Macpot Kitchen in Sheffield

Lovely big communal restaurant. Lots of choices. On this occasion we chose Thai Kitchen, probably not our best decision. Staff were somewhat rude, moreover, food was terribly disappointing. Chicken in ‘chicken with cashews’ wasn’t properly cooked and fried egg was completely overcooked. Consequently, I left the dish and ate at Rumba. I tried to address the issues at Thai Kitchen, however they were only interested in turning off their lights and closing.

Ordered beef mussaman curry . The beef was thin fatty not tasty pieces. Didn’t eat it

Nice food and big portions for a really good price. Staff were also very kind and helpful. Will definitely be coming back if I'm in the area again

We love love love food at Thai Kitchen - Sheffield Plates for many reasons: Authentic taste, fresh ingredients (especially seafood), reasonable price, friendly staff, generous portion for kids meal and thanks to lively atmosphere of Sheffield Plates food court it makes their food tastes 110%. We (1 adult 2 kids) visit Thai Kitchen every weekend and always order our favorites which are Chicken Satay with peanut butter dipping sauce, Chicken Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Som Tam and Tom Yum Kung. These dishes are absolutely delicious. I travel to Thailand every year and have been to many local Thai restaurants. I must say their food would be one of the nicest ones. The only thing I would suggest that (hopefully) they would add Kha Nom Jeen (Rice noodle) when serving Som Tam (Papaya Salad) how they serve Som Tam in Thailand, as I also find the favour of the salad is quite strong and deep as in the meaning of saltiness and spiciness. That would be a perfect compination for me: Som Tam and Kha Nom Jeen :)

I love the Khao Soi from this place. The people are really nice and friendly. When she found out it would take me sometime to have my lunch, she packed the crispy chicken in a separate container to make sure it stays fresh.

Tom kha is delicious, and it's also quite fresh, with pieces of ginger, lemongrass, and I believe pandan leaf (unsure). The masamum curry is also very good. Thr food is also pretty affordable. Both are definitely recommended.

The best Tom Yum soup in Sheffield. Perfect blend of chilli, tomato and lemongrass 😋 The holy basil work crispy chicken is excellent

A great value, hidden little gem! Inside Sheffield Plate, is this thai home cooking stand. Fresh ingredients, generous portion sizes and at a fantastic price! The Khao Soi is so good, just full of deep flavours and satisfying textures. Make sure you get the home made prawn crackers to enjoy the rest of the curry broth once you’ve finished with the chicken and noodles!!

Extremely slow, came in with partner and kids ordered from here on entry. Order myself something from elsewhere after and so did my partner. We had both received and eaten ours and still nothing....I am still waiting as I write this. Shocking service, when I went up to ask she just said "will bring it when ready" been like 50 minutes already

One of the worst massaman curries I’ve ever eaten. Anaemic, no heat and zero depth of flavour. Two stars is generous. Hope the other dishes on the menu are better than this.

this family-run stall sells the best thai food in sheffield. we got the pad thai and crispy bass and it was so flavorful and delicious. it was so good we forgot to take pics hahaha.. will deffo go back again!

2nd visit today and had to have the Pad Thai again and it was just as good if not better than the first time I had it. Packed with flavour can’t wait to go back again.

Had a nice meal there on Sunday. Lovely chicken Satay , the Chicken & Prawn Pad Thai was great , good portion and freshly cooked. Shall return again before I move to Bangkok !

I have never experienced thai food this way. Full of grease and oil. The Chicken with cachewnuts was tasting fish and grease. Did they fry fish before my meal? Never coming back.

If this is Pad Thai, then I’m sorry, you’re fooling people. Absolutely far from it. Just put : sweet noodles instead. Can’t post the picture, but if you wanna risk it go ahead.

Nipped here on my lunch with my colleague after saying we would go for ages. We were not disappointed. Food was amazing and well worth the money. We went at lunch time so it was really quite. The location isn’t soo great if you have reduced mobility. I don’t know if they have a lift option but if they don’t, they only have stairs onto the top veranda of orchard square.

Came here last Thursday as our last stop after a few days in sheffield and where not disappointed. Very friendly gentleman let us know we were in time for the dine sheffield offer of any mac and cheese for a fiver! Great value. We had two pulled pork mac and cheese! Huge portion of lovely cheesy pasta with a top class pulled pork. Staff very friendly and a good pint of camden hells to wash it down. Simpleh Loveleh

Picked Macpot as it looked one of the more interesting choices on Dine Sheffield and wasn’t disappointed at all. It’s a little tricky to find at first (it’s upstairs in Orchard Square). Really nice interior, friendly staff and quick attentive service. The Mac pots are a really good size and such good quality. Likewise the sides are really good sizes and tasty. Didn’t sample the cocktails but judging by the positive reaction from an adjacent table they’re worth a try too. I have to eat gluten free these days and they were super helpful - always great to be able to have exactly the same thing as others at the same price. Will be back!

Popped in for family lunch when shopping. Nice establishment. Friendly staff. The Mac & Cheese was excellent! Yes, it’s expensive for a bowl of pasta, but you get what you pay for!!!! The quality was excellent, soooooo cheesy!!! You won’t be disappointed! Would definitely go back when in Sheffield shopping

Great place for Mac and Cheese, but also loads of other options for example, a burger, steak or pork belly. I’ve had both the steak and the pork mac and cheese and I can say both were delish! Fab beers, friendly staff and lovely decor. Can’t wait to go back :)

Lovely restaurant with friendly staff and very tasty Mac and cheese! I had the steak and my boyfriend had the beef brisket Mac pot. Varied menu and good drinks selection. Been back twice and won’t hesitate to return soon!!

Great location for a quick bite. Catches late afternoon sun on first-floor terrace above shopping area. Portion size a bit over the top, but if you need a fix of mac n cheese in the centre of Sheffield its a good option. Camden Helles and Abbeydale Heathen on draft which is a bonus.
