lot as we were too hungry to wait & were put off by his attitude & phoned else where... Even at this, we thought it would've been a one off, maybe a new member staff. So We phoned tonight as nowhere else would have been open to find they have blocked our number from calling!! Total immature way to run a "business". Obviously can't handle a wee bit of constructive critisism. Definitely won't be back & don't recommend it to anyone

How many cooks do you need to spoil pakora? It probably took 5 or 6 to cook, package and give me my food. For some reason it is always busy. I have used it twice and thought it was crap both times.

This is my favourite Indian restaurant in the area. It's of an ample size, and does a variety of menus, my favourite being the lunch menus, you can choose which price you want, there's different options of set menus to choose from.The chicken chasni is simply the best I've tasted, it's delicious!My sister and I often dine here and have never been disappointed, we keep going back for more.Totally recommend if you haven't tried, it is expensive at dinner time, but the lunch menus are very fairly priced.

Stopped off here on the way home and walked in and the floor had lose food along the bottom, i do know this food outlet is always busy but what so many staff in shop they need to keep up with cleaning, What put me off the most was there was a kids behind the counter , really he should not have been there playing with his mobile and talking to the 2 girls, not sure why they were there as all they seem to do is talk to staff rather than the customers, Overall the food is lovley but gloves should be wore when the girls are touching the food and mobile phones should not be anywhere near as they answer the phone and take money....

The food is excellent But it is over priced!Its a hit or a miss at times i thinks!Some times the food is amazing Other times it seems rubbery as if over cooked or re heated!Try it for yourself!

I got a delivery from here, when it got it was really cold, so I just heated it up, but then I found hairs in it, I got put of from eating Mathis so I phoned down and the manager was being cheeky saying that there's no-one working in the shop with black hair, I knew there was so I went down with the food, and said to time about it after phoning 3 times I finally got a refund and went elsewhere

Busy wee place but serves up the best Indian food in Wishaw. I would'nt go anywhere else. So any passers through I recommend it to you...

wow, was this place busy! !! it was non stop from entering the premises and it didn't stop. this was my first visit. food was good, really tasty. I look forward to trying other dishes, will certainly be back.

I had a spicy chicken pizza and a mixed pakora from here last night and they were both delicious. As a lover of spicy food, I was going to ask for extra chilli on the pizza, but am now glad I didn't as it had a right kick to it and was delicious. Their pakora sauce is the best i've ever tasted and the pakora itself was lovely and fresh. Will definitely be back!

Best Indian takeaway ever.I've worked my way through the full menu and never had a bad meal!.Their South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken is amazing and their calzone's are the best I've ever eaten! Highly recommended.

Dropped in last week and orderd 1 hoggie wrap and pakora and it was good but shame they never put much kabbab meat on it..... but the week before we bought a munch box it was the £8 one and the amount inside would have feed about 5 people and there was only 3 of us. its always busy and there is 3 women who serve but one shouts the orders !!

Extremely over priced!! £8 for a tiny curry? You get better value everywhere else. The man at the counter was so rude. A customer should always be treated nicely...we're paying after all! Looked uninterested and didnt help me at all when I was asking about the different menu options which was a shame.

The spice chicken pizza is amazballs and i am a weirdo when it come to eatting meat out a take away. The staff are so friendly and chatty. A big 5 starts to yous all :-)

If you are going to have an open plan kitchen it can't be visibly dirty and people wiping there nose on the side of their sleeve. Awful!!! Served by a nice man but just couldnt help feel slightly disgusted! I had already ordered when I saw all that but the food was satisfactory. Quite expensive: chicken tikka pakora was something like £7/8...much more than I have seen elsewhere. The place was freezing cold, should have some sort of heating so customers arent shivering! Generally ok for a takeaway place

Stopped here for takeaway around 5pm on Saturday and they were not that busy on arriving to the takeaway place young lad served me very friendly but was shocked to see the way the women spoke to staff when there was customers around (telling them what to do ) and the way she spoke was just not needed, i wonder how they put up with her. Really bad for business when someone acts like this round customers..The guys that cook and help make the food are a friendly bunchOverall the food is always lovely from this place and its cooked n front of you....

It is what it is. As late night takeaway joints go, this is one of my favourites. Granted, I'm usually drunk when I eat here, but on surveying the cold leftovers sober in the morning, I'd still finish the pizza for breakfast. Also, the boys that work there are always very friendly and willing to recommend dishes. Best after pub food in town.

food was cold on receipt, £5+ for a pizza a tramp would not have picked out a bin to eat, order also wrong, very very poor would definitely not recommend this take away, in fact would strongly suggest to stay clear of this place unless you want ripped off for cold nasty food

Great Indian take away, every time I go in the place always is always busy-which I think is always a good sign but it can mean you may need to wait for your food. I,ve not yet had a meal from here that I haven't enjoyed. The staff are friendly and the place is hectic as you watch them make up the orders.... I highly recommend this place

When arriving you can see the staff making the food and there are so many staff moving around and there a friendly bunch. The food was amazing but i felt that the donner meat was a bit dry and seem to have been left a wile. Over all was good for 2 large hoggie wraps
