Had Sunday lunch there , it was deeply disappointing. An, at best, average roast but with grim meat and served stone cold. Add in rude staff, tense ambience and grotty surroundings , it’s really not worth the cost. When there are so many fabulous Sunday lunch spots in london there is no reason to choose this one. Mothering Sunday and the restaurant was not quite half full, speaks for itself. I’m not surprised !

Easily one of the best meals we have ever had in London. I’ve wanted to go here for years and it exceeded any form of expectation I had. Simple, but utterly delicious and perfectly seasoned. Impeccable service, and the food was out of this world. Home cooked and made with so much love. We had the olives and homemade focaccia bread, then the prawns and mushrooms to start. The prawns were unreal. Absolutely faultless. We then had chicken schnitzel and porchetta for mains, with some roast potatoes as a side. Again, faultless mains. The salted chocolate tart for dessert was something else! My goodness! Perfectly balanced flavours - which is tough to do on a chocolate tart. The apple frangipane tart was also absolutely divine. All topped off with a gorgeous bottle of wine and the most fantastic front of house service. Cannot wait to bring friends and family for a Sunday lunch!!

My in-laws had come into London from several hours away just to have Sunday roast with us. We had booked weeks in advance at Madame Pigg and were looking forward to the meal. When we arrived, we were the only ones in the venue (we only saw one other table being seated later on). We sat, ordered drinks, and then placed our food orders. 30-40 minutes later, the waiter came by to tell us that the kitchen was closing, and that they couldn't serve us. When we asked why, the waiter mentioned something about the chef having been injured. Concerned about the chef's health, we asked what happened and was told that the chef had some sort of burn(?) incident with gravy the prior day and only now determined he couldn't continue. While deeply sympathetic for the chef's injuries, we were turned out at about 2:30p without any food and with no real prospect of finding an alternative arrangement last minute. They should've called off service on Saturday when the incident happened and given us a shot at finding alternate arrangements. Instead, my in-laws spent most of their day traveling to London for a meal that never materialized. They did not make any meaningful conciliatory gestures, such as inviting us back with some measure of complimentary food or wine. Really bad judgment and evidence that they're willing to play fast and loose with the guests that entrust them with their plans.

The food is amazing no doubts! However your staff should be able to handle racism episodes better. My friend was verbally attacked by an evil woman when she was enjoying her meal at the restaurant! The staff didn’t know how to handle this and asked my friend to calm down outside the premises leaving the racist woman inside continuing her lunch. My friend has never received an apology by the restaurant! This is mad!

I really have to review this restaurant. We were a table of six, four of us vegetarians and myself in particular quite fussy. The food was superb, we ended up trying and sharing each others which is always a good sign. My husband had the salmon starter and this morning wanted it again for breakfast. The charred leeks have become my favourite starter to date, anywhere, and the Risotto again the best we've tasted, and I've tasted a lot of Risotto. The service did not disappoint either, the staff were attentive and polite. Well done to the chef who I believe is also the owner, you have a great place with just the right vibe. Price matched the food and service. Will visit again for sure when next in London. 5 stars all the ways.

Terrible service and food! Attended this restaurant with family for my sisters birthday. We arrive at 7:30 for our 4 people booking. First we noticed that the music was unbearably loud, we are all ones for a fun and lively atmosphere but music was so loud that we could not hear one another over the table. We were then given the menu and left to decide which meals we would like for 20 minutes. Patiently waiting to be served we had all long chosen our starters and mains. When we were finally served the waitress(who lowered her face mask as we could not hear her over the music) we were made aware that they had: -ran out of ALL starters -ran out of 2 of the roasts(of which we had all chosen) -only had 5 left of one of the other roasts With no apology or explanation as to why there was such a lack of resources or why we’d been left to choose these dishes for 20+ minutes before being made aware. We then changed our mains to whatever was left rather promptly before any more food was gone. Baring in mind it was only 7:30 on a Sunday and we were not warned at all by the lack of food before sitting down. After waiting a further 40-50 minutes we were then given ONE of the TWO cauliflower cheese sides that we had ordered. It was cold and on its own but we nonetheless ate it up and shared between four as we were ravenous. A further half 40mins+ later 2 of 4 of the mains arrived with no sign of the others. We then gathered that our other two mains had been given to the neighbouring 4 person table. Perhaps to spread the available food and limit the general wait(nonetheless unhelpful for both tables). The meat was tough and cold and the Yorkshire pudding was hard and overcooked. Lukewarm limp veg was buried underneath. And all was dusted with a heavy layer of salt(put on my the waitresses on every dish before serving NOT THE CHEF!) Finally after the first two dishes had been finished the other two mains arrived with unsurprisingly similar issues. Despite being ignored and neglected throughout this, once everyone had finished(what was edible) we were asked how it all was. We raised our disappointment and although the waitress was apologetic, the resolution was poor: -shots on the house(baring in mind we were clearly unhappy and wanted to leave and also that we were out for a family meal-not really the shots vibe) -removing the cauliflower cheese side from the bill(WHICH WE DID NOT RECEIVE) -no service charge(which is OPTIONAL and would definitely not have been paid regardless) Overall very disappointing and shocking, we frequently eat out and this is by far the worst experience as of yet, particularly considering the unjustifiable price! A greater shame that it was for a birthday.

Hideous. Arrived 7:30pm last Sunday for daughter’s birthday treat, promptly seated anticipating our selection. Waited 15 mins to order then to be told all the starters and be beef were off so we added 2 sides of cauliflower. 1 cold cauliflower portion arrived 45 mins later, the other never made it. Lukewarm food then appeared but was split between us and next table meaning 2 on each table had to further wait. The coffee coloured Yorkshire pud was cremated, venison extremely tough and only 2 chunks of confit potatoes were discovered under an artistically piled heap the grossly incompetent chef must have wasted time on. We complained and that missing cauliflower and service was removed. Escaped ASAP via grocers to grab baclava to enjoy back home with coffee(hot). ... Never again

I visited MP back in July after months of drooling over their Instagram with a friend. We luckily visited on a balmy summer evening and had a great table outside in the garden- immediately good vibes on arrival and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We ordered a delicious cocktail each and the bread to start which was absolutely divine. All of our food was incredible- so delicious and tasty, great portion sizes and just a general banging atmosphere, definitely made better by the great, attentive staff. After dinner we went inside for my drinks and it even felt like a bar at this point with fab music. Would 100% recommend and return. My friend has since been back and said it was even better than our first visit! Essential to support independent local restaurants like this in the current climate.

Visited last Saturday and I genuinely can't fault the place. Good atmosphere and music, the food is absolutely spot on and seasoned so well. The 1 cocktail my girlfriend had she loved as well. Couldn't reccomend it enough. P.s. if the anchovies are on the menu, you HAVE to order some

I picked up a takeaway roast from Madamme Pig during lockdown which was banging but wanted to get back for the full experience! Banging wine selection, homemade focaccia was on point, the raddicchio and porchetta were unreal!! Looking forward to a return visit.
